- OU is at a unique standstill with itself. These four Pokémon - Zamazenta, Darkrai, Kingambit and Kyurem - all warp the metagame around them for arguably the worse, but if one is banned, the others may become even more OP. Here's my dive into the four most problematic Pokémon of OU: why they are unfun perpetrators of the metagame, what they are capable of and how you can stop them.

zamazenta runs 389 speed to outrun adamant dragonite after a DD.

I think zamazenta runs 389 to outspeed scarf bruxish (I have no idea I made this up.)
Looked it up, Scarf *Adamant Brux is 424 speed lol
389 spd is run to out speed +1 dd d-nite

Darkrai I wouldn't mind seeing go. I personally feel that it doesn't add much to the tier other than being another fast and powerful Pokemon in an already powercrept metagame. Realistically, I feel like Zama would be much more likely to get banned.

Nice video, the amount of times ive seen iron defence zama sweep high level tourney games is disgusting. It 1v1s everything and just takes insane positioning to not get destroyed by it. I'd really like to see it suspected
Me too. I’m shocked it hasn’t been at this point considering no suspect test has been ran in quite some time. Maybe it will be in July once usage stats come out and they reflect on them.

On the thumbnail Kyurem kinda looked like it was Darkrai's legs and it looked kinda cool.
Drifloon +hp +def with strength sap and willo wisp hard stops great tusk and zamazenta, will outspend gambit to land the willowisp. It’s just a really good answer to spinners and physical mons, also it can run defog, knock off and haze, with 3 immunities
I think you mean drifblim, cause drifoons gets rekt by knock off. Also I think it's quite passive for what it does. Might fit on stall teams tho?

@@Mr502I go through phases of wanting to run shit sets just to see if it works by catching people off guard, so that's how I learned he got imprison lmao (spoiler alert it is NOT a banger) Side note, if you ever play natdex, magic room scarf Lele is unironically very good 👍🏻.

I kinda touched on this in the vid, but they are really only keeping in each other in check. If one got banned, yes, the meta would probably spiral. If all four were banned, I don’t think much is lost.
Zamazenta is one of those cases where everyone is trying to speed creep eachother. That’s why it’s at 389 and I’ve seen them go up to 390s. Especially roar sets wanna be faster than other roar sets
I saw a choice scarf dragon energy Regidrago in OU. I am now using that on my team because it's a funny gimmick.

Dude zamazenta is actually so hard to build for and with Tera you need to commit at least two slots to deal with it on a good day. It beats all of the hazard setters and Lu has to commit to Tera poison just to hopefully check it for longer in the game. Sub sets auto win so many games, 4 attack is always solid, roar potentially beats all other zama, the flexibility is absurd. Of the four I hate facing zama the most, but I understand the cases being made against other mons.
Oh 1000% Zamazenta is the worst offender here. The other three aren’t fun, but Zama is a whole different beast. Would be very surprised if it isn’t suspected after July shifts.

It’s fucking maddening trying to use something like weavile or meowscarada and losing games are because somehow 383 speed, a benchmark almost all Pokémon can’t even hit, is too low. You don’t want to take that Speed tie with darkrai, it’s fat for how strong and fast it is and god knows what kind of spread any given zamazenta might be running
There are so many Pokémon that single-handedly put the same restraints on what you’re allowed to put into a team builder together as the other thirtysome pokemon forming the metagame
True. We might even see Meow and Weav drop tomorrow for those exact reasons.
i would say its rather uncontriversial to place Sucker punch as the Best MOVE Of All Time, priority moves aside
If you’re factoring in distribution, I could get behind that, yeah. I walked it back with “priority moves” because Thunderclap and Jet Punch may be better as standalone moves.

While that is true @trains3377, I kinda have to agree with @TrulyAtrocious actually. Stealth Rock single-handedly decided which Pokémon types could be used (and what removal Pokémon would have to be used with these disadvantaged types) for four generations. I think the case for it and U-Turn are easier to argue.
@Mr502 that's very fair, hazards overall (mostly spike/rocks) have been meta defining since their introduction.
I would absolutely say that 50% of the game is won in the Teambuilder, and a move so powerful that it can influence choices in the builder is a insane power. Thinking about it more I think hazard moves overall are stronger than Sucker Punch. Tbh sub is stronger than Sucker because it totally shuts it down, and it can win games in 1 turn in the right situation.
Where's waterpon?
Waterpon could probably be an honorable mention. However, I don’t think it’s meta warping or too OP. It’s scary for stall teams but that’s about it, everything else it’s just one of many good offensive set-up options.

I’m going to preface this by saying I’ve never been particularly great at the game. The highest I’ve ever been is like, 1400. But for what it’s worth I actually love Kingambit.
I think it’s a blast to both use, and play against, I think the 50/50 game can be fun and adrenaline pumping, just hoping you click the right move and out mind-game your opponent to win. I also just love its badass design and lore. Super cool in that regard too. Personally I hope he stays.

It's never a mind game with Gambit. If you just click sucker punch 8 times in a row you've got like a 95% chance of winning.
