I was thinking that it definitely sounds like two 6 cykinder commodores drag racing. Definitely cool though.

@@DontBeDraft85I mean a v12 is 2 inline 6s put in a v just like a v8 is 2 inline 4s put in a v a cross plane v8 is 2 cross plane inline 4s and a flat plane v8 is 2 flat plane inline 4s

This is the 5.7 litre v12 not the 6 or 6.5 litre. It was never going to sound how people thought it would.

Yes and No I feel like the rev limiter and engine choice let It down what happened to the 12 thousand RPM screaming monster was supposed to be?

would hae been way cooler with an 8hp90 8 speed. could have used a stock trans, and the turbo lamik tcu for about $3500 and it runs with any ecu and drives like factory bmw/hellcat with the 8 speed.

When you fit a Ferrari V12 but a 202 with triples sounds better!! Maybe a different exhaust config. Even Harry's garage Jag V12 sounds more V12-y than this currently.
A 202 with triples never makes power past 4000rpm, they just make noise and hiss. The 186 was a better revving motor, and boring them to 202 whilst keeping the 186 head for higher compression was the better way to go. The factory 202 was never as good as a big bore 186. Even then, they didn't make power after a certain rev range, the dyno printouts always showed either a drop off or a flatline.

Well you've made the V6 commodore community happy by using the sound effects from a VT V6 to hide the iconic Ferrari sound for the video.
Its not about a million hp its the point of doing sumthing different and the engineering behind it all its a first its legendary see it for wat it is. Great feat guys well done.

@@carisi2k11 You can run whatever you want as long as you retain cats as long as it doesn't exceed the dB limit and the exit location complies with whatever arbitrary nonsense they've come up with.

@@pieflies Realistically you could run cats + resonators to get it *just* below the dB limit not under load and it'd sound very similar.

A close ratio 5 or 6 speed manual is what a high revving Ferrari V12 is screaming out for.
Lucky my brother's LC two door had a 138, if we had that V12, God would be writing this. So bloody fantastic. Well done to your vision, persistence and collaborators.

Sounds weird not having that V8 noise but it just goes to show regardless of what power plant you stick under the bonnet of any car, you end up with a beast if it's done right. Great job guys!

Funny enough it doesn't sound much different then the six banger it come with from factory or am I trippin tell me that doesn't sound like a 265 Holden worked
You should have straight piped that motor there's nothing like the scream of an NA Ferrari V12 especially considering that motor is a detuned Enzo motor but only by 40hp.

Sound of the car just don't meet the expactation of 11 000 rpm screaming engine. Don't get me wrong, but that sounded huge blower (bumblebee similar build) at no blow and slow mow.

Often when I see Aussie classic vehicles they remind me of the Canadian versions of American vehicles all the way back to the muscle car era of the mid to late 60s, slowly into the 70s.
Been waiting to see this. Not sure why people are complaining about the exhaust note in the comments, it’s such a cool thing, and obviously wasn’t easy to pull off.

maybe the video audio might sound different in person, but yeah I think something needs to be done with the exhaust? Maybe titanium straight pipes, could always do some AES cutouts?
........and idk, not my car not my money, but I feel a manual of sorts would have been better? Rowing gears with a V12 would have been cool. Dunno what box would fit or work with it all tho, glides are pretty small no?

What a cool beast but yer the sound was too muffled and had no scream to it. Ferrari was known for the screaming V12, that sounds like a tractor. Please do the car some justice and update the exhaust on it. Its defiantly a head turner and hopefully should put smiles on many peoples faces including yours.
Time for some turbos!! @DDE did it with a similar engine possibly even the same engine but seemed to work great for them they are now building a gymkhana style car with the set up

Well sounds very different to what I was expecting going to be a cool LC now. You need a Ferrari style rid shop sticker now on the screen the old sticker looks out of place. Love it Heath all the best from xa wagon family in the UK.

You really need an equal length tube header exhaust to make it sing cause it sounds like you've got 2 straight six 202's under the bonnet.

OHC vct AU engine engine would have been a better choice , or even a 253 stroke to 283 using the 3.250 crank

That literally sounds like a 4.3 v6 vortec😢. Yall need to make a custom 12 to 2 equal length header and ditch those chambered mufflers to straight through muffler from vibrant performance

I had an LC. I chased a BMW along the Federation highway and I was catching it. I was at about 105 mph and I was catching him. But I had to drop back because the car started to float, very narly. With that motor and gear box I still think it will still be too light at speeds over 160kph. Wish it was mine though. 😎👍

should be called castlemaine rod parts shop,not a rod shop when you cant take a car there to have work done,they make parts but was told they dont fit them. got everything done local to me in the end at a proper rod shop.
