Besides the great car and tune. What a great father and Son relationship! Good on you guys. Beautiful!
Good God in Heaven!!!........I'm sold
I remember thinking my tune/exhaust 996tt was a monster. Now I've upgraded turbos and a bunch of other parts, making 731 hp to all 4 wheels. Now that is scary!
You guys should add some intercoolers now. The extra boost really puts strain on the stock intercoolers. Also remember to check for boost leaks, especially if you're only seeing .9 bar but expecting to see 1 bar.
Great video and great editing! Gives me some ideas for mine.
😁👍
I always loved the 996 great video guys! I appreciate the lack of foul language, hard to find these days.
Son will come from Chicago on Friday working on my 987 not sure what is on his mind but as an owner of 1989 911 RUF , 2005 987 and just sold his 550 I trust what he will do. Son Dad projects are super exciting.
Great vid guys. Actually helped me with a decision to buy the same car for myself and 14 year old son to play with... Tune is a must on these. Thank you.
Awesome!
@jrgarage I think you should do a 996 turbo build 😏
I have a Porsche turbo s 2005 and it started at 450hp and it now has 560hp. I’ve put a bigger turbo and lowered it I put an exhaust on it I forgot what it is I’ve got a better clutch short shifter and GT2 intercoolers and I’m hoping to try to get 600hp! Nice turbo by the way!
I was driving a 996 Turbo at 105 in a 35 yesterday. Nothing to be proud of but it was in an industrial area, nobody else around, and I got there super quick. As soon as I hit it I came back down. These cars are quick!
Best looking Porsche 996 Turbo just beautiful as for the power your Porsche is at the urban thud ridge !
all right, i'm in shopping phase for a sports car, i have been torn between 996 c4s, 997 cS, 996TT, SHELBY GT350 used for a long time, and i got to say i'm all excited to drive my next 996TT that i did not even find yet !!
Nice video, makes me want to put some pull type videos on my channel, thanks for sharing!
You can physically see and hear the difference just watching a video, so good job done. Lovely condition. Upgrade brakes, coilovers, engine mounts sway bars and and boom - modern supercar
Good looking ride. Did you perform data logging after the tune was loaded? This is a must, as there is no such thing as one size fits all.
hi
I love your videos, they are so great/
I have same 911 turbo, and want to do this.
are there any problems after 2 years? how is it? was it good? any electronics or engine damage or turbo or pressure problem or trouble?
its a great idea.
I want to do it to mine, exact same model.
it seem so easy, almost too easy
you two are super funny lol
My Softronics safe tune I see 1.2 bar. Did you have the diverter valves upgraded to handle the extra boost?
I want a 996 Turbo now
Would have been nice to see dyno numbers before and after. The 996 turbo must be the deal of the certury at this time. They are affordable and if you find one with low mileage, one or two owners, a good and complete service history file, they are the one to buy. I almost bought a similar turbo at about the same time, last spring. It also had a tune and a few other mods, and it was a beast as yours is now. The only reason I didn't buy it was that the owner had an out of state title, and did not want to change it over to a California title before the sale. Here in California the seller needs to have a California title and recent smog certificate on his car to make sure it can be registered due to smog laws. I didn't want to risk buying a car only to find out it did not comply with all the California regs., and therefore could not be registered here.
I got mine out of state, I did not have any problems with smog in California (but it was stock)
Such amazing cars and still a great deal. My 2003 turbo makes over 700 hp now and I love every minute!
Wow guys awesome video!
You should take the car to protomotive, they’re the best internationally with 911’s. It’ll blow your mind.
Probably shouldn't say "We're doing 80 90 mph in a 25 mph zone" on camera lol ijs
Clint Hightower They white they can do that😜
Great video and love the car! My car has a GT640 upgrade from Porsche of America. Guess the horsepower? 640. My 0-60 is 2.9 seconds with a 10.4 1/4 mile.
Manual or tip? What fuel mods and fuel?
you guys gotta try driving 996 gt2. I don't believe there are many cars scarier than it
Welcome to turbo charged cars
great :)
In 2003 a friend took me for a drive in his new 911 , after that I was in . test drive one
Does it damage the car in anyway?
Also which tune did you buy?
Can’t begin to imagine……. stock Turbo tip introduced me to Jesus 😳
Driven/riden many many fast toys…… never experienced such brutal savagery…..
🇬🇧 2001 turbo tip
Would love to see some draggy times of the before and after
The kit should come with a “G” suit!
It won't be long until you get used to the power and you'll be wanting even more.
If you never had any tickets b4
.....lol
Stock brakes?
Could this be done to a 996 non-turbo? would it make any difference?
@CanisMalus Bruh
Stock boost is low, only 0.6-0.7 bar ... loading a tune bumps ya to around 0.9 bar .... but upgrading turbos & intercoolers for stage 2 is kick ass ... 1.4 bar, with boost coming on a much lower rpms.
If interested my amateur video of a 996TT stage 2 install: czcams.com/video/sEhySEAkcNQ/video.html .. which included a COBB stage 2 tune.
Hmm - yes Porsche detunes a bit to normalize fuel and conditions across the world, but there are hidden tradeoffs of going from stock - way more thermal loads, mechanical stresses, wear and tear - if you want longevity keep it stock. Shopping for a 996tt? I avoid tuned cars - more stress on that $$$ engine and its likely to be driven harder or why else tune? Just something to think about.
The metzger engine in the turbo can take a lot more power in its stock form. 500 hp is nothing in its stock form.
@@rossishima yes agree it can take it and more - but I was talking about longevity. More power is more wear and stress - simple as that.
Playing devil's advocate here, but why Vivid? Sponsored video?
Custom tune - 99% not.
Vivid don’t answer the phones anymore
Hard to trust anyone who can ride around with a twisted seatbelt shoulder strap, let alone two people... get it together!
vivid software LOL one of the worst tunes on the market. do some homework try todd at protomotive, cobb tuning or enre from es motors. hell even a crap giac tune is better than a vivid
32krazy1 I was hoping they’d do the Cobb tune/umw/markski....
cobb tune protomotive or umw. markski is a hack wouldnt let him tune my lawnmower
32krazy1 why would you say this? Did your lawn mower overboost and run lean due to Markski?
Really curious as I'm considering using him to tune my 996 turbo
do what you like. i have seen and paid the large bill after he supposedly built a 996tt motor for a friend of mine. damage was staggering. theres plenty of actual good tuners out there. protom
otive being one of the best.
32krazy1 what build did he do?
What damage was done?
BS...80 HP through a ECU flash. Vivid , your liars
Uh....nope. Pretty accurate actually lol
Not hard with a turbo car.
Not impressed, soft suspension allows aggressive squat.
Talk is cheap...
AWD and scary in the rain? You must not really know how to drive ...
