Some will never figure out how to get Gliscor in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. But famous player Jim Cool is well aware of the Best Gliscor Moveset in Competitive, and even how to Gliscor Shiny Farm. Many aren't and never will be. That's just the unfortunate reality of the world.
Some may argue that the above paragraph is completely unrelated to anything. I'd say its important information to consider.
The below text is very relevant to many people.
Game Freak just blew all other online game development schools out of the water with this incredible new 2022 release. You're gonna need to get a game design degree online, and FAST, if you want to make a better game than this. Not even the best strategy games android reddit could hold a candle to this breathtaking Next generation competitive Pokemon experience.
Scream Tail is the Jigglypuff of our wildest dreams. It has been buffed with some higher statistics and the incredible ability, Protosynthesis. Gen 9 Competitive Pokemon wouldn't be the same without this powerful pink blob. He kinda looks like someone I met in one of my game design and development courses.
Gen 9 Pokemon Showdown is one of the greatest online gaming sites in history. From Pikachu and Charizard, to Palafin and Roaring Moon, The new Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, have introduced a lot of new faces. Can I succeed in one of the best android games of all time? If so, I'm gonna get myself a Walmart bakery Pokemon cake to celebrate.
Gholdengo is a Pokemon made of pure gold. He must have done some online business management courses to accumulate all that wealth. Or perhaps he might want to learn how to make money playing video games on CZcams. In any case, he's a powerful metagame force, with absolutely no interest in online game development schools.

Ferrothorn was not included in this video due to the allegations.
It can wall Dragons a bit but also it has no good healing and gets Worn down easily. A top tier defensive utility Pokemon but I wouldn't quite call it a Wall with much longevity.
Also it's immoral
@@jimothycool nevertheless a great pokemon
Is it because he's homophobic?
it's been years man ferrothorn changed, he doesn't deserve this :(

I have just used Reflect in Generation 1 folks, this is a permanent boost to my physical defense until I switch out.
That is insane.

This is epic.

Cant believe poison heal is now a move in gen 10 exclusive to iron mugulis, stands toe to toe with smeargle blast as the strongest move in the game
Iron Mugulis and Smeargle 2 should get banned to AGBL they are so strong.
Does anyone still think either of them are viable? Everyone knows zekrom kick is stronger than both of them
Iron fellow is a UU staple with a niche in OU since it resists smergle blast and Chansey’s signature move called “pulling out a concealed firearm”.
Ahhh yes, the legendary OHKO move "Pew Pew" that Chansey finally learns. Took us 30 years to find out what Chansey was hiding behind that egg.
Nah bro the gen 10 twinneedle buff is insane

My first bullshit super long stall game happened in this Gen Bro 😂
I think it was turn 150 and it was a toxapex 1v1

Fun fact about Gen 4 Clefable/Magic Guard: Magic Guard in Gen 4 made you immune to full paralysis preventing your turn meaning all being paralyzed did was half your speed
quartered** its only in gen 7 that it halved.
Hilariously, one could argue Chansey’s immunity to Body Slam paralysis is a debuff, exclusively for itself.
A paralyzed Chansey cannot be slept or frozen (the latter often being fished for in Chansey mirror matches) and it cannot be hit with the rare, but still present, toxic. Sometimes you would rather switch Chansey in to get paralyzed over your Tauros or another important ’mon, just to insulate it from other status.
This is true, but it's definitely categorically a rework and mostly positive for chansey.
paralysis dropping turns completely ruins chances to wall certain targets, a paralyzed chansey often can get "haxxed" by psychic spamming mons or reflect sets can fail as they need to get the reflect off t1 of entry.
@@funkymachine me when the enemy's mildly chipped chansey gets psychic crit, spdef dropped and full parad after switching into zam twave (it doesn't wall me anymore)

I am definitely and absolutely now going to try Gen 1 OU!
rby is hilarious because of the sheer amount of shenanigans that are actually viable strategies
This a very newbie and poor view of the meta. To actually believe that you have to never have played any game at all of the tier. There are intricacies such as know how to fish for a freeze in the correct situations rather than use Thunder Wave/an attack love with some Pokémon, positioning and so much more...

walls in competitive pokemon are an archetype scene across every single generation.
A wall is a Pokémon that is powerful enough defensively to act as a blockade against the enemies' offensive pressure
a wall is a pokemon that is powerful enough defensively to act as a blockade against the enemy's offensive pressure
Usually through healing or sheer bulk, keeping them out and preventing them from overwhelming your team, just like a wall.
Usually through healing or sheer bulk😊
Many players dislike these Pokémon and find them frustrating to play against, but they serve an important purpose in competitive singles
You've uploaded this just in time for my spaghetti meal. This is awesome
I love spaghetti
I hate spaghetti
I have a neutral opinion on spaghetti
I don't mind spaghetti but am of the opinion that pasta offers more variation.
I hope you enjoyed your spaghetti
The fact that the video is this long fits really well with the subject matter
I think you forgot to add Magcargo in gen 3, it is a well known fact that Magcargo has a 100% win rate in gen 3 ou.
A long detailed video about Pokemon walls a few days after a long detailed video about Mario 64 walls... _Hmmm_
You got that one too?
I beat skarmbliss in half an a press
Oh good glad I'm not the only person getting shown that recommendation. Is it any good?
@@kingpin6173 Pannenkoek2012 is a gaming hero, I highly recommend checking out his new masterpiece, as well as going back to watch "Watch For Rolling Rocks In 0.5x A Presses" (his most popular video) if you haven't seen it yet. It's an important part of gaming/internet history!
I like your pfp
Wolves in competitive pokemon are 2016 world champions with multiple regional wins under their belt.
The music matching the gens was a nice touch, great video Jim :)
47:09 Emotion OST playing followed by Jim presenting the facts on Toxapex is some comedy.
An hour -long Pokemon video? Jim, you are delivering some of the most insane content on the platform.
Ferrothorn? No mention? It's got an hour long video on FSG. Idk how it was missed haha! Great video tho!
I should also add in that, in Gen 2, Cloyster's scariest tool (besides spikes) is explosion. It has to sacrifice rapid spin to run it thanks to some egg move stuff, but it's worth it. It actively threatens Snorlax meaning the big man can't just stay in on a Cloy and can also punish any switch-ins provided you get a good read

Perfect video to listen to while I do data entry for my job, your voice is soothing and you're so good at explaining things!
Ty for this movie Mr Cool. Truly, one of the pokemon competitive videos of all time.
Loving the long form overview type videos.
MASTERPIECE, GREAT WORK!!!
This makes me so happy Jim 😭💙
Wait I'm very surprised I didn't see Ferrothorn
How did you entirely skip Teleport slowbro, clef, bliss in the gen 8 portion. That move defined that generation imo
crazy that this video is about as long as the average stall match
surely Ferrothorn deserves a mention
Car ride home from work has been blessed once again
Before watching this CZcams forced me to watch an ad about smashing walls. Truly CZcams prefers overwhelming offense.
Only one you missed that I would have liked to have heard about was Corviknight
Great video! Enjoying the longer form content
I’m so excited to see what Jimothy says about my favorite wall, Cradily!
Your videos are becoming more like bkc, and I mean this in the best way possible. I love these long videos and i am here for more
Oh look the section on gen 3 is longer than the sections on gens 7 8 and 9 combined, now why would that be
Whoa, adding Balatro music into the mix
If I already paid half of my attention to the music in some of these videos, let's just say I won't be less distracted
Love that theme, gets stuck in my head for hours lol
Also take this opportunity to say I enjoy the music in general.
Nice vid! Very cohesive through the gens!
1 hour left at work and a 1 hour Jim video on walls drops. This is insane.
This is funny cause I was doing a random battle last night and this guy had a gliscor and it kept spamming sub protect and toxic and it pretty much soloed my entire team until I just left my computer
Hour long wall review, I will sleep well tonight
That thumbnail that displays Poison Heal as a 16 pp move is killing me
I see you included the balatro soundtrack, nice pick. Addictive game
I love running stall/defensive focused teams. Would love to shout out my favorite that didn't get mentioned here. Ferrothorn
The video length is an accurate representation of the time it takes to break Blissey
now we need a vid for all the defensive utility fellows, would love to see all my beloved steels like empoleon, heatran & ferrothorn 😤
1 hour jim video dropped we are so fucking back
Welcome back gentlemen to an hour of a productive discussion.
I love the move Poison Heal, its my favorite move that is not an ability. I am so glad the move Poison Heal was on the thumbnail
snorlax is the quintessential tank of gen 1. can dish out just as much as it takes
Hearing both Chrono Trigger and Balatro in the background threw me through a loop. Fitting on the latter, given there's a boss blind called The Wall.
What I like about Garganacl as a wall is that it functions more like an anti wall instead of a pure wall itself, everything it has is perfectly tuned to punish overly defensive strats that were used in the past. It can't be statused and its signature move does massive damage to steel and water the two types that were basically the mascot of defense. However, Garg is tricky to use as a pure wall due to its typing making it hard to find switch-in opportunities. It really needs both a turn to switch in and a turn to set up before you enter the garg engine, and those turns are usually against other walls
This hour long video is a wall for my productivity
I honestly love tht they exist. Defensive teams are so damn fun
Primarina is another example of a great wall in gen 9. Its typing is just perfect considering some of the major threats in the tier, such as Great tusk, kingambit, gouging fire, etc
goat longform video
I’m not sure if this has been said before or not, but I personally believe Swampert and other Pokémon such as Carracosta should get shore up as I kinda believe it would fit with them. I mean Swampert has two dex entries stating it makes it’s nest on beautiful beaches, and Carracosta is literally “the prototurtle” Pokémon and turtles (at least sea turtles) are well known for building their nests on land and covering their eggs with sand (the Japanese name for shore up is literally sand gather). That’s just my opinion though, would appreciate any feedback on this
This is incredible folks
How fitting a video on walls in competitive Pokémon is a wall of words
5:00 I think a good word for a wall that does major damage is “tank”, though I know that wall and tank are used interchangeably sometimes
whats the music at the end of the generation 3 chapter, i rlly like it
One hour of jim
this is the iliad of pokemon - a truly epic story
Fitting that a video about walls is an hour long
Man what game is the first song that plays from? It’s so familiar but I can’t put my finger on it
nice DKC OST in the back :)
Playing gen 7, spiking on the telegraphed toxapex switch, then coming back in and getting that JUICY Battle Bond form.
4:30 was that Iron Mugulus fighting a Meowth in the background? This is insane.
What a great movie
44:05 when you look under the truck in vermilion city
Gen 1 chansey being a brick shithouse that shits back is still one of my favorite competitive pokemon dynamics
For Gen 3 OU, there were some rather crucial move and moveset options that weren't mentioned (e.g., Wish & Heal Bell / Aromatherapy Blissey, mono-toss Blissey, Ice Beam & Hypnosis Milotic, etc.), which makes what's discussed here more of a beginner's introduction whose usefulness won't extend very far into the intermediate and expert levels of play.
"Dondozo is a blockade against any physical sweeper ever" iron defense + agility + power trip corviknight:
I’d take 1 hour of Jimothy Cool talking about Big Stall™ any day tbh
Im surprised you didnt talk about Amnesia in gen 1 especially on Snorlax.
That's the Wall brother!
How do reflect and Barrier interact in gen1?
A wall is a pokemon that is powerful enough defensively to act as a blockade against the enemys offensive pressure.
RBY Rhydon does use Rest every now and then in more defensive oriented teams when you want longevity against Zapdos and Jolteon, also helps against non-ice beam Chansey since it can pp stall it.
Stakataka + Blissey core in gen 7 is fun.
It’s Wall Wednesday folks. This is insane
uff the Maplestory OST good choice
Snorlax isnt a Wall or an attacker
Snorlax is a Tank
A Tank is basically a slow bulky attacker
Wallbreaker
Sweeper
Wall
Tank
Staller
Those are basically the roles
When do we get the video on offensive walls?
Jimothy is something of a movie maker himself.
wow i can't believe jimothy forgot to mention celebi's special dark weakness and only mentioned it's fire and ice ones
Yea I would figure a video about stall would take way longer than a regular video
The duration of the video is the duration of an average stall vs stall match
My favorite gen 1 chansey.. ice beam, softboiled, seismic toss, substitute. It's not competitively viable but fun for a casual playthrough. Despite the hefty price tag for substitute.
Toxapex vs. Iron Mugulis. Who'd win?
The money got different
fire maplestory music 🔥
crazy to still hear that Clefable's type change was "controversial". It's preevolution has "fairy" in it's english name....
I love walls
My favorite move, poison heal
