      No way you know anything about football, move Casemiro who can’t hold the ball further up the field with Bruno who also can’t hold the ball.
      These 2 players play hot potato football style, they don’t hold the ball, Pep Guardiola said the same thing.
      Amrabat is a box to box like Fred.
      Casemiro nor Bruno are football playing Midfielders, you press them they make mistakes or give the ball away, Lisandro is a ball playing defender

    • @MILLERA12345

      It is a suggestion not an absolute. If amrabat doesn't have the quality to find the final pass as stated in the video in terms of creativity then it is useless if he's carrying the ball and casemiro can be shifted up. Of course Ten Hag should start them in their natural roles first and see how it goes.@@Eye-it-azz

      @@Eye-it-azz.
      Amrabat is not a b2b like Fred. He is a dlp and his best work is in the first phase. You said Casemiro isn’t good on the ball so u can push him foward ( I agree on that but the lack of ball retention is more reason why u would want Casemiro foward. The priority aim of a b2b is to make 3rd man runs into the box and to try and score(we have seen Casemiro do this in his career) let me give you a quick secret, Casemiro was a b2b at sou palo. You make reference to “hot potatoe” football, which I call lack of ball retention and I agree with you but that more evidence why u would want him in the 3rd phase of play making 3rd man runs and not the 1st phase, you should always want your midfielders with the highest ball retention skill set in the first phase

      Stateman dave recently put out a video as well suggesting this. My suggestion was not based on his video. But apparently I and Statman dave know nothing about football. Also, most of casemiro's goals have been headers which means having him further forward can be a good idea to having an aerial threat in the final play.@@Eye-it-azz

    This is the problem with a lot of "scouting" channels. They don't seem to grasp that a football team has 11 positions and every position has a unique skillset. Worst still, they don't realize that midfield does not have a generic skillset as a DM, CM and AM differ from each other greatly. Amrabat is a defensive midfielder and his capability truly affirms himself as a defensive midfielder. Creativity is only necessary for midfielders playing in the offensive half of the pitch, which is AM and beyond. Based on my assessment, he is certainly a world class defensive midfielder as he is able to read the game, intercept and keep possession. That is enough for him to play as part of a double pivot.
    Creativity depends on the attacking midfielder and the 2 winger/forward roles in Manchester United's current formation. The issue here is not midfield, but the lack of decisive passing from the wingers which results in Bruno taking up more creativity. This might change if Sancho plays as the central forward or false nine, where he can act as the shadow AM resulting in the wingers cutting in and take away Bruno's creativity burden. I suppose ETH is looking towards this type of strategy with his current 4-2-3-1 turning into a 4-3-1-2 once Hojlund is ready to play (Bruno as a CM while Sancho is the AM)

    • @PythagorasinBoots
      @PythagorasinBoots  Před 9 měsíci

      We offer a holistic analysis so that if anyone watches it and says why can’t we use so and so in a different position we can point out and say we’ll his strengths are better suited to this area of the pitch and not another. A cdm who lacks creativity can still be elite as it’s not a component of that role.

    I have a feeling that this signing is the most important signing Man Utd have made in years !Now that he has a platform like Manchester United, the whole world will realize what all the fuss was about!I if Casemiro had been in Fiorentina,no one would know him or appreciate him but when you are in a team surrounded by elite players, it improves your game and gets you the recognition you deserve!There is a difference in pinging a 50 yard pass to a winger at Fiorentina and pinging it to Rashford, Bruno or Antony who can control it and transition at speed!
    "I want to make Manchester United the best Transition team" said ETH!Gaffer, you just got your wish!
    Looking forward to see the evolution of a great player because he has a coach that actually coaches players and Amrabat will get more tools to his arsenal!Before Casemiro came to United, I never thought he could play those passes, be so adventurous and score so many goals !At Madrid he was Amrabat!Screen , tackle and pass to Modric or Kroos and that was why he went under the radar!At United he became unleashed!
    As a sidenote, looking forward to Amrabat and Altay helping to corner the Arab and Muslim market for sponsors!Those handsome guys will market merchandise well like models!
    Finally, Amrabat and Altay, you guys have no idea how big Manchester United is as a club!You think you do, but you don't !No club has as many sponsors but you will get an idea on your next preseason your! Imagine a preseason friendly having more fans in attendance than Old Trafford.

    So glad United finally have a ball carrier this is what we have missed this season so far and last . It was a shame that we didn’t see pogba under ETH but was kinda a blessing as he’s been injured. Fans will understand why ETH went so hard for De jong a year ago having a player that can carrier the ball and pass exceptionally well gives the team so much more dynamism going forward. Amrabat not on the same level, but has the ability.

    I think the way Mount played for Vitesse, as CM, when he was on his loan year in the Eredivisie, could give us a few clues how Amrabat is going to be used by EtH.
    It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see EtH use both of them together, one being the high-energy CM, linking the play, one being the deeper DM, playing the long balls and providing defensive cover.
    The way Pep changed his system to use high-energy full-backs to stop being caught on the break, after his first season in EPL, this is probably EtH admitting he can't use his double pivot from Ajax in the premier league, and adapting it to suit.

      @@Fjaelyep Casemiro/Eriksen.... Not saying they "drop out" exactly, it's more that Eriksen obviously has a heart condition so undoubtedly will have much reduced minutes and Casemiro obviously turns 32 this season, and he no longer seems able to keep putting in the high-energy performances he did last year for a full 90, so it seems like a fairly natural progression for both of those players to gradually have reduced minutes this season in favour of steadily developing the Mount/Amrabat system, and maybe trying to ensure that we can have Eriksen and Casemiro fresh and available for big matches, too, which obviously would be a big boost as opposed to using them almost every minute, last season, and seeing them half-dead when we saw the business end of the campaign.

    They don’t need to move Casemiro forward . ETH likes a 325 where he can have a fullback come inside to form the pivot. In this case Case and Amrabat can be that pivot and allow one of the fullbacks to go forward as a winger in possession (preferably Dalot or Reguilon) while the other fullback forms a back 3 to build up

    Very objective analysis, but looking at amrabats strength and weakness, he is definitely the exact kind of player we need, we'll always have creativity as long as Bruno Casemiro is in the starting 11, what we've lacked since last season was a ball progress or in the first place and a midfielder with real steel to help us difficult to play against. In ten hags new 433 formation I can see Amrabat being the CDM and ETH using Casemiro as a box to box just like Tuchel used Kante. It's going to improve us drastically, genuinely excited and for that price, it's such a promising signing

    I don't think Amrabat and Casemiro will be playing a double pivot together.. especially with the acquisition of reguillon I see that Ten Hag would rather one of the CB (Lindelof) push up into defensive playmaking role while Amrabat acts as a cover to not be caught out at cb. More like a switching role for the opposition to not know who exactly will be playing out from the back between the two with Amrabat mostly being the deepest playing out from the back. If Amrabat and Casemiro ever do play together, Casemiro will be the one pushing higher of the two.

      I definately agree with your statement. If or when Utd's back line do find that consistency together. I can see ETH maybe pushing Armabrat further up the field, if necessary. A pairing with Armabrat and Casemiro could help build that confidence for us in the Midfield later down the line at some point. But our defence needs to be top priority. Im tired of us getting lucky wins. We need consistency.

    Feels like a good depth option for Casemiro as he ages, but the balance may be a bit off if United tries to play them together. Would've made a lot more sense for Liverpool to go for him and plug their massive hole at the 6.

  • @obihieleuchendu8243
    @obihieleuchendu8243 Před 9 měsíci +1

    I'm sure the real reason United signed him wasn't really for his passing range (good or average however u rate it). I think it is because of his ability to break up opponents' play, win the ball back and recycle possession. That's what United have been lacking, that physical presence in the midfield, a midfield warrior who is not afraid to tackle. And he has tremendous pace, able to not only win the ball but progress to the final third with it cutting easily into opponents' midfield.

    Considering that you take into account multiple attributes of a player as part of his profile, I think it would be wise to score the profile based on how he would fit into the setup he/she arrives at:
    (Imo I think the 68 score is unfair as the tactical setup at united for a profile similar to that of Amrabat is ideal, wherein he has runners and on the ball creators allowing him to flourish in what he is best at - thus masking his weaknesses of contributions in the final 1/3rd).

      All our ratings take into account the position and not the attributes. They’re just there to see what a player can or can’t do. For example I’m not going to give Busquets less than goat rating because he scores less goals than Ivan Toney.
      What has Amrabat done in his career to date to earn a world class rating or ceiling?

    Depends on tactics. Man united want to attack the space in behind a double shield in front of the back line two mids who are capable passers theoretically should lead to united getting opportunities on counter attacks so bruno in transition is different than Bruno having to create against a low Block. Depends on the opposition too if they face a low block the amrabat casemiro double pivot might not be ideal because they will need more creativity to help bruno so ten haag can choose what fits best depending on tactics and opposition. Like any coach he will welcome having different options

I know Reguillon was signed to provide cover at LB but he offers much more going forward as opposed to Wan Bissaka or Dalot.
