- Grand Tourer Ep8 - In this episode, it's a week or so out from the All Ford show at Geelong and the boys are readying a few of the cars for the show. But first up in this episode is something I haven't shown you before, an original or unrestored car. It's a 1970 factory V8 Ford Fairmont in for some mechanical upkeep and backdating and bringing back to factory spec. it's a fascinating insight to just some of the other work Grand Tourer does besides the high end restorations they are known for.
Twice weekly visits to classic auto workshops featuring cars from the veteran to RADwood eras & including car restoration, rebuilds, repairs and restomods to anything from Aussie V8s, American muscle cars, Euro exotics, JDM, your coveted everyday runabout and more. If it's built before 1999, there's every chance I'll film it.
My name is Dave and I simply l love old cars and visiting workshops to chat to the people working on them. Added to that, I devour car content on youtube so I thought I'd join in and make some myself.

I love every time you visit Grand Tourer. Such passion from Dan and the team. I've only ever owned Falcons/Fairmonts. XY is my favorite Falcon and I've been working hard for the last 3years to hopefully soon afford one. A 500 will do me.

Hey Dave, thanks so much for the tour. I think you had the XR GT (1967) in mind when you were asking Dan about the colour (GT Gold) which is quite similar to the Nugget Gold found on this Fairmont. Really enjoy your Workshop Tours, especially when you call in to Grand Tourer. The guys there do such a fantastic job. Keep up the good work. 👌

Technically you were right the original GT first came out a few years before as an XR Falcon .
cool ,rhd 2:52 the power steering pump and alt. Loctation s are same as U.S. cars , radio antenna windscreen wipers are opposite of U.S cars ,9:59 opposite of U.S cars our gear shifter is PRND21
