Really great video covering all the aspects of Conor Gallagher. One thing I would say is him alongside a good discipline defensive midfielder would be a good pairing at Chelsea. He can provide that extra something off the cuff football rather than their routine slow transition attack we are seeing right now for Chelsea.
I think their build up play would take too much of a hit and am not sure he’s a refined enough operator at this moment in time to step into a team which has world class midfielders and is challenging for Title and UCL. Also off the cuff surprise element would not be sustainable in the long term. He would be a solid squad option though compared to RLC.
@@PythagorasinBoots This season will only be experience for him. He'll see how Kanté & Jorginho operates and learn from them. I can say he will play a lot, but will not start matches against top teams, very important matches!
He is perfect for our future, that's why he needs Declan Rice alongside him at Chelsea, to let him completely unlock his potential!!!
Chelsea don't need a Box to Box Midfielder. Tuchel never want his midfielders to be all over the place. I won't recommend him to stay in Chelsea. He need a team that uses 4 - 3-3 With 2 box to box.

This is very eye opening to me. Gallagher has now been brought into the fold at Chelsea. It is clear to see that Gallagher cannot play in a deeper role - which is where he was utilised under Tuchel. But, even in more advanced positions, it seems to me that he falls way short of what we need at Chelsea. He could be a squad player for Carabao Cup/early round FA Cup games, but I think for his own development he should move to a club that will give him enough minutes

I have an idea of his perfect spot. He is a replica of Mason. Presses well, has speed and tenacity, and a good eye for a goal. We should play him on the right side of a 2 behind Kai/Broja. Keep Kante and Kova as double pivot behind the front 3
I think he's a drop off the standard of someone like Mount who is much better in tight spaces and IMO a superior long term goal threat.
Spot on, Mount half turn and one touch dribbles are elite and obviously better at creating and finishing chances. Gallagher would be a very good team Engine in a midfield 3. High stamina, good work rate, and always press like a less aggressive Vidal that capable to make runs but don’t have the job to dictate or be the main creator

What are your taughts on him playing under Pochentino? Could he play under his 4-2-3-1 system? Now that Mount has left might get some first team chances. Some are saying he could play the Dele Ali role for Poch
very good video. good analysis. he got many spotlight but he has some of weaknesses at vision pass buildup and he should improve more to be a worldclass cm

One thing I've noticed with him in the few clips I've watched is that he doesn't scan the pitch a lot before he receives the ball. Now is this something consistent with him or an anomaly?
I’d say this is a frequent issue compared to your typically world class level midfielder.
I’ve seen the same thing. It’s part of why I’m on the fence about him.
He is a Box to Box. Not a creative midfielder. His job is to carry the ball. That means that you must be available all the time to run forward with the ball. Break lines with runnings.

He's the type of midfielder England need to bring in to the national set up. Depends on how long Conte stays there and if he is backed... Winks may end up a rotation option but I still think Conte will value him more than a clueless manager.

Nice analysis but I still think he deserves a chance to prove himself. Lukaku with all his strength and shooting accuracy failed to be reliable, Timo with all his space and ball control faced the same fate. Let's not deny the youngstar a chance because of his weakness, I believe every dog has it's day.

Yeah all Gallagher's flaws pointed out here have been exasperrated after a season at Chelsea, he clearly will never be good enough to be an 8 at Chelsea as his game is too fundamentally flawed to be there, he could be a 10, and ive been saying all season he could be an amazing RM or even RWB in a Tuchel system, but currently it just doesnt seem meant to be

Great video. Pretty spot on depicting Gallaghers profile style of play and fit at palace. The only thing I’d disagree is the projection of his future at chelsea. Tuchel is a big fan of Gallagher and wanted to keep him but he opted to have another season on loan. Tuchel wants a midfield overhaul expect 1 of rice or tchouameni and Gallagher to come in as part of a revamped midfield for next season. TT wants Gallagher in his team next season.
In terms od his England prospects I’m not so confident in that aspect I believe there are bigger midfield talents already so even though I think he can be an international level player he won’t ever be a key player in future squads with the likes of Foden Bellingham skipp mount etc.
Rice and Gallagher would be a downgrade for me in terms of how sophisticated that Chelsea midfield is and they would struggle to control games as much IMO.

We are comparing him to box to box midfielders and his age has already been taken into account when determining his potential. I reckon he will come back to Chelsea and have a shot but ultimately won’t have enough to dominate there. Might be wrong but that’s my assessment - you’re free to have your own opinion.

You literally just said it, Mount, and they are fairly similar. Also Jorginho and Kante are crucial to the way Chelsea play, so it isn’t rocket science to say it’s not going to be easy for him there. He should go somewhere he’s needed now, like Utd 💯

Mason Mount is an creative attacking midfielder while Gallagher is a box-to-box midfielder.
They do different jobs!
What if he is used as the Kante role at Chelsea?
He could do - but his defensive IQ on the whole isn't going to be the same level, so overall it would be a downgrade. Having said that, with Kante always being injured - just having a player there who is regularly available may be a good thing.
