They have the audacity…the AUDACITY to ask her for a FAMILY recipe even though they went behind her back and had an AFFAIR. There is no way in HELL that I would ever give a family recipe to people who aren’t family. If she doesn’t consider them family, then they are not family. Even if they had a child together. That child does not make them family because family is chosen.
Let's also not forget that he WEAPONIZED the daughter!!! Likely told her a bittersweet story, likely of how this new child coming will be her half-sibling and they'll need to be close, and if Mom doesn't hand over the recipe, she'll never know what it's like to have a sibling.
My ex wanted my lasagna recipe. I have no recipe, it's mostly by taste and varies. So I gave him the list of what I put in it... that was not acceptable to him. Oh darn.

The one about McDonald's has a bit of a back story. This man lived in the house with the other kids for a bit of time, so much so that they were calling him Dad. The kids feel bad about their "Dad" only bringing McDonald's for their brother and not them. I feel bad for the kids, not either of the adults.
I always thought she was being reasonable, honestly, knowing the backstory. She's protecting her other children, not trying to be greedy for the sake of it.
Is he required to? no. but would any decent person bring enough for all of the kids? yes. The kids should not suffer nor be punished for them breaking up. Kids also have a hard time understanding the situation, so they just see it as the other kid being loved more and treated differently.

The kidney one is the least likely to be real out of all of them. There are so many things that are needed to be able to donate a kidney and for someone else to be able to receive it. The odds that this guy found no familial matches with his kidney but just happened to have a girlfriend who was a match is unlikely. Not impossible, but highly improbable.

My mom made the most AMAZING butter horn rolls for holiday dinners. When my dad left her for the woman he was having an affair with, he asked her for the recipe. She told him a resounding, "Oh, hell no! It was handed down to the women in our family, and that wasn't you." Years later, he asked ME to get it for him. Told him "Sorry, but mom said no." Some time after that, my mom and I were talking about it. She told me that it was a recipe out of the standard Betty Crocker cookbook. 😂

My ex-husband doesn't have his mother's recipes. He told me to get them from her so I did. His second wife doesn't cook and never asked for them. I'm currently compiing recipes from my large family and I'm putting them in there. His mom passed away now and he will never see the recipes. My kids wil have them though.

The hair appointment thing happened to my mom after I was born. She went to get her hair done , taking me with her in my car-seat at the time, and the hair stylist was talking to her coworker as she cuts my mom's hair about the "hot date" she was going on to that night with a cowboy. As she is doing my mom's hair, my mom is listening to this, not even shocked. The hair stylist says my father's name. After she was done with my mom's hair my mom tells her, "Oh by the way, Montia is my husband... Hope you have fun," and doesn't tip her. 8 months after I was born my parents divorced... He went into hiding so he wouldn't have to pay the $100 a month on child support for both my brother and I... Which was low even then.... I am now 32 and he just finished paying back child support this year. He thought since we where grown he wouldn't have to pay so he finally got a job put from under the table when I was 18... Last time I spoke to him he asked me to do a DNA test to see if I was really his daughter, for some reason in his sick mind he thought my mom cheated on him because he couldn't remember the night I was conceived because he was so drunk when that happened, joke was on him because I did a 23 and me DNA test where his cousins and other relatives showed up and I told him. He hasn't called since.

I worked at a flower shop in Alaska for a couple of years and as soon as I got the job, I took an order from this guy for Valentine's flowers that he was sending to his girlfriend. As soon as he was done with the order, he hung up and then called me right back thinking I wouldn't realize he's the same guy and placed another order for Valentine's flowers to his second girlfriend! It was so awkward because I hand wrote special love notes from him to each one of them and then it got even worse because I was tasked with delivering both Arrangements to both his girlfriends. I am a die-hard honest and loyal person and I've literally never cheated on anyone ever so it took everything inside me not to tell on him but there's this whole issue of confidentiality when you work at a flower shop so I really couldn't say anything without losing my job. I wanted so bad to tell on his ass tho! Such an asshat!

My brother has some of my things in the bathroom because I would come over and stay over the weekend. He did get asked about those things by girls he brought over, and he would tell them "they're my sister's." He usually introduced me to the girls he dated. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't assume, and ask instead.
I work at a hotel, we were told from previous incidents that we couldn’t under any circumstance confirm or deny if people were at the hotel. We are were only allowed to email the people who made the reservations if they left items because, someone left their laptop on a “work trip” and an old employee called his wife.

I saw the original video this woman put out. It had a few different facts. She’s edited this one after a lot of comments on the first one that questioned her truthfulness. For instance she says they didn’t start dating until a year after he left her after “our” daughter died. In the original video she actually said “my” daughter leading a lot of people to question wether the baby was actually both of theirs or hers alone. And the fact that he started dating her a year after he left her, isn’t that what’s supposed to happen. Once you are single? The original video is also a little different about the $$ too but I can’t recall how. Anyway I don’t know what’s what but I’m just saying all situations like this have more than one side to them.

Yes, police officers are supposed to abide by high ethics & moral standards. I was in law enforcement for almost a decade & as a female deputy, I never acted inappropriately with any of the guys I worked with because I respected the job, I respect myself & I respect the institution of marriage. To me there is zero excuses for that shady ass behavior!

The McDonalds one made my blood boil. That woman needs a reality check. The father of the 4th kid is not in ANY WAY responsible for the other 3 kids. I love how he told her off. As someone who bakes alot and feels guilty for not handing out recipes to people I don't like, here's a petty idea:
Give the NON-TWEAKED version of the recipe. Or, if it isn't one you made, just tweak it to be less than perfect. Not bad, just -not as good. More sugar to be grittier, too much or too little flavoring, bake time, amount of flour, etc.
Makes you feel better since *technically* you shared, and it's a glorious feeling to watch them try to perfect it. Bonus points if they call you for advice so you can give them more misinformation!

Honestly the coffee thing is a good idea. It will let the guy know if she actually is interested instead of just interested in a free meal and they both have an easier option of leaving quickly if neither of them are feeling it.

As a member of a blended family, you can't have one kid eating in front of the other kids. He can do whatever he wants on his visitation time but when all the kids are together it's all or none. My dad used to bring food for me and my brother and all my other step siblings when he brought me food to my mom's house. You'll cause resentment and sibling rivalry if you single out one kid in a house which is unhealthy for all of them.
The coffee thing seems fair imo -- I'm a girl and if a guy paid for my dinner while that can feel nice, it makes me feel pressured into things or like he won't enjoy my company if we just left, unless he does it with extreme enthusiasm or something. The "date guilt" feeling can be strong, and in modern times I think splitting the first date removes the feelings of pressure on either party to do anything. Coffee is cute, casual, cheap, and a fun way to get to know each other. Not to mention, the OTHER party can feel uncomfy and want to leave at any point, and leaving with coffee in hand or drinking it fast and leaving is a lot easier than getting a friend to send you a fake text excuse to leave or spend like an hour+ with someone you realize you don't actually like.

The coffee thing...YES! First "dates" or meeting up should ALWAYS be something free or cheap. Not going to waste a dinner to get ghosted or "I'm not really digging you"...eff that. Coffee or a beer is a good start! Normalize coffee/beer dates!

omg the recipe thing really triggered me! Back when my now ex-husband left me and the kids (then demanded we move out of the house so he wouldn't have to pay rent leaving the kids and I homeless), he had the AUDACITY to call me one day looking for a recipe that I used to make for us as a family. He wanted to feed it to his new girlfriend and her daughter for pre-date night snacks! This was about 2 weeks after he left, three weeks after I lost a baby at 22 weeks pregnant. We hadn't been on a "date" in years. I told him he only has access to my FAMILY recipes when he is part of the FAMILY. Prick.
It would make more sense if they coordinated on giving the kids Mcd’s together. She can’t afford to get Mcd’s right now, he wants to treat their kid. I would NEVER bring anything for just 1 kid and not the rest, my child or not. If he wants his child to have McDonald’s, then actually take him to McDonald’s and spend time with him. Just wanting to say, that yes people who work in hotels DO see some "fun" stuff, my husband was a security guard at a hotel when him and I first got together and he had some fun stories like the people he had to escort off premesis because they were crawling around the halls naked while their "friend" led them around on a leash.
I used to work the front desk doing the night audit shift, overnights can get wild, I've seen some things.

I thought it was 60 percent? But yeah, regardless, I turn men down just for being in police training. Jobs like that always attract narcissists with violent tendencies., especially in a country where it's next to impossible for a police officer to be convicted for criminal behaviour.

I live in a town notorious for police corruption, dv is just one of many things they seem to get away with. Even 50 years ago it was when friend's grandpas dream to join the police but when he finally did, he quit immediately because he saw so much happening and wasn't going to risk saying something. Now I'm not saying all cops are bad, but considering it only takes 6 months or something crazy to be a cop here, it seems like an easy choice for someone with a huge power trip.

Like our police in the UK aren't exactly bastions of awesomeness either, but compared to the US cops, it's like night and day. A CZcamsr that I watch was basically chased out of town somewhere in the ass end of West Virginia by the rest of the locals who were literally coming for him and his kid with threats of violence, of burning down the house with them inside it, threats to his life, bullying, doxxing etc. All because he put in a complaint about the kids being taught that it was a sin to be LGBT, that their parents weren't raising them right, slut-shaming etc. She even said that she KNEW she wasn't meant to talk about religion in these classes and what the bible says, but she was going to do it anyway, and how she'd been doing it for years and she never got caught. They basically created a Facebook group and publicly discussed how to ruin their lives, spying on him, etc until they decided they had to flee not just the town, but the state... and of course the police did NOTHING because they were complicit, they were literally IN the group taking part in the lynch mob mentality.
In defense of the guy with the girl's stuff in his home, I had my sister as my roommate when we first left our parent's house, and because we were siblings we didn't have that many boundaries about where each other's stuff could and couldn't be so there is a slight chance that he is just has a girl as his roommate. On the other hand, I always informed any girl I brought back home about it soo...
You are right, the girl should ask him just in case. I have a grown son and daughter who each have their own places in the city while I live rural. When I visit I stay with my bachelor son because my daughter has a bursting houseful with the grandkids. I leave stuff in his bathroom so I don't have to lug it again months later.

She's expecting him to pay for her other kids then gets mad when he doesn't, they're not his responsibility & she needs to go find their dad if she wants the other taken care of that way. I'm pretty sure if she asked nicely then he'd likely do it, but demanding someone take care of kids that aren't theirs is entitled as she's using seeing the child as a pawn in her game bc he only brings food for one.

So she was 100% willing to punish her kid and take food out of his mouth becuase she wanted him to pay for the others. As a parent you NEVER do that. I'm not even one and I know that is one of the WORST offenses a parent can commit to their child.
If anything, there's going to be resentment from the kid to the mom and his if/when he finds out she pulled that crap. That it's his siblings fault that his mom refused him food and/or time with his dad, AND was dumb enough to post to social media thinking he was the one going to be dragged (literally 99% of the comments dragged her for doing that)

The preacher is funny to me as I have 2 coworkers this made me think of; one recently divorced her long time preacher husband, who did some tawdry things, and another that was heavily involved in church until he saw all the cheating and sleeping around in the other church leaders, and it made him feel sick. Honestly, I thought she was gonna go real petty and she’d give him an intentionally altered recipe. And there’s two ways to go with that: quite wrong where it doesn’t taste very good and they’ll probably figure out you messed with them, or subtle petty where it’s just slightly altered or maybe an older variation where it just doesn’t taste quite as good so it’s always better when SHE makes it and her daughter will grow to know that mom just makes it better than step-mom. She could have gone so much meaner with this.
I’d probably keep the recipe to myself too, even if some think it petty. And just not deny making them for my daughter even when she wants to bring them over for her sibling (plus dad and step-mom). You can get along and be civil and pleasant with your ex and his new family for the sake of the kids and make sure it’s never unpleasant for them, but that doesn’t mean you have to be buddy buddy with them. It’s her call and it will probably evolve over the years. They are connected and stuck with each other for the life of their daughter, but that is not the same as being family in the emotional sense.

I would send list of ingredients, a few items at a time (of course not in proper mixing order). Followed by the proportion, with no indication on which amount is tied to which ingredient. Oh and list the instructions in random order too with vague description of the ingredients in the instructions for ultimate petty 😁

I need an update for that second story, I need to know that she grew a spine I won't give them the recipe. I think they're going to have to realize that their daughters might not have the best relationship, because eventually they're going to learn that their father cheated on one mom with the other. And while that's not the child's fault, there's going to be drama because of it. juristicly you are right, but as a decent human being with basic psychology and child behavior knowlage you never only get one kid something, thats fucked up. If he went out with that one kid that is his, its another story, but bringing one something and letting the others watch is a mess up, provocing a fit in the short term and resentment in the long term. Kids do not get that our laws say, he only has to feed one kid, they only get it is unfair and that they are treated like less for something they have nothing to do with and no control over . . .

One time, I was at a bar with my friend. One of our friends walked in, and he had someone with him. They sat down near us and we all got to talking and having fun. This guy had a roommate, and I’d hung out with this roommate once or twice. His name was Stu. Things got up close and personal with Stu and I, if you know what I mean. The friend we knew left the bar and got an Uber home since he was just a fully gone type of drunk, but his friend stayed behind. Her and I got to talking and Stu came up somehow. Through conversation, she realized I was seeing him a bit. I also realized. The guy and Stu had another roommate. STU’S GIRLFRIEND. THIS GIRL’S BEST FRIEND. So. The girl calls up the girlfriend. We meet up literally that night, not to fight or anything, but to talk. She had a feeling this was going on. We drink together and are having a fun night. She calls Stu. He shows up. She walks outside of the bar we were in at the time, but he walks up to me. He has this angry look on his face, but I stopped him in his tracks. I started tearing him down with words. This was years ago, so I don’t remember what I said exactly but it was something like, “what, you’re mad at me? What the F did I do? You’re an effing cheater. You’re a piece of S. F you, man.” And I literally slapped him in the face. I actually regret this part because I don’t condone violence and it could’ve caused a dangerous situation, but it felt badass at the time…? Lol. He didn’t end up saying a word to me and just walked out of the bar. The friend and I hung out a few times and had some.. revenge-fueled intimate moments 😂😂 but we didn’t end up having a real friendship. Friends on social media. I’ve seen Stu around once or twice since and he looks like such a loser now. It’s crazy how different he’d looked when I’d just met him.
