Why Pokemon Pros were WRONG About Iron Crown.

- Iron Crown was once laughed at as a seemingly terrible new Paradox Form of Coballion with little to offer.
Iron Boulder was the original star of the new DLC with its high speed and explosive offensive power.
However, with metagame shifts Iron Boulder eventually fell below OU, not enjoying the rise of Landorus Therian and suffering from its defensively poor typing and limited tools.
Iron Crown on the other hand caught the eyes of great players thanks to its Double Hitting signature move Tachyon Cutter, which works very well against Sash-reliant aggressive leads.
With natural Bulk and high Special Attack along with Pivoting from Volt Switch, Iron Crown also functioned very well as an Assault Vest pivot on Bulky Offense teams.
Iron Crown has now risen to OU as of July, overtaking his brother.

Some will never figure out how to get Iron Crown in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. But famous player Jim Cool is well aware of the Best Iron Crown Moveset in Competitive, and even how to Iron Crown Shiny Farm. Many aren't and never will be. That's just the unfortunate reality of the world.
Arceus exists.
The below text is very relevant to many people.
Game Freak just blew all other online game development schools out of the water with this incredible new 2022 release. You're gonna need to get a game design degree online, and FAST, if you want to make a better game than this. Not even the best strategy games android reddit could hold a candle to this breathtaking Next generation competitive Pokemon experience.
Scream Tail is the Jigglypuff of our wildest dreams. It has been buffed with some higher statistics and the incredible ability, Protosynthesis. Gen 9 Competitive Pokemon wouldn't be the same without this powerful pink blob. He kinda looks like someone I met in one of my game design and development courses.
Gen 9 Pokemon Showdown is one of the greatest online gaming sites in history. From Pikachu and Charizard, to Palafin and Roaring Moon, The new Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, have introduced a lot of new faces. Can I succeed in one of the best android games of all time? If so, I'm gonna get myself a Walmart bakery Pokemon cake to celebrate.
Gholdengo is a Pokemon made of pure gold. He must have done some online business management courses to accumulate all that wealth. Or perhaps he might want to learn how to make money playing video games on CZcams. In any case, he's a powerful metagame force, with absolutely no interest in online game development schools.

I am known Aggron Advocate for the Horse Council. Aggron is my favorite horse, only rivaled by Falinks. If High Horsepower is not the metric by which we quantify horsedom, I fear my worldview may be shattered. That said, I trust the Council to come the reasonable conclusion.
Are we completely sure that Iron Mugulis, who I’m pretty sure is doing his time for his crimes, is not behind these additions to the horse council to upend their authority?
Counterpoint: High Horsepower is not a horse-type move. It's a car-type move. Hence the term "horsepower".
This is why some horses can't learn High Horsepower.

Meanwhile Iron Boulder needs to face the Iron Burden allegations.

Iron Crown may not be able to learn the move High Horsepower, but the revelation that Spectrier, a Horse Elite, is also unable to do so leads me to believe this Paradox Pokemon should be allowed a place in the Horse Council.
We cant just open the floodgates like that

In a world of increasing horse creep, Rhydon has risen to the horse council in a very honest way

Rhydon is a very honest, Bosnian pokemon
Personally believe rhydon is stirring the pot so a stricter definition of horse is made which will remove horsie and magcargo from the horse council ending the horse civil war.
Rhinos are pretty closely related to horses in real life..I think our horned friend gets a pass.
Iron Boulder losing popularity in OU in the generation it was introduced? It really is the future Paradox form of Terrakion
Honestly, Iron Boulder would have had to have been really exceptional in OU to not fall to the same fate as Terrakion as a rock/psychic type.
The Horse Chronicles have me on edge every time
It fills me with high horsepower every time.
This actually sort of reminds me to the Infernape and Empoleon dynamic in Gen 4
Infernape at first was the more favorable option due to being a fast, explosive, immediate threat. But as the meta shifted, it went more into the favor of the slower, bulky attacker with defense/offense utility.

Horse power is a unit of measurement based on the power of a single horse. To have high horse power you aren't a horse, you have the power of many.
I mean the average horse is capable of more than 1 horse power
Horsepower is the power of a horse averaged over a whole workday; they can output much more than 1 horsepower (a *high* amount) in short bursts
@@somebodyuknow2507 and you can factor in the selective breeding since that unit was made making them slightly better

Funny. Isnt this exactly why Cobalion started seeing use later in the previous generations? It wasn't as fast as Virizion or as strong as Terrakion, but it could do more. So much more. Volt Switch was also one of the redeeming qualities it had.
Very cool that Iron Crown really is like the 2.0 of Cobalion

I will sub to Jimothy Cool. Pokemon like Magcargo and Snorlax getting into the "Horse" council while Spectrier is ousted is outragous. Next video should be dedicated to finally deciding once and for all what Pokémon are horses and which are not. The horse council drama is overshadowing Old Money’s corporate takeover and our priorities must be set in order
Horse:
noun
1.
a large plant-eating domesticated mammal with solid hoofs and a flowing mane and tail, used for riding, racing, and to carry and pull loads.
2.
a frame or structure on which something is mounted or supported, especially a sawhorse.
verb
provide (a person or vehicle) with a horse or horses.
Because of this, I support spectrier as a horse because it fits the first definition, Pokémon like Magcargo, as much as I support horse diversity, only provides horsepower, which is simply a unit of force equal to roughly 735.5 Newtons/second. Because of this, I would push to revoke it’s horse status, though because of the large strides it has made for the horse community at large, I believe an honorary horse society membership is in order.
Okay Horsea, get off your alt account
I had been curious about why the sentiment around IC had shifted of late

I really admire Iron Crown’s resilience. He may have been shunned from the horse council, but he kept persevering until the horse council truly recognized him for the horse he is.

In the last meta I used a similar idea as a hyper offense lead counter in "Salamence". This Salamence had a "Choice Scarf" to outspeed all potential leads, but had a "+Attack" nature with "Moxie" to also potentially have some late game usage. The key to this Salamence is "Dual Wingbeat" which OHKOs "Ribombee" with "Focus Sash", and is fast enough to outspeed it as well, not letting it get up "Sticky Web". Along with the move "Iron Head" to face off against "Alolan Ninetails" and "Glimora" (although Iron Crown is notably much better against this lead) leads, this Salamence would often be up 1 kill with an attack boost after the first turn was over.

It has recently come to the council's attention that a number of other mons also get "high horsepower" despite their non-titles as horses. Such mons include: Melmetal, Rillaboom, Buzzwole, Chesnaught, Cetitan, Golurk, Guzzlord, Orthworm, Torterra and Wishcash among their pre-evolutions. Should these mons too be allowed access to the council?

Dear Jimothy Cool,
I beseech thee in not forgetting our beloved Klawf, another inheritor of the Pokemon move High Horsepower.
Not only that, but it's cry is clearly a "moo", making it unquestionably a horse.
Thank you for your consideration.
we should also consider how high the horsepower of all those horses is and if some pokemon are horses but with a low horsepower
The only issue is that, despite having 122 base spAtk it still feels slightly weak offensively without booster energy for some reason
Ive commonly used scarf Iron Crown in the beginning of the dlc to prevent Ribombee from getting up webs at all. Also with Iron Defense it can turn Kingambit into a fodder.

If this goes on my favorite Pokémon Dugtrio can be called a horse for knowing high horse power, it can also punch and slash which horses do usually lack. It could be the most powerful horse this is insane.
I think that the best accomplishment of Scarlet/Violet is that no pokemon truly feels useless. Some are more useful, some are more niche, but every pokemon has its function that it does as well or better than anything else.
Hey this is the first video of yours that ive watched and it was a pretty good video, but i have some feedback about your editing.
Its really just how you edit/do your narration. It feels very choppy and unnatural. I can clearly hear that sometimes you have 4 different takes edited together for 1 sentence and you rarely get through a whole sentence without the editing causing issues like unnatural rhythm (because of weirdly long or short pauses) and pitch shifts. This makes it hard to follow sometimes, as sentences and subclauses dont follow a natural rhythm.
I think this is where you could make the greatest improvement to your videos atm. Recording whole sentencesb (sometimes multiple in one take) might be hard at first, but its going to make your videos so much better, and its going to make your editing way easier as well. I can only imagine all the cuts you have to do to construct a semifluent narration built on 4-8 word clusters.
I wanna finish off by saying that it was still a good video, you are good at making it very digestible, and I think you could make absolutely great videos with more natural sounding narration.
I hope you can use this and find it constructive:)
It’s hard for me to remember that the paradox swords are all psychic not steel because of their names.
I'm not gonna lie, I saw Iron Crown's potential right out the gate. I literaly told my firend IRL that this mon definitely has a future. What's actually really cool, is that it volts vs Ghold and vs Kingamit, allowing them to be bullied by the right mons, and Future Sight / Psychic coverage disuades Great Tusk from switching in too recklessly, not that it enjoys taking Tachyon Cutters on the switch. It's also worth noting that booster speed cutter prevents most good leads from doing anything.
I've had a couple of matches where I ended up having to pivot into a preserved Ribombee, so what I'd done, was go for Future Sight first, then OHKO it with Cutter, to force my opponent into their dark types. As mentioned, it handles Kyurem REALLY well, forcing the Tera, only for it to get removed by the Future Sight + Priority is what Poetry looks like.
In my opinion, Crown, and Lokix are genuinely good mons. And there's actually potential for even more good sets out there.
Any team recommendations with Iron Crown?
And I'm feeling it, TACHYON
I wish they also buff Iron Leaves. Well first thing's first, they can make Psyblade the common Paradox Musketeer sig move, just change its effect to gain the boost in Electric Terrain instead.
Then they can give Leaves a new sig move. Dunno what it needs to be useful but I'm thinking of some light-based Grass attack that goes through screens and subs and ignore DEF boosts. The screens are not broken but instead powers up the move, basically roasting them behind it. I'm gonna call it Photon Slash.
Iron GOAT (also sad to hear the horse counsel is in shambles qwq)
please talk about why Iron Valiant is valid in OU while Life Orb Genesect isn’t
Funny how the competitive history of Iron Boulder matches that of Terrakion. Same for Iron Crown and Cobalion. History repeats itself
Spectrier may be able to claim "Horsey Immunity": The ruling that a pokemon who is agreed to be a horse is immune from the consequences of any official moves that pokemon may or may not know.
A mad funny option is specs crown. Before I tilted like mad, I got to 1600s with it because it was that funny. Not a very practical thing but man specs tachyon cutter hits like a truck. Plus it guarantees ohko on clod with psyshock and you don't need chip on kyurem for tachyon ohko. Again not exactly the best set, but give a shot it's pretty fun catching people off guard with it.
Kind of a beautiful redemption story. His original self is horrible and everyone thought his future self was horrible but now he’s proving everyone wrong.
I like that iron crown has been experimented with more, and recently become a proper OU Pokémon. It’s a very cool design, both visually and gameplay-wise. Hope to use it to great success myself.
I wonder if Spectrier doesn’t learn high horsepower because its hooves are… ethereal? They don’t look attached to the rest of its body, at least.
Perhaps the horse council needs tiers of horseness. Being a rideable quadruped with high horse power like mudsdale and glastier is the highest tier of horseness. While magcargo is a mere patron of the horse council since it has access to high horse power.
I believe this gives a voice to all potential horses while keeping the values of the horse council the same.
