Transit Van In The Desert

- We were contacted about a Transit van stuck in some sand near Hanksville with a broken tierod. So we picked up a new tierod from the parts store and headed out. Once we got there we decided on a plan while we waited for the customers to show up with the key. They got there and we got the tierod replaced. Then we began the recovery. There was a large stretch of deep sand in front of the vehicle and so we decided to pull it backwards and take it out the way they had come in. We got them back up to a good road and sent them on their way as we headed back to the trailer. Then later we put some new rear airbags on Trailmater. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Rory “This is where the Indians used to get service.” Cracked me up. My favourite team on CZcams.
"Not as hot as John's mom" lol I appreciate you guys
I've been binging on these vids for a week and Shawn gets too giggling and I can't stop smiling.
This is my 3rd Trailmater vid and I've decided you guys are funny.
Most of their videos have humor, even the sketchy recovering vids 👽
I'm glad you held your tongue, and didn't bad mouth the other company, but I am sure, off camera their ears were burning. Thanks for being that guy.
*This is a Bronco Tie Rod* -- Brutal..!!! One of the funniest lines on this channel to date.. There's going to be some emotionally damaged Ford guys running around this comment section.. LOL -- All in good fun but agree with other comments here, the scenery is amazing out there.
That recovery needed a front dig and lights 😁
Just kidding.....
And more cowbell 👽
Hello from Las Vegas Nevada
God bless you and your family
Thank you
Love the das boot reference! Beerfest to bad they never did the sequil. At least I think that was what they were talking about.
Gotta love Sean: a very nice guy, good sense of humor, hard worker, and a great driver.
He's probably my favorite out of most channels
I love how sean adds the cultural aspect to the channel with his Indian word of the day. And then he cracks himself up. This stuff's gold and the scenery shots oh my goodness. Aloha and amen from Oahu
How ?????? Bahaha ( sand signals , love it Shawn..)
That what happens when someone that thinks that they know how tow, they break things and leave them there, Great job fixen and towen guys!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best damn crew there is. Don't change.
Another episode of trail side repairs with Rory and his merry band of misfits. 😂
It's always a good day when you get to drive to Hanksville.
The guy in the van should have given the first recovery company a shout out. They break his tie rod, blame the customer, then just leave them out in the boonies!!
from the Land of Ice and Snow to the Land of Sand
The title had "Van" in it and I was sure I was going to hear the "we're expecting a man bun and an IPA" comment - still cracks me up! Great recovery - thanks for sharing.
We like that Sean can find humor about his heritage. The world would be a better place if we could all lighten up some.
Sean and his humor are making it happen. He is hilarious when he makes his native American heritage jokes. Dont ever lose or take advantage of that. The last second is awesome. I wonder how many miss the end and don't watch all the way! Too funny. Keep up the good work men!
Lol! I wonder who John is?🤔😊
Thats how all natives are like once we get too know u
@@wynottgivemore9274 to heck with John, I want to meet his mom!!!
@@richardraleigh6490 lol!
I always watch till the end because yt will just start the next one🤣
Shawn’s jokes today are highlight material. Good laughs.
I just love your Scenery Filled Videos
I said it before. TRLM8ER should be a HotWheels . Another beautiful rescue.
New Bronco slams for the win! Shawn busting on the Ford toothpick tie rods was awesome!
Rescuing another lost soul in the desert.
As a little boy 👦 growing up in the 60s/70s we went thru loa Bucknell an Hanksville on our way to green river to get to Boulder Colorado every year 😀
Great video 📹 👍🏿 👏 👌 thanks 😊 Rory Mike an Sean
Jailbreak was how I found your channel. Been watching every since.
I seriously love you guys. Rory, Shawn and Mike are the , "Three Amigos".
One more thing, spray those new air bags with 303 Products. They will last forever, also spray your tires with 303
I know you can't say, but I'd like to know what tow company tore up that guys van pulling himself out. That is just BAD business. BUT, we all know Rory, Mike & Sean know what they are doing. Great video as always so keep them coming as time allows.
I hope the guy with the Transit gets to bill the other tow truck driver for the damage to his vehicle. Shows how professional Rory and the Gang are. And Sean will always know HOW to fix things...
What idea of driving a van in this environment? there is only sand and pebbles but you are damn lucky to live in these magnificent landscapes. 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for taking us all along for another geat video
Trail Mater should be a "Hot Wheels" toy for sure!
You guys have way with words. “ We are going to the land of sand”. “ Hey Sean send up an Indian smoke signal “ . Sean throws sand. You guys had me laughing so much. Yep the infamous bronco tie rods don’t do well with tow hooks attached.
Any tie rod with break if you hook to it lol
I too, chuckled at the "land of sand" comment. PLUS, why would you take a 2 wheel drive looooong van into an area like that.
I agree, You nailed it on that comment! I was also chuckling at that! LOL #BuiltByBo
Great job, guys! It's a shame the other "recovery crew" busted the guy's truck and left him there, but I can see that happening. The potential for damage is always present, and you hafta think things thru.
The other crew's ad line is "You thought you were stuck, and then we showed up" 👽
Hopefully they didn’t charge him
thats what you get for hiring on the cheap
@@marklar7551 They should do the honourable thing and pay for a new track rod and alignment.
Show up and recover the vehicle…no fuss, no drama just calm reassuring guys doing a great job.
Sean knows how. He wants some. Lol God bless
Thanks for filling the post-Christmas/pre-New Years video void with today's rescue. Here's to a great new year ahead for Rory, Shawn, Mike and Trailmater 🎅
Well said
Sean / Shawn gets louder and more funny every day.
This is an amazing state, it's great to look at but I love my trees.
Good dig towards the bronco!!
The Mike & Shawn show is hilarious. Those two riff off each other so easily. 🤣
When all else fails, call Trail Mater. Better yet, call Trail Mater first. Well done, again!
I mean, if you need a spanner wrench, you don't grab a screwdriver
Rory maybe if you need a Filler episode or Short, you can do things like recommended tire pressure for Mud, Snow and Sand as well as for climbing, How to Set, Send and Share a WayPoint and a What to pack in an emergency kit and a What Not to Do Tip of the Week
Filler? Shit, he uploads a video every day. Probably he has to sleep sometime. Maybe. Doesn't seem like it. Suggesting more work to guys that are apparently working all the time already, that sends the wrong kind of smoke signal. In my unsolicited opinion, anyway.
@@philbert006 Having a tutorial on creating and sharing a pin on Google Maps would come in handy every time you ask someone to send their coordinates. Just text them a link to the tutorial and save everyone involved a lot of trouble.
“Who ya gonna call, TRAIL MATER!!!!!” TCB 24/7
These people that take sprinter vans and even car into the sands are a whole different bread.
I really enjoy the banter. Again disappointed in not seeing the unnecessary front dig 😂. Keep up the good work guys. I enjoy the style of your videos.
All front digs are necessary, where have you been 👽
@@marklar7551 It is a joke going back to a video a few weeks ago where Rory responded to a viewer who complained about his front dig turns. I’m showing my support of how Rory gets the job done using the very capable vehicles and driving skills he possesses.
Thanks for the ride!😊
Ladies and gentlemen, that is how the professionals do a recovery....
I almost spit coffee out my nose after the BRONCO comment 😅 Those always seem to break at locations nobody wants to go for a tow! Hilarious 😂
"No good deed goes unpunished"
Amazed where the Transit got to. Should have called the A team to begin with, saved time and money
best way to start the day....Trai Mater and the Three Rocketeers. Please add a coffee mug to your store. One side with your three "mugs"...faces, (kinda like the 3 stooges) the other side with Trail Mater.
First time I’ve ever seen a “Sand Alignment”
I guess if you don't know what you're doing, you can always just hook your tow-rope to the drive line.
*_Thanks for the fun after-Christmas upload._*
When in doubt, call the 3 professionals.👊👊👊
Thanks from England and Merry Christmas.
Came here originally from JailBreak! Nicely done fellas.
Always good the 'How!'
I like how the van guys can throw jokes about the tie rod, although they didn't originally break it and seem generally pretty chill about the whole issue. And what I like most what you guys are doing is that you actually repair the stuff on the spot, if it can be done by new parts or simply crafting something and putting it together with couple welds, instead of making a lot harder recovery with vehicle that otherwise would be hardly functioning.
A pox on the first tow company for breaking the customers rig and still leaving him stranded. You guys know your stuff and do the best!
Shawn, have you ever heard of POWHATON road out east of Denver? Don't think he made it out here, but he has a road named after him. He was POCAHONTAS' father.
Love your humor! The smoke signal, phone service!
And the show goes on never missing a note
I used to drive one of those stupid transit 350 vans, there is zero recovery points and the tow hitch is about 4 3/8 of an inch off the ground when the tires are fully inflated, I didn't like it at all, good job getting it out without tearing it up 👍
That much weight on them pizza cutters is always good in sand 😂😂😂 jk
Who takes a stock van off road? If you need a high hitch and recovery points, you didn't need a van, or you need to reassess your driving skill 😇👽
Another Rescue of what probably be out there ? But it is what it is ! Thanks or sharing !
Man that sucks what that dude did to his van! So many wannabes out there that have to whistle while they use the bathroom so they'll know which end to wipe! Glad you got the poor guy fixed, recovered and on his way. Stupidity is expensive! Always love the fun you guys have while working hard. Stay safe and GOD bless
I use the same bags for my plow truck. They are nice
The Moab Macgyver at work.
Not even a single dig lol GG.
There used to be a cool rock shop in Hanksville back in the 90's. It was called Shirley's Rock Shop. The old guy's last name was Shirley, first name Ernie. He was super friendly and had many interesting of stories to tell. Had several large dinosaur bones and favorite rock specimens in his back lot. I'm not sure he would still be there today since he was about 80 years old when I visited with him.
Just goes to show, not all tow companies are created equal. That wasn't really a difficult recovery, don't know why the other guys had trouble.
As always great job Rory, Sean and Mike.
that's why you guys are the best you don't go in a break someone's vehicle and then just leave it.
Watching just South of Tooele in a twelve passenger Transit van. 👍
It's awesome that you're promoting Richie's channel I knew there is a reason I like you guys before I knew you guys were friends, now you just got to win over my wife 😂 thanks for the great content!
Hi guys, another very enjoyable video you are a great team. I have just watched the jailbreak video and saw the problem with dust inside the light switch. I have worked in the UK woodworking industry for over forty years and dust in switches is a very common problem. Some years ago an engineer showed me a trick to overcome the problem and its cheap, easy and has always worked for me. You put a condom over the switch and wires, zip tie the open end to the wires then put the switch back in the panel. Of course this will stop the switches having baby switches but hey. 😆
I’ve heard an old tale from a old Navajo lady, that if you throw sand in the air, you will get a windstorm
Nice they break the tie rod and drive off and leave them stranded! Job well done by Rory, Mike and Sean!
thanks for filming
Thank you guys for showing us the way it is done. Very entertaining, I always look forward to your videos.
Thanks for sharing 👍😀
I have said it before, Moab and surrounding area is lucky to have Rory & Team at their disposal. All the trail fixes you are amazing and as scene is this video, "trail repair' and the customer drives it out! !! !!!
AFTER the other recovery company break the van
Nice Trailmater intro video especailly the part when the shop door comes up and then doing donuts in the parking lot! I'd watch that Jailbreak guy I saw how he was looking at Trailmater!😍
I had a set of Firestone Ride-Rites' that went on 5 different Silverados I've had and are still going after 25 years.
Utah is so beautiful, even in the middle of nowhere you are somewhere amazing.
An old Alaska Towing and Wrecking driver having fun watching all the problems and solutions that you run into in the Moab area! Always thinking there has to be an eaiser way to load a UTV on the trailer! Then I was watching you with a cable coming off the boom thinking that's not bad, changing the cable from one side to another! Then I thought 2 cables off the boom, one on each side! Hmmmm.
If you don't watch these video's until they stop, you're missing out!🤓
"Bronco haters". I think you guys owe Hillbilly an apology. Better yet, you all need to take a ride in the BroncStar when it's done.😂😂
I think they was talking about the new bronco I don't like the new one but the old ones are awesome
The new Bronco is not well built like it should be. I could point to every American automobile company having a cruddy vehicle rerelease but FORD never took a bailout 👽
Making fun of Broncos is a good time!
@@marklar7551 The best selling Burger in America is not the best Burger in America and that we all know.
@@moms4.0tj that would make a really good video !!! 😂👍🏽
Experience is an excellent teacher when running sand, or especially sand dunes. Tires that work, & lots of horsepower & torque also help lol
Always put the native in the back of the bus. What up smoke signal brother. I had a Bronco for 46 years never broke a tie rod or nothing on it. Broke a few rear axles though. Northern California Missouri. I think what's it for 5 or 6 years throw a battery in it start right up. And it was a Redskin just like me.👌🏽👍🏽✋🏽💪🏽💪🏽. You jumps just don't know how to drive a Bronco. I lived in Northern California and the Redwoods Rivers. Hill climbing rock. Never had a problem with it. And it's at stock except for I had bigger tires on it. 15x32 Armstrong true tracks. It looks stubby and badass and it was. Hi pull cars other four wheel drives Jeeps out of the river in the sand. No problem 289 3 speed on the tree.. red and white. And it's still around but I don't own it anymore. The only rust that had was a couple of spots on the floorboard. And that was because it had the original floor mat you need to get moisture underneath. It came with original seat but they didn't last very long. Going up the hill leaning back putting all that pressure kind of screwed them up. I put some hot bucket seats off of pinto on her. And they were still on there till I got to Missouri and I had it here for 4 or 5 years 6 years finally got rid of it when I wasn't working anymore. And yes I've driven Jeeps.. at least mine was built up. My cousin had a 72 Bronco. I'd have to go pull him out of the river every time for the sand. With my old 68. Y'all have a better year. You know they got flare guns now you're not to make a smoke signal. Sean.😁🤣🤣👌🏽💪🏽👍🏽🤷🏽♂️🙋🏽♂️😊😎.
Bet I he wished he had called you first! 😊 Why go out the easy way when there is a hill to play on... 🙂 Thanks for sharing
Better late than never. Another fine video installation boys. You never disappoint!
My daughter and I did a car camping trip though Utah a few years ago. We're from Ohio. She was amazed by the desert. We stayed in Hanksville and stayed at the Whispering Sands and ate at Stan's Burger Shak.
Trailmater saves another van from natural selection. Good job. Thanks Love Dirt
I love my Brother Shawn
What's funny is your not a tow company. Shawn and Mike are a great addition.
Not your style because you take care of equipment. Nice job guys. Happy Trails 👣
They’ll drive those vans anywhere !
Rory is a poet that didn't know it !
Aho brothers an sisters ! Happy holidays too you from me !
I dig that Rat Patrol scene you shared going over the dune. I like that quite a bit!
Another good one thanks for sharing 😊😊😊😊😊😊
There's nothing that Rory and his crew can't do.
I have not seen them get EVERYONE to drive the proper vehicles in the proper areas in a proper fashion yet....might be easier to negotiate world peace though 👽😂
