Does Defog need a rework?

- Harpie Summers brought up an idea for a Defog rework: have it operate like Haze and let it affect the whole field rather than targeting a single Pokémon. This would fix some inconsistencies with affecting safety veils and hazards differently, but better yet, it would stop Gholdengo and its Good as Gold ability from blocking Defog. I talk about the pros and cons this change could bring, other options to the rework idea and I get to the deeper problem of Defog in Generation 9: its limited distribution.

Weak Aura - we need to rework defog ;-; gholdengo too stronge
Strong Aura - Bring in a defogger and then hit Gholdengo with some super effective damage on the switch in, and then report him to the IRS and the FBI
Tera Ghost Blast Corviknight set incoming
make a copy of rapid spin which is a ghost type, still counter play with normal types, but its usable vs golden cheese.
Holy shit, cook
spirit spin goes hard
Wait bro cooked with this video as well
About to donate so you can get a better mic 😂😂😭
Don’t worry bro we got the Snowball back 🙏
At the end of the day gholdengo is the problem not defog. and it was MADE to be the problem its not even like a design mistake 😭😭(and hes ugly too)
Fr, and I dont think the OU metagame would lose much by banning it either. It's just probably not "problematic" enough which I understand.
@@Mr502 idk if it would "lose" much but there would be so many knock-on effects to what effectively amounts to a massive hazard nerf that there's really no way to say for sure whether it'd be good or bad for the metagame to ban gholdengo, and that's risky. it'd effectively be a whole new metagame.
@elidinkelspiel2304 I don’t see Gholdengo as starting a chain reaction. The much more problematic Kingambit, Zamazenta and Darkrai are all bigger pillars than Gholdengo.
@@Mr502 multiple things can be true. removing any of those pokemon would cause a chain reaction. goldengho plays such an important utility role, though, that IMHO it would cause a wave of effects. i see it as similar to great tusk in that respect.
What utility role other than hazard-removal blocking, which I would overall call a negative role anyway?
Nah fuck defog.
It's an unstoppable overpowered move and it was on the most annoying unkillable pokemon that constantly undo progress and heal back to full that come back over and over again like corvikight, zapdos, moltres, mandibuzz. That shit move ruined gen8 along heavy duty boots.
If something blocks Rapid spin nobody cares, but if something blocks defog everyone loses their minds.
I think it wouldn't have been as big of deal if Samurott-H and Glimmora didn't exist this gen. I love a fast-paced meta too (this is much more fun than Gen 8), but the inability to remove hazards in a hazard-laden metagame is annoying to say the least.
I HATE GHOLDENGO ITS SO OPPRESSIVE
That’s why we run knock off on our physical breakers😌
@@rhinoceros2469thats why great tusk is my rapid spin goat
If Gholdengo didn’t exist so many problems would probably be solved lol
why does your mic sound like that
???
