What made Bosh so valuable was his ability to switch onto different offensive players, could guard the perimeter with no issues and his pick n roll defense was amazing.
As a Heat fan i really love that Bron acknowledges his choke in 2011 and how great Dirk was in those finals. The Heat should of won had he played better but Dirk played some of the best basketball of his life while being sick absolute legend!

The mental fortitude it took from what LeBron was in the 2011 finals to have the greatest individual basketball run from 2012-2020 is AMAZING

I still feel as if "I played like shit that series" is only one side of the coin to Bron's admission of letdown in the 2011 Finals. Love the series so far, and this was great as a Heat fan. One suggestion: Put a compressor on your mics and tweak your de-Esser. All the hi freq ruffling and the S sounds are really hot in the mix and bringing that down would make the show much kinder on the ears.

It’s always fun hearing these kinds of details about basketball and going into depth on certain things. You really learned something new each time.
I think Spo even more so modernized NBA defense by sliding a wing like Bron or Battier to the 4, sometimes playing 3 guards, switching everything, mixing zone in at times. A lot of teams defenses especially in the postseason now resemble those early Miami defenses in some aspect
The fact Spo implemented a football concept into basketball with that team is impressive af!!

So Chip Kelly-a football coach--influenced the Heat and helped introduce the “spread offense” to the NBA. Chip never spoke about this (which brings up his humility). Also, credit to Spo for stepping up to become a better coach after that finals.
I’m really curious how Spo got together with Chip in the first place…or what inspired him. Going to a football coach was definitely a risky move that paid off.

Spo learning the spread makes me wonder if some sports aren't more mature than others in the understanding of the game. Is the spread offense a more mature phase of every sport? Should players and coaches constantly be looking at concepts in other older sports and trying to apply those to their sport? That's fascinating to me that it came from Chip Kelly.

Inefficiency example: Why not have as many batters on your baseball team also be able to pitch? Massive durability savings on the normal pitchers which also cost a lot of money and take up roster slots. Even if you have a dude who is just good at contact batting if he could throw an inning or twos worth of sequences that would be massive in a regular season.
Basketball imo is following euro football. Positionless, high awareness, high IQ strategies which rely on huge athletic effort at specific times to make goals.
If a player has a unique skillset in soccer they can find a place and be able to contribute as the structure requires that people pass and shoot, just like basketball.
Also waiting on more passes caught at the rim or in the catch position just like in volleyball. It's hard but any team that can execute passes with that speed and precision with reliability stands to have an unbeatable advantage.

Audio is crunchy or spicy or treble turned up. I get it it, peaky is occasionally fine, but for these long talks double mic them with 5 total mics; two personal lavalier mics one dialed up to catch lows, the other dialed low to catch the peaks, so that's 4 and then use a Rode shotgun mic to just capture the space. Who's got the budget for these and who's running the show? I get it, things happen, but with Lebron and JJ I mean, I'd think ya'll could find the resources for it. Happy this is a preview so you can run the entire thing through Adobe PP and just have AI clean up whatever you captured. Cheers and thanks for hearing my hyper criticism on production. Great dynamics if a breakdown
Tbh compared to what I hear on other talk shows including “First Take”, “Undisputed”, etc. this will bring real basketball fans in on what you hear from the players themselves which will shatter views. Hearing 2 of my personal favorite players in LeBron and JJ just makes me want to know more about the game and pick apart schemes and locker room discussions in which they go through.
Could they have an episode discussing how a team handles deep playoffs runs, making adjustments in the playoffs? I would love to hear their perspective.

As a Bulls fan, I wanted nothing more than to beat the Heat in the early 2010s. We were a 60 win team with a dominant defense, and needing to contain LeBron and Wade with a tough close out on either Bosh or Haslem was the thing that broke our team.

If they had a reliable scoring option outside of d rose they beat them boys. Dudes played good all season long until they met in the playoffs then everybody numbers dropped
@@bigdawg5150 yeah they didn’t talk about it much in the video but the Heat blitzed the D Rose PnR action and with the athleticism on the help side it was really hard to score in that series.
Bosh’s length and activity in those blitz were nuts.
Also in crunch time LeBron would switch on D rose which was nuts and force even more adjustments the bulls didn’t have.
