@@Paul5520 and how is it working out for you now? Dublin is now a globalist sewer, with the Irish well underway to becoming minorities in their own homelands. The beautiful tradition you see in this footage has been replaced by liberal insanity where to even publically deny that "men can't get pregnant and only women have uteruses" can get your career destroyed. Our children are being brainwashed with LGBT propaganda in schools but hey... "at least we're not all speaking German" 🙄
I grew up in Ireland and wonder if this footage is more 1950s and early 1960s. For those who romanticize that Ireland, note Nelson's Column starting around the 18-20 sec mark. It dominated the Dublin/O'Connell Street skyline until blown up by the IRA in 1966.
Nelson's PILLER not Column. The former in Dublin, one could climb (but one was considered only a Dubliner/jackeen if ye didnt climb it). The latter, the Column, is in Traflagar Sq in London and ye cant climb that!!
What an absolute sewer my beautiful town has become.
It's really noticeable how smartly dressed most of the people in the film are. The men in suits and ties, the women in smart coats.
We had class back then
Dublin looks beautiful back then.
"....Like Atlantis, you just disappeared from view!"
Beautiful. Well before my time but still, beautiful.
Beautiful footage, beautiful music.... pity Dublin has been destroyed from this once beautiful cityscape.
Fantastic video.
It would have been a much safer era that women could have walked anywhere in the city at any time.
Its great to think my dad grew up there, and my.grandma had a stall selling fuit and veg, love looking at my history from uk
John, If they were Irish, You should apply for your Ireland passport

Two people and two bags would make the cabin of the Austin-Healey very cramped! Lots of interesting shots.
The final clip (3:45 onwards) looks like Galway City with Hill's shoe shop
Scottish song. You should have no difficulty finding an Irish one, they wrote a few.

So says you!!!😱✌
Yeah but it's more popularly sung in Ireland and not meant would know it's origins so it doesn't much matter.

Dublin has developed very quickly since the 50’s or 60’s. Ireland’s now much more commercial and prosperous than what it used to be like decades ago!
Ireland was very poor until recently!!
Changed entirely. we are lucky to have these beautiful archived films to look back on
Yes we got Richer in money 💷yet poorer in kindness 💚
