"I had a good run" haha He literally had one of the greatest NBA finals runs ever. So humble! Love Dirk
The Mavs had one of the greatest runs I’ve ever seen. I was sick seeing them sweep the Lakers then was stunned seeing them beat the Heat. They shook up the NBA world. Much respect 🫡
Don't forget the thunder and that talented team..the west was stacked something serious and the Mavericks had a legendary postseason run beating all those formidable squads
once again proving Cuban is a bozo for not running it back
Lakers were coming off back to back Finals runs and they were burnt out. That was the same series that Bynum decked JJ in mid year like a bozo. You can tell they were burnt out because they had trouble with the Hornets in their previous series, who literally only had CP3. They were running on fumes that playoff run.
@@lilbruehh the Thunder were too young to win at the time. KD and Russ were 22, Ibaka and Harden were 21. You’re def overrating them a bit, they had no business beating a veteran team that was well balanced like the Mavs. Also Russ shot 36% from the field the entire series lmao, the origin of Westbrick.
Imo THE greatest run
Arguably the greatest playoff run ever.
And Toronto
Ever
@@VideoRandomChannelnah the warriors were hurt 1995 rockets had an amazing run as well
exactly and the 1995 rockets as well
@@michaelsevilla3697only the 1995 Rockets did better in my opinion, but it's close, the peculiarity of the 2011 Mavs was that no one during the season thought they could win the title, and let's remember that on that team there was Caron Butler who was out for the entire playoffs due to injury
Man, I totally forgot that this guy is #6 on the all-time scoring list. Humble king. 🔥
Dirk was so good and so humble. Even as a Spurs fan I was happy to see him finally get one.
Dirk was giving it to the Spurs when Duncan and Ginobili were at their peak, and Parker was just entering his prime...
true same here
That was like Flacco taking out Luck, Manning and Brady
Great analogy!
Terrible analogy, don’t ever compare Dirk with Flacco lmao. The ravens won cus of their defense, that was the identity of their team. After Ray and Ed Reed left, they never did anything.
Dirk on the other hand was the identity of the mavs. You’re crazy lmao.
Nah …. The Ravens DEFENSE took them out 😂
They finally got Dirk!!!!!!!
His best series was against the Thunder he was on fire. Lost steam in finals but still delivered buckets when they needed them.
I remember that. Iirc he dropped about 48 on them in one of them games
Game 1, WCF. Dirk put up 48 points and just... felt... unstoppable. It's rivaled only by his performance in Game 4, when he hit RIDICULOUS shots at the end of the 4th quarter.
@@rabd3721 I remember watching that performance and afterwards felt an air of invincibility of the team. Even down 2-1 to the heat I felt the mavericks would pull through
Still remember how Van Gundy declared then and there Serge Ibaka should name his firstborn Dirk.
@@nicholasdalby5178 GM1, on 12/15 FG & 24/24 FT. Disco Dirk was LOCKED in.
The Greatest Mav!! We miss you Dirk mane💪🏿💯💙🩶
Best stat is he averaged 10 points per 4th quarter the whole playoffs (incl. couple blowouts).
one of the greatest run ever, salute
Ya I remember him being a juggernaut but also the comebacks they had against OKC and Miami. They had 2 incredible 4th quarter comebacks that people forget about.
As a lakers fan I can’t tell you how sick I was watching us get swept. Hurt my soul eternally. Shout out king dirk though, that was an epic playoffs/finals run.
whoa that's crazy, they remembered that dirk swept kobe along the way. i swear every time that 2011 run gets brought up, them beating the heat is brought up but no one brings up them sweeping the 2x defending champs, at the peak of the 'KOBE IS CLUTCH' era, winning 3 of the games bc dirk was just better in the clutch
that portland team was the annual 'no one wants to play this team in the first round' too since brandon roy was back. that mavs run really was incredible
Shhhhh dont wake em up 😂
Just like no one will speak about lebron getting swept because he’s “ old “ and faked a retirement 😂
@beachavebaby difference is bron had a play in team w/ multiple mid season trades and a rookie coach everyone wanted gone. Kobe and his squad were defending champs w/ phil jackson. Context fam context.
LeBron lost with a superteam it isn't the same
@@todtt 2011 wasnt a superteam the other 3 were though.
one of the toughest playoff runs ever,
it's true that Dirk only won one title but that post season was triumphant
3 Dallas sports moments I’ll never forget:
1. The Mavs losing to the Heat in ‘06 in Dallas
2. Lebron announcing the Decision in 2010
3. The Mavs beating the Heat in 2011 in Miami
That 2006 was BS Dallas should've won, they were up 2-0 Tim Donaghy admitted NBA came in to extend a series and Ed Rush supervisor of officials hated Mark Cuban
1999 Stanley Cup, 2011 NBA champs, and Rangers this year World Series.
And of course the 90s 3 Superbowls
How is Lebron going to Miami a Dallas sports moment? had nothing to do with Dallas lmao.
The mavs losing to Tim Donahue😀
@@giiotm8272🤣 exactly
Dirk's one Championship is worth like three one of the most iconic runs to an NBA championship in history.
Dirk was motivated that year and hell bent he unlocked Super Sayain.
Dirks title run don’t get enough credit “ the way they dog 🐩 walked my Lakers 😢was unreal
That 2011 run was wild
J. Kidd and Tyson Chandler don't get enough credit for the championship.
Dirk got POSSESSED!!
One of my favorite playoff runs ever
That conference finals was CRAZYYYYY
Probably the most impressive playoff run (in terms of competition) I’ve ever seen. Only the late 80s Pistons (beating MJ, Bird and Magic) is comparable.
your forgetting the 1995 rockets
Man say living in Dallas 2011 was the best playoff/finals run i witnessed in my life. & this the most slept on championship never really gets talked about enough
Ppl always bring up this series
It’s talked bout one of the greatest run ever
Everybody was shooting one-legged fadeaways after that 2011 finals. Dirk was the greatest baller on planet Earth that year.
LeBron and Wade made fun of Dirk being sick. Was so glad he whooped they asses
Dirk was pissed poked the bear but he pretty much dismissed them and let his game do the talking.
3:03 dirk sweatin in that jawn 😂
Dang...I remember their run that year. Those are tough match ups to win. That's like Detroit going through Jordan, Bird & Magic in '89 to win it all. Impressive playoff run!
Greatest finals run I’ve ever seen, degree of difficulty was at 12 on a scale 1 to 10
Being from Dallas this was wild as a kids I didn’t believe dirk was enough for the heat to watch bro cook them made me love being from Dallas that year😂🫶🏾
Dirk killed that soft lable with that championship run... he was a match up nightmare that whole playoff run... he smoked everyone... Alridge.. Gasol/ odom... Ibaka... Bosh...
His impeccable mid range game did that, along with the squad that he had, JJ Barea and Jason Terry got the tattoo of the championship before the season. I don't even like the Mavericks, but that was a good team.
Jason Terry getting the Larry OB tattoo is crazyyyy. Almost like it was destined to be lol
it was awesome to see dirk finally win a chip in the epic fashion he did it's right up there with the 95 rockets as the hardest road to an NBA title. I'll always remember that 2011 mavericks team i was fresh out of middle school 😂
The Mav’s team that year was Amazing. Kobe and the Lakers were going for a 3 peat that year and got DISMANTLED by the Mavs. Dirk during that playoff run played some of the greatest basketball I’ve ever seen. NO one except maybe Mav’s fans saw that coming.
man DIRK respect 🫡
That wasn't a ring....that was the equivalent of collecting an Infinity Stone.
Bring Brandon Roy to the show!
Arguably the heaviest ring/ greatest c'ship run in NBA history, rivaled only by the 1989 Detroit Pistons, 1995 Houston Rockets and the 2019 Toronto Raptors
Dirk is the best foreign basketball player
Hakeem
@@emil2683dirk
did stephen jackson jus say g willickers? 😹
He was actually there talking with Dirk about this, damn
How about Winning Time: 2011 Mavs series?
I do like Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks, but sad for them to destroy/sweep Kobe and the Lakers
Cold
The title needs to say… took down kd, harden, Westbrook, kobe, Paul gasol, lebron, d Wade, Bosh..
Even if the L.A Lakers beat Dallas, they might have had the same fate as in 1989. Getting swept in pre-rounds is easier to handle than being swept in the Finals as Jackson stated in his book (The Soul Of Success). Phil was not as affected as losses vs Detroit or against Boston (131-92).
Let's not forget, L.A dealt with injuries in the final stage in 1989 (they won 11 consecutive playoff games but Byron Scott and Magic Johnson were injured).
In the 2011 NBA playoffs, Kobe played with a sprained ankle and the Lakers were heavily fatigued after 3 straight NBA Finals and after so many regular season games. Phil was not at his peak given that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He chose instead to support the team until the end whether they prevail or not. He had surgery right after he came back from Dallas.
Its crazy that he doesnt have an agent and a signature shoes. I would love to collect his signature shoe.
Don’t forget: the Lakers smacked the shit out of Dallas in LA a couple of weeks before the playoffs. The Mavs turned the corner I. The playoffs and it was insane.
GREATEST PLAYOFF RUN TO A CHAMPIONSHIP EVER
I was mad Miami (Lebron) pulled out a choke job in the finals but I was glad my boy Dirk got his first ring because he was not going to have another playoff run like that again
Every seven-footer in NBA history was with Dirk in 2011.
Dirk on my all time 12 man roaster frfr💯
DRose curry
Paul Pierce
Bron Kobe
DIRK MELO
Dwight Howard Allen Iverson
Tim Duncan Devin Booker
Shai Alexander Gil!!! 🏀🔥💯
The best playoff run EVER of
You disagree you just don’t know better
Almost as good as Isaiah Thomas & the Detroit Pistons run. Almost.
Murders row that run was, a streaky team and of course everybody expecting the Mavs to get bounced in the first round KOBE coming off 2 rings the future faces of the league in the Young OKC guys and of course the Big 3 with the best player on the planet IN HIS PRIME!!!
Not sure what happened to the 2011 Lakers ( behind the scenes), but that team completely implodes against a Dallas team that could've beaten the Lakers but damn a sweep???... aye I'm just glad Dirk got his
Well Kobe was on one leg trying to get to the Finals 4 straight years 🤦🏾♂️ that’s a lot of minutes🤷🏾♂️ they just weren’t fresh
@ColdJelly19
No Kobe wouldn't pass the damn ball and Bynum said fuck it.
@@andrem.thomas332 yep that’s what happened in a NBA playoff series; Kobe ran up and down the floor with the ball and what you say “Bynum said fuck it?” 100% real 👍🏾
Baby Buss also fired Phil Jackson’s right before the playoffs started made no sense team said it through them off
@@davis2k1234 czcams.com/video/fPwNHd7BdM0/video.htmlsi=7wo6-Jx-6BMH0ZLN
Fired before the playoffs? Don’t remember that happening , add that to the fact that the contract renewal on August 2nd , 2010 was for 1 year , 2010-2011.
That was a hat trick! 🫡
Blazers came back from 30 points down and beat the Mavs LMAOO but after that it was Crazy run

Naw fuck that lol Lakers were litterly burnt out after three straight Finals runs. I know people gone say Lebron did. Let me remind you the western conference was a different beast back then lol
Ppl try give Lebron a black mark for the rest of his career because he lost that Finals but completely gloss over the fact that Kobe and the Lakers got SWEPT by the Mavs and they were the defending champions.
LeBron got swept 3x in his career stop it
And loss with a superteam 😅
Because Kobe had no help Gasol was his 2nd best player avg 12PPG Lebron had 2 superstars w Dwade going off 28PPG he was the best player in the 2011 Finals not Dirk
@@davis2k1234 Nah don’t give me the “Kobe had no help” excuse cuz Lebron been in that position multiple times and STILL dragged those teams to the Finals.
@@adh2298 Dragged what team to a Finals? 2007 they were the 2nd seed and 4th best defensive team in the NBA they had to beat 1 decent team a old pistons minus B Wallace. If they were in the West that year they would have been the 6th seed and played 3 seed Spurs in 1st Rd been swept
Kobe’s knee was completely shot that series. He couldn’t even drive to the basket.

Steph was also coming off an injury to start the playoffs and had to battle okc in the conference final.
@davidfuller2011 who cares about the team that they beat to get to the finals!! Injuries are apart of the game stop using them as excuses because the same could be said for the 2015 cavs as well. It's legendary to beat a 72 win team that was favored to win it all regardless of injury giving Cleveland it's first basketball chip ever! You just sound bitter

TBH Dirk's ONE ring is overrated af. As are all of LeBron and Steph's asterisks rings.
Nah that’s one of the toughest championship runs in NBA history. A deep Portland roster, defending champ Lakers, young Okc big 3 in Durant Westbrook Harden, and the Miami Big 3 in Lebron, Wade & Bosh.
