It's really noticeable how smartly dressed most of the people in the film are. The men in suits and ties, the women in smart coats.

It would have been a much safer era that women could have walked anywhere in the city at any time.

@@Paul5520 and how is it working out for you now? Dublin is now a globalist sewer, with the Irish well underway to becoming minorities in their own homelands. The beautiful tradition you see in this footage has been replaced by liberal insanity where to even publically deny that "men can't get pregnant and only women have uteruses" can get your career destroyed. Our children are being brainwashed with LGBT propaganda in schools but hey... "at least we're not all speaking German" 🙄

I grew up in Ireland and wonder if this footage is more 1950s and early 1960s. For those who romanticize that Ireland, note Nelson's Column starting around the 18-20 sec mark. It dominated the Dublin/O'Connell Street skyline until blown up by the IRA in 1966.

Nelson's PILLER not Column. The former in Dublin, one could climb (but one was considered only a Dubliner/jackeen if ye didnt climb it). The latter, the Column, is in Traflagar Sq in London and ye cant climb that!!

Dublin has developed very quickly since the 50’s or 60’s. Ireland’s now much more commercial and prosperous than what it used to be like decades ago!
