    Essentially, we have 3 tiers of pushup ability listed. Your training method depends on which tier you're in (I completely made up these tiers to simplify and these numbers aren't set in stone whatsoever):
    0-5 Push-ups: work on easier variations to build up a stronger foundation for Full Push-ups! (while THEORETICALLY some would start doing Full Push-ups as soon as they can do one, it's rarely the best idea. For one thing, your joints may not have adapted to full push-ups even if your muscles have.)
    5-15 Push-ups: Work on Full Push-ups and focus on good, clean form! Do these for 2-3 sets to near failure 1-2x a week. Same for the previous tier.
    15+ Push-ups: at this point, you tend to heal faster from your pushup days and you can start doing them more often! Every other day is fine. Eventually you can do them 6-7 days a week! Feel free to rest for several minutes between sets, especially if your goal is to maximize reps within a single set.
    Remember to breathe while doing these push-ups! It makes a big difference - especially as you get into higher numbers.
    There are other aspects that can help. Let me know if you'd like a follow-up! Have a wonderful day.

    This actually helped me a LOT, probably like half a year ago, I could do like maybe 5 pushups, 3 of them were clean. A big problem I had was breathing, and the unusual feeling of bloodpressure building up in my head. So I practiced inclined pushups and got to like 15 pushups on like 30cm incline in 2 weeks, and then I baught a pushup grip plank which helped me to keep my form, aswell as being a small incline. Now I can do 5 sets of 20 pushups on a normal surface.

    • @HybridCalisthenics
      @HybridCalisthenics  Před rokem +15

      Just slightly different emphasis on the muscles being used! That applies just to about any tweak in technique - even leaning further forward.
      Also the pushup handles might add slightly more depth. If they're angled so the handles are parallel with your body, then it might add more shoulder and arm emphasis and less chest emphasis, for example. Just based on how your elbows might want to go while holding handles like that.
