    Osteoarthritis is EXTREMELY common after 40. In general, a lot of people are dealing with knee pain after 40. At this age, we start to feel pain and inflammation from the bone on bone action that is occurring in the knee. Working out with chronic knee pain can be incredibly difficult. It is important to find the most knee-friendly exercises so that you can enjoy your workout while still getting results. Today's video will cover 5 of the best leg exercises for older men with bad knees.
    Remember: "Don't train through the pain!" If something hurts, stop your motion before you reach the point of pain. When doing these low impact leg exercises for bad knees, you may still experience some knee pain. We encourage you to try them all and find out which ones are the best to add to your knee pain leg workout.

    Thank you so much I'm so glad I found your Channel! I tore my left knee meniscus almost a year ago and decided to join a gym 7 months ago to try and stabilize it as much as possible as my mom suffered from severe osteoarthritis at around my age which is 52 currently. I am so excited to incorporate these new exercises into my routines, I'll definitely let you know how they're working out for me as I progressed with them, about to head into the gym right now and try him out!     Brilliant! Even regular split squats and sump squats hurt my knees but the 'partial' and 'modified' versions shown in this video are excellent! I am really looking forward to trying them at my next gym session! Thank you so much! 😊

    Thanks Dr. A! Left knee is crunchy and I’m confident if I strengthen my legs the knee will improve. These exercises avoid the deep squat and extension pain! Appreciate the thorough demonstration.

Here is another exercise that may help you a lot (Lateral step down): czcams.com/video/h5DH9wcGvLw/video.html Use a very small box/step... and gradually build up the height as you get stronger. Make sure your hips stay level. I would also suggest you try this exercise barefoot as you can really feel the muscles in your feet activate & contact the ground... which will help your leg muscles activate and stabilize your knee & hip joints. 👍

      Use a very small box/step... and gradually build up the height as you get stronger. Make sure your hips stay level.
      I would also suggest you try this exercise barefoot as you can really feel the muscles in your feet activate & contact the ground... which will help your leg muscles activate and stabilize your knee & hip joints.

    I hurt my knees from overtraining distance running. Haven’t been able to do squats since. I found this workout really helpful, particularly the partial split squats and the dumbbell deadlift. Definitely incorporating these into my rotation

    Hello Dr. Balduzzi,
    This video will help me a lot. I have some meniscus problems the doctors say but they mostly feel that "an operation" would help. I don't want that though. So I have been taking it easy and being careful not to strain my knees in any way. I found your video today and I practised some of the exercises as you did them, to see which ones work for me. I can do three of the exercises and if I forget how to do them, I can always watch your video again. Thank you I am very pleased. I miss Fitness so much!! I don't really subcribe to anything, but I will today. I had no pain whatsoever doing your the three exercises. Very nice!

    Perfect thank you, I have cartlidge damage in my knee and have been doing nothing but upper body lifting the last month, i never thought the day would come where I was craving to do a leg workout without making the damage even worse

    I'm so fortunate that I came across this video. I had bilateral knee surgery a few months ago and have been trying to be super careful when it comes to exercise. These exercises are very easy on the knees and definitely a challenging workout, in a good way. 😊 Definitely recommend this for anyone with knee issues.

    Very helpful. I am trying to build my strength in preparation for a total knee replacement, but I feel I can do these. I may need to hold on to TRX straps for balance on the second one with the leg up. I'm definitely adding this to my routine.

    So helpful! Having to re-learn how to workout with my bad knees. It's so frustrating because I've been able to do pretty much any kind of strength training and running for so many years but my knees are not happy about it anymore! 😭 These exercises are great and make me feel like I'm getting a good workout!
