The congratulating one is so real though. When my first boyfriend dumped me for another person in high school, I was devastated. As I healed though people I had never talked to were coming up to me and telling me how they had never seen me this happy and would compliment my smile. I never knew how miserable I actually was until I got out of it.
My ex husband was very toxic. I was mostly blind to it until I got with my current husband. Something about finally being treated right makes you look back and see how poorly you were treated before.
my friends had the same reaction when I broke up with my bf the 'first' time in 2022... then when we got back together they could only shake their heads.. now we've broken up again this year.. they were breathing a sigh or relief.. meanwhile, I feel like I wasted a whole 2 years of my life dating someone I could have easily just 'maybe friends' with... oh well lesson learned
Same. I had no 9je to help me get out either and a lot of the people around me were toxic too. I ended up having to plan an escape after many failed attempts to leave. I wish more people understood how devastating abusive relationships are, and to not hold it against people when they are stuck and talking about the abuse.
I remember how I copied a girl's hairstyle and fashion style, which were really just low ponytails + t-shirt + jeans. I even started adopting her habit to shake her head whenever she made a mistake. And all of that were rooted from my admiration for the girl bc not only was she a good friend, everyone simply adored her. Being the neglected kid I was, it was me wanting to be accepted.
Glad I grew out of that habit and I've long matured since then. I got my own style which I love. Looking back, I realised how creepy I was being, but at least I was just an elementary school kid, not a grown woman like the Hannah lady.
The fact that Hanna's hubby isn't protesting all her copycats of his ex makes it seem as though he's still very much stuck on said ex and Hannah knows it.

Re: The "trashy" ear piercing. I got the second lobe piercing done when I was like 10, and I wondered what my sorta conservative Catholic grandma would think of it. It wasn't until seeing her again that I realized my GRANDMA had the same "trashy" piercing!
I got my nose and lip pierced at 16. My mom allowed it. But low and behold i didnt even have it in for 1 year. I kept losing them and i kind of grew out of the phase. In older now and i redid my nose and have added 2 ear piercings now 🤣
Not uncommon for older folks to have multiple piercings. Or even old catholic ladies with a couple tattoos

I totally went and followed the lady to know more about that saga. THAT'S INSANE!!!!! I would take all this proof, highlight the dates so he can see it's always 4 days later, then show the ex-hubby. Tell him to keep his crazy woman from my family, stop talking to her about me, AND he won't see our daughter together until she is gone. I feel bad for that crazy woman's child.

I had a classmate who'd copy whatever my friend did. She one day overheard me saying i wanted one of those crown tattoos with a few unique markers to personalize it. She had that tattoo the next f*ckn week 🙄. I didn't get the tattoo anymore and my friend was pissed that she copied me. She had a small petty revenge by telling me once she'd cut her long hair to a short bob, curl the ends and color streaks of it red. I was surprised but said she'd still rock it not knowing that copygirl was sitting behind me. Next week her hair was diy cut short, with red streaks and diy curled (burnt at the ends). She was mad😂😂🤣 and she demanded to know why my friend didn't cut and color her hair. My friend simply said she changed her mind 😂🤣 a real friend right there ❤
My little sister copies me and my other younger sister. I would come out wearing a very specific outfit that no one in my family would wear but me and she would come out of her room, see me or my sister wearing some outfit and she would rush in her room to change her outfit to match. I have a slight lactose problem and now she claims she does as well. She'll say she likes something and me being older, I would maybe say that I wasn't into it because I'm not the target audience and she would change her mind and say how much she dislikes that thing. My other younger sister would mention how she wants to decorate her room (she likes cottagecore and my little sister is more sporty) and suddenly my little sister wants her room to be cottagecore too. When my parents ask us for our Christmas lists she always tries to ask me and my sister what we wanted and always tries to wrap them so she can see. She just bought a ton of shirts in the style that I've been wearing for years that she never liked or knew about until I wore them. My other younger sister is good at playing music by ear so she got a kalimba, piano, flute, and guitar and then suddenly my little sister wanted all of those as well (which is funny since she has never shown any interest in music and once she got them and realized she had to actually learn to play them, she forgot about them and now they are super dusty). I have fine hair and it's shorter while my little sister has long and thick hair. She now claims that her hair is fine hair as well. I get that she is a teenager but it's still annoying because it's like she can't be original or anything and she never copies anyone else.

A close friend of mine, let's call call her Angie for the sake of this story, had a similar situation like the first one. Her long time friend, let's call her Mary, tried to copy pretty much everything - clothes, hair, places to go, etc. She even had THE AUDACITY to hit on Angie's ex, not much time after they broke up! There's only one logical explanation: jealousy. Angie is a beautiful woman and a beautiful person, inside and outside, and I think Mary envied her so much, that she simply tried to be her. Me and Angie even named her "clone" 😂 Needless to say, all of this mess finished their friendship, which in the end was a good ending for everyone 😃

That thing about constantly putting yourself in hurtful situations, but also complaining about it; is what a couple of my good friends called “playing in traffic”. And that’s the best way to put it I’ve heard so far.

I had a female stalker a few years ago. She started by copying everything I wore (we lived in two storey town houses...she lived next door). I would step out my door in the morning and a few minutes later she would walk out in the same outfit. Then she dyed her hair to match mine. I still did not understand that she was toxic. Then she started calling me three to four hundred times a day. I could not pick up my phone without her being there. Finally, my husband answered the phone and she demanded to speak with me. She said she would be there every time we tried to use the phone. He gave the phone to me. She proceeded to tell me I should ignore her at my own peril. She then told me she had poured sugar in my gas tank, and that was only the beginning she was going to follow me on one of my runs and "take me out" because there could only be one redhead in the neighborhood. We called the police who put a trap on our phone for evidence collection. She was caught on tape telling me that I no longer existed because she had taken my place. They arrested her when that came to light. We were military which meant we had certain specific rules of behaviour. She was evicted from her home and faced several criminal charges. Her husband lost his career and she went to jail. The detectives told me later that I should have reported her as soon as I realized she was stalking me. I did not because I thought no one would believe me. My husband had the good sense to know that she was dangerous. I thought she was pathetic for not having a life of her own. I was wrong...he was right. If you have a stalker, report them. They often can and sometimes do devolve to violence. I was lucky she was caught before she could carry out her plans. This was when people were just starting to take identity theft and stalking more seriously. I think that is why they were so heavy-handed with her.
The problem is that the obsession becomes worse the longer it goes on. So, if nothing is done, they ALWAYS devolve to crazy levels, although there are some people who are just awkward.

She said the baby mama dropped it off which to me implies she consensually gave it to them to use. I was on food stamps for six months after getting laid off and it was like double my normal monthly grocery budget adding in six kids she probably had way more than she could reasonably spend. When I was on SNAP I started shopping at Whole Foods instead of Food 4 Less and still couldn't spend it all so I would buy things for my roommate.

The story of the “I got congratulated for leaving a toxic relationship” reminds me of when in high school my best friend would constantly tell me about her abusive boyfriend. I got so sick of hearing about it when he was belittling her on the phone one day I grabbed the phone and yelled like Satan into it. She was happy at first but after they hung out she was very mad at me for “disrespecting her boyfriend” I ended the friendship after that.
Abusive relationships don't just hurt the people in them. I'm sorry you had to lose your friend like that, and I hope she eventually learned better & respects herself more now💕

@@yukitakeru4719 I wouldn’t be so bold like that. Abusive relationships ends up in the abuser convincing their victims that they’re nothing without them and that they are their only source of protection. In psychology it’s called “the trauma bond”
I did the exact same thing!! I literally grabbed the phone (after hearing countless hours of how shitty he was) and yelled like an actual demon at him, even saying “diiiiiiieeeeeeeeeees” 😳 which is out of character for me, but I was fed tf up and truly despised this dude. Sadly, she still dates guys who she always complains about. She’s still my best friend but we’ve drifted apart in recent years… it’s sucks 💔 I still check in on her…. I just don’t know what to do for her anymore

I had a stalker at my church, of all places. We were in the same youth group together, but I'd noticed this girl was copying my haircut and clothes, and only listened to my favorite bands. As time went on it got worse and it became apparent that she wanted to be me. I was always polite to her but one day I'd had enough. I loved creating outfits and sewing my own clothes in high school and got lots of compliments on them. One time I spent a lot of time making a cute white dress with tiny cherries in the pattern, and I was really proud of it. A couple weeks go by and she comes up to me to show me the dress she'd made: it was an exact copy of my dress. It was pretty creepy.

@@kissit012 EXACTLY. I've known people who ALWAYS end up bitching & moaning about the person they're with or their ex's. Eventually I come to realize that if you constantly have the same issues with everyone you come in contact with...and the common denominator is them, I don't think it's "other people" that are the problem...

This was my situation. Both my best friends left me after they couldn't take repeating themselves and feeling like they weren't a priority. After I finally broke up with my toxic ex and got therapy for my mental health, I realized that he has emotionally abused me so much to the point that I thought I was a whore for just wanting to go out with friends. and I'm talking about getting Boba drinks and food. I never even went clubbing or dancing like most girls my age. He had such a tight hold on me that I felt like I was wrong if it wasn't his way and that I was a horrible girlfriend. Emotional abuse is something serious. I literally would have major panic attacks if I so much as even wanted to ask him if I could go out.

She looooves to talk smack about me and my parenting, yet I have the relationship with my kids where we can talk about things and if they mess up, we discuss it and how they can do better. They show compassion, kindness, respect, and empathy towards others. SHE yells and screams at her child, doesn't show affection to her children, constantly tries to belittle wtf I'm doing, yet she can't get her kids to listen and the older one runs away from her when she's correcting her because, well, she screams at her all the time. My kids always come home telling me that they feel bad for her kids because she doesn't show love and support. Her daughter is bullied on the bus, bullied at school, and her response? Tough. It'll build character. There are so many kids out here losing their lives to bullying, so how does it build character when it's causing serious emotional and mental pain? My daughter cut 14" off her hair and donated it to Locks of Love. Why? Because I've taught them about certain foundations and charities, etc. I want my children to grow up to be compassionate and loving people. My baby girl, who was 8 when she did this, was so scared that her stepmom was going to say some nasty things that she literally cried about it after and was sick to her stomach from anxiety and fear over it for almost 2 weeks before she had to go back to her dad's. (It wasn't even short! It came to her shoulders for goodness sakes!) So, me being the mom that I am, I made damn sure to send a pic to her father and his mother and, very proudly I might add, tell them that she donated it to Locks of Love. In fact, the pic I sent was her standing with the bag of her hair, smiling so brightly and happy, and I said this: "She's extremely happy with her hair and for donating 14" to a foundation she feels strongly about. I am SO PROUD of how much compassion and love she has shown for others and she looks absolutely adorable with her new haircut. ANYONE says ANYTHING negative to tear down her confidence, there will be irreparable and serious consequences. She's a CHILD. Therefore, if anyone has anything to say, say it to ME, NOT to my 8 year old daughter." and the responses I got back from his mom was "she looks cute!" and her father didn't say anything at all... but I had a conversation with his mother right before his weekend and I emphasized that NO ONE better say anything negative to her because then all hell would break loose. Look, I'm not going to cause hell in your life just because... I'll ruin his life, or anyone else's, if they intentionally hurt my children in any shape or form because they want to be childish... their stepmom is an adult, yet my children show more maturity than her or their father. Sad, but true. When she got home Sunday, I asked her how things went. She told me that everything went great and the only thing that was said about her hair was when she first got in the car at drop off and she was told "it looks cute" and then nothing else was said. Good. If you can't be nice to a child, then don't speak to them. It's been many, many years of a lot of drama and bullsh!t and it's all because I'm the ex and ohh how horrible of me to make him take responsibility for his children. The issue is that he would look bad to his family, even though he already does, so he does the bare minimum. His wife makes comments any chance she gets, taking jabs at my daughter for everything.. I have said it numerous times - if you have a problem, deal with me, not my child. She's a CHILD! If people knew the things that have been done/said, there'd be a mob outside of their house, pitchforks in hand. It's been bad, really, really bad. So, for the mom making the TT video... your child's stepmom is another one of those women who feel like they have to "best" you and then her child starts bugging her for things that you've allowed your daughter to do (because her daughter is 13 and probably looks up to her stepsister. Remember, children are the innocent ones in these messes)

For many years I had a next door neighbour exactly like this, list of things she copied- getting a conservatory, new sofa, new kitchen work tops and tiles exact same colour, painted kitchen cupboards the exact same colour, re-do of cloakroom exactly the same fittings. Every room we decorated she did the same. All of this within a couple of months of us doing these things. Shoe horning her child into same clothes/size as my daughter, who had been ill and lost a lot of weight. Same illness' for herself and daughters especially the one in my daughters school class. Hair/clothes/makeup/jewelry. The list goes on. It drove me mad. Sister Pyscho.

That's interesting about leaving 7 times before leaving for good. So many times I went no contact with family, and always got dragged back in. Now it's permanent. I relate to the first story soooooo much. When I was 24 or so I had 2 friends, a girl and a boy. I had known them for years at that point, me and her had sleepovers and all that jazz. She liked the guy but he wasn't interested, he liked me but I didn't want anything, so we were just friends. Then it started to get creepy because she started to copy my clothes and my hobbies, she wanted to be together all the time, she even started to act like me (I'm a weirdo lol) and all. I didn't mind because she was my friend and I was like "meh, when you are close to another person, you catch their mannerisms". But then she finally started something with the guy and she became POSSESIVE AF and creepy. She even copied an idea I had for a tattoo that had a really really deep and personal meaning for me. It was a memorial for a friend that died years prior, a guy that she didn't even knew, and it was a pretty peculiar tattoo, she got it done before me because I had no money at the time. The last time I talked with her was New Years of 2010 or so. I was talking to the guy, as friends, like we always did, and she suddenly stood between us and started making out with the guy, gross af. She doesn't know that the guy talked to me months after and he wanted to make amends with me. Also, he wanted me and the girl to be friends again but I didn't want to go back to that messiness. He even told me that night "You know that I wanted to have your name tattoed on me". BOY, you doged a bullet there, thank God he didn't do it. Now I see her every week at the mall I work at, because she works there too, and she gives me dirty looks all the time lol. Girl, I didn't do a thing and it was more than 10 years ago, get over it. They even have a child, but I don't think that they are together now. I prefer not to ask because I don't want to be murdered in my sleep lol.

I had a copycat almost a year ago. I’m surprised I forgot her name but it’s for the best. We were both looking for a roommate and connected online to rent out a place together. Things were fine at first, but the more we interacted, the more I could see her copying me. She started copying the type of bed I had, my bedroom layout, she was hinting at getting a hamster after I had just gotten a hamster. I told her I wanted to dye my hair pink and the next day she comes in with pink hair lol. I just left mine blonde. She was even trying to get her bf to copy the relationship I had with my bf, it was weird. Eventually she had moved in her bf without telling me and he wasn’t paying any portion of rent - all without consulting me. I got outta the lease and didn’t have to pay any fees. A few months later, I was browsing OfferUp (because I moved somewhere else but same general area) and happened to see her selling many things. I thought she was breaking her lease early, and it was confirmed when the leasing office called me about some of my missed DMV letters and they mentioned that apt was vacant for a while 😂 Karma - cause the fee to break the lease early was very expensive!

(gladly) Her and her husband Ben have absolutely nothing to do with anyone else in my family, including me, my father, my mom, etc. Here’s what happened. My mom was married to Ben (Hannah’s husband now) before I was born. He was, let’s just put it at rude bc there are other words I would like to say that I can’t. Anyway, they were divorced and just note that my sister was born then. But after Ben married Hannah and my mom married my dad and had me. Then it was back and forth custody and a lot of therapy we had to take her to. They were the worst people you could’ve ever met. I’m talking taking her VERY LAST PILLOW AND BLANKET and making her sleep on THE FLOOR. But long story short after some time they had a court case and Ben never showed up, so my mom and dad adopted my sister. She is my full sister bc my mom had her. Not Hannah. (also gladly) The reason we adopted her was solely for the fact that they could not have custody over her. Now everything is good and we’re all doing great! Don’t hesitate to ask anymore questions
