I would start Trent as a double pivot with Mac Allister like he used to play for Brighton and balance each other out. Salah and Elliott being inverted right wingers can match really well, considering that the left winger has to be the one who goes high with the striker creating that 2-2-4-2, perfect role for Cody Gakpo or Anthony Gordon as he is recently mentionned in Liverpool. Nunez to be coached into a much composed striker with Danns but Jota gets the first nod. Geertruida & Gomez as utility defenders even at replacing Trent/Bradley if and when required (injuries). Sell Salah, Kelleher, Tsimikas, Matip & several other youngsters. Should be enough funds for Nico Williams & Geertruida.

I think Diaz will leave this season his ambition to play in laliga. Edwards need to replace him with olise and Summerville both under 80mil would be great choice proper slot type wingers. Salah, gakpo, Nunez starts for now. Olise,summervile,dans to take over. New lb should be next thing we need. Robbo has played too much mins under klopp. Kerkez would be my first choice or Alphonso Davies he would be perfect. Centre half another area need to improve someone like todibo can cover lot of space quick like konate,strong. As for 6 wieffer would be great but Archie gray is choice keep endo for now. As a coach, taking emotional decisions affects a lot, given the influence the coach has not only with the team but the colleagues as well. Xavi as a player was quite a mature, well seasoned, very experienced player and moulding players to the likes of him takes time and patience. Xavi is only now maturing as a coach, but let us not take away from the fact that he had a huge load to bear as head coach when he took up the job. A team is only as good as its players and Xavi still has a very young group under his disposal. Taking a team from an impressionable heart whole squad to a reliable, well seasoned and experienced group of players takes the prescence of an experienced and compassionate coach who Xavi is turning out to be. 1 year later and his shot stopping isn't outstanding but it's consistent. He makes about 1 or 2 big save a month. His passing from the back is a lot better than it was at Brentford and his ability to beat the press is fantastic, at first he was shaky but every week in the new environment he improved. His penalty technique is much better as well.

What 2 years can change. Since working under Arteta he feels totally comfortable playing build up from the back. Maybe it's having Saliba and Gabriel behind him but he never looks pressured now. You were right about his set piece threat BUT in his delivery not his finishing, something like 5 or 6 assists from corners since January.

Your SWOT analysis of Trent is spot on. I think he's a RM in a 4-4-2 or inside RM in a 3-5-2, however these systems are out of favor. Ironically Luis Diaz is also a 4-4-2 LM and the duo remind me of Beckham and Giggs from the late 90s. But it's all about the system, Beckham wouldn't even start in Klopp's gegenpressing 4-3-3 where midfielders sacrifice everything for the front 3. More than that, Liverpool have so many midfielders that Trent's inability to consistently carry the ball, dribble, and defend is a problem. He can only be the 5th build up player in a 3-2-5 set up against low blocks. Unless a coach switches to a 4-4-2 or a 3-5-2, I sadly can't see him improving.

Also very realistic on the threats on the counters as that’s been an issue at Feyenoord sometimes. However, I wanted to point out you used the wrong logo for Feyenoord when showing the stats. This one says “Sportclub Feyenoord” which is the logo of Feyenoords amateur side. The correct one says “Feyenoord Rotterdam” (I know there is always something to moan about sorry hahah). I’m not really a fan of messing around at the back tbh. Playing out to defenders is ok but your getting yourself into trouble sitting deep and passing it left to right like that.

Obviously, Cody Gakpo will likely be favoured looking to the future, but Diogo might be the best go-to next season, with Cody and Luis Diaz sharing LW.
