Push-ups are one of the BEST exercises you can do. They work your chest, shoulders, arms, and core. One of the biggest advantages of doing push-ups is that they don't require any equipment and you can do them anywhere.
If you haven't worked out in a while, it's possible that you can't do a full push-up right now. The good news is that today's video will show you how to do a push-up if you are fat or too out of shape. If you can already do one, we will also show you some more advanced push-ups that you can do as you get stronger.
When practicing push-ups for beginners, it is important to stay consistent and do 5 minutes of practice every day with rest in between sets. This is the key to learning how to increase push-ups from zero to whatever your goal is.
    Push-up Progression Plan
    1:57 Bench Push-Ups
    4:05 Knee Push-Ups
    5:30 Toe Push-Ups
    6:23 Tempo Push-Ups
Some more advanced push-up variations include: weighted push-ups, incline push-ups, deficit push-ups.

I am an 85 year old male, ex Marine and retired USAF F4 and F111 pilot. I was always active but in recent years stopped doing pushups, though I did ride my exercise bike. Do a lot of hiking and walking. Following your plan, in 8 days I went from doing 0 pushups to 5. I stopped short of failure. Am sure I will do 10 in a few more sessions.

Today I watched your video and decided to start with pushups using the counter to start with. After 5 sets of 10, I can really feel the burn and I plan on continuing. My biggest problem is snacking after dinner and I feel like I won't want to ruin my progress if I start working out after dinner. I quit smoking, drinking and drugs so after all that, it's time to "start" some new healthy habits.

you mentioned 5 minutes , but one person might do 1 pushup in 5 mins while another might be able to do 5. so if I am able to do 3 sets of 5 pushups each would that be a good start ?
