Displacement map workflow from Zbrush to Arnold

  • In this video I am going to show you the full workflow from a dynamesh sculpt in zbrush, to rendering with displacement map in Arnold. We'll go over the remeshing and uv's to the displacement setup in Arnold. I am going to be using Maya, but you can apply this concepts in other 3d apps.

    Awesome video! Thanks a lot! I have questions about subdiv lvl. In multi map exporter, in displacement setting you put subd lvl 5, so highest one. But model you export is subd lvl 1 . Isn’t it should be the same subd lvl in the setting for generate map?

      Hey. You're probably right, honesty been doing like this for the whole project and had no issues. Try it and see if it makes any difference and let me know. Cheers

      Hi, haven't used unreal, yet. But I am sure you can find a tutorial in youtube :)

    I always find difficultly in exporting zbrush displacement map specially when exporting for human skin pores. I never have high res displacement map or the level of detail I see in Zbrush. Please I really need help. This thing is bugging me a lot

      Hey, do you set enough subdivisions in Maya/Arnold? To get fine detail you will need more geometry. Also a normal map and auto bump can help. Cheers
