    Really gives that final season of Game of thrones feeling. Where nothing makes sense while everyone shakes their head, tries to understand, and walks away.

      Will C As brutal as this game was, it was still a better battle than the one in the show.

    I feel like Owen doesn't know the game too well. Also the insane difference in rolling dice doesn't help, but I think that the most important issue was Owen's decisions. The moment I see flayed men i take the letter and weaken them. And then weaken the others with Sheera if possible

    Owen, you need to fire those dice. Figuratively or literally, your choice, but get rid of them.

    Doubling up on a terrible unit at 10 points each (Stag Knights+Stag Noble) is a terrible idea.
    Add terrible dice and you get a terrible game.
    Lovely paintjob though.
    Shelve the Stag knights until they got their desperately needed buff and paint up some Flayed menz to bolster the Barathons because you really, really need some mobility in them.
    (oh And burn those yellow dice!!!)

  • @orphansrequiem6123
    @orphansrequiem6123 Před 4 lety +2

    Learned first hand.. most Baratheon losses are a result of the terrible dice in the starter lol every now and then it gets good rolls.. but 1's and 2's seem to be their favorite.

    CMON seems to have done a better job with the Targaryens than they did with the Baratheons. Yellow Hero Box 1 & 2 might alleviate some pain, but I just don’t see where Baratheons have the units in-faction to justify their existence at this time.

    Flayed Men are actually really good in the Baratheons! Cards like counter charge and hold the line are really good with them.
    I also think the Stormcrow Lieutenant is the best attachment for Baratheons - Florent lets you get the bags 5/6 turns and the +1 die/Sundering is very good for Stag Knights and Wardens. You can also stick Bronn in a unit of Sentinels for a faster infantry unit rolling 10 dice with Sundering.

  • @teemukujala201
    @teemukujala201 Před 4 lety +1

    Ok, maybe there were some bad dice rolling, but really... those Baratheons in the right flank had two opportunities to manoeuvre back and possibly avoid the charge from FM and at least not take it to the flank! Really really bad playing by Owen, sorry to say. And if they had that attachment that negates charge and flank bonuses and he didn’t use it! What can I say...

  • @tassadarc8069

  • @RussBuss27
    @RussBuss27 Před 4 lety

    The attack at 17:00 should have been far different, that unit has a Master Warden. This whole attach should have been a normal attack with out the charge bonus. He only landed 3 hits with the first roll. The unit may have lost 5 units in the whole attack really not get wiped off the table. Berathones have the strongest defense against flank attacks but you need to remember to use the order. Dice rolls sucked but it could have been avoided.

    Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
    Nice batrep even though Owens Baras got smashed by your Boltons. 17.13 min. Wealth & Cunning is played after you rolled your attack dice. In this case it does not make any difference for the outcome, but in future games this could be crucial for your army since the FM have already a good damage output.
    Another important question: WHERE IS CLARENCE???
    Kind regards.

    Double stags and sentinels is the wrong way to go imo. + You should have backed away with your sentinels instead of letting the flayed get a easy flank charge and putting your other guys in charge range. That way wou ould have made the charge a 4 or a 5 + you could get a easy countercharge on the flank of flayed men if he had fallend, allowing you to 1 for 1.

  • @andydressel268
    @andydressel268 Před 4 lety

    At 25:46 looks like he covers the objective token but I guess it was just a smidgen of the token we couldn't see...definitely feel for the Baratheons not having a lot of tools to work with currently.

    As much as I try, I cannot relate to the mechanic of the off board influences effecting the battle like that. Its a battle...and to have some leader far away who knows where take out 4 infantry....just cant do it, man! Love the minis though

  • @TheGameFatha
    @TheGameFatha Před 4 lety +2

    Game of thrones says it's 6" away from deployment for objective tokens. Deployment is 6". There it is 12" up not 18". Ash you need to learn to listen and not assume you know it all. You rarely let Owen correct you.

    I'm a total newbie to this channel, and this is I think the first video I've ever watched. The dude on the left talks and mumbles way too fast, Im probably in the minority and I'm gonna get fucking flamed here because that's what communities do when you criticise their idols lol, but just some constructive criticism from someone outside. Cheers

      The lip smacking thing the Bolton player does makes it unwatchable for me. 😞 which is a shame as both factions are interesting to me.

  • @tyrannosaurus696
    @tyrannosaurus696 Před 4 lety

    Seems like this game has lots of balance issues which makes it not much fun to play fluffy lists. Surely the USP of this game is fluffy lists? Even if the dice had been a little better, I can't see the outcome being any different, especially considering all of the other batreps where the Baratheons have been stomped. I was interested in this game, but it's a hard pass for me after seeing the faction imbalance.

    • @stravblardo2624
      @stravblardo2624 Před 4 lety +1

      This game is one of the better balanced table top games I've played. In the past month I've seen Free Folk, Night's Watch, Neutrals, and Lannisters all win tournaments. There's usually some Stark lists in the top 5 also.
      Owen is playing a new faction that doesn't have a lot of options. He's refusing to use neutral units to bolster his options (his choice, I plan to do the same if Martells come out), so he is fighting at a large disadvantage.
      He also went all-in on Stag Knights, one of the most expensive units in the game. Probably the weakest unit for Baratheons right now, and he spent 20 points on 2 activations for them. AND he had terrible luck.
      Don't judge this game on Owen's attempts to learn a new faction while handicapping himself and rolling poorly.
