- This is the one hundred and thirty first of the remastered Lorcan Film Unit Videos. There is a total of 10 hours worth of film that we hope to publish over time. Unfortunately Leslie Crowe who was the Director and creator of much of this content is no longer with us. So we are hoping to get your help to figure out the places and the names of the people he captured.
If you turn on the Closed Captions "CC" on the video to see what we know about the footage so far.

The ship at 2 minutes: "Kilkenny" was a B&I vessel built by the Liffey Dockyard 1937 as a cattle ship. The area enclosed by the railway curve is between North Strand Junction and where the railway crosses the Royal Canal north of Connolly Station.
Mr Good was not Flutter, but "Fluther". Fluthered means drunk, so we can guess about this man's habits. He was a character in the "Plough and the Stars" by O'Casey.
Two shots of horse & cart, first coming up Custom House Quay, (with view of City Quay across the river), then passing Brooks, Thomas building suppliers at the corner of Lower Abbey Street and Lower Gardiner Street, since replaced by a building of the Irish Life Centre.
