I doubt it's bias - but could be a style of play thing? Like Liverpool are super aggressive with winning the ball back - probably breaks loose for Endo more often here. Likewise with Tottenham, at least compared to a team like Stuttgart which probably has to be ok without the ball more often against big teams.

I think Zubimendi to make a bigger step into his progression needs a kind of a mindset like Guardiola, Luis Enrique or Xavi. Yes, Pep has Rodri and Enrique has Ugarte but we never thought of what Rodri is right now, world class CDM and that is thanks to Pep. So for me, whats left for Zubimendi to be world class is Xavi's mind. He's already put De Jong on a highest level, Dembele last year and Pedri as well making him scoring more goals near the box, but needs to keep healthy.

      • Missing out on the UCL ¼ finals after the UCL R16 v.s. PSG
      • Missing out on 24/25 UCL qualification
      • Missing out on a Euro 24 Spain call up (Gavi's injury helps but he can still get overlooked & even if he doesn't, he can still get benched in favour of Rodri)
All of that missing out can make Zubimendi disillusioned with La Real & realize that to progress further in the UCL, play every season in the UCL, not get overlooked for Spain caps at international tournaments & have Rodri benched in favour of him, he needs to move Barcelona.
As for Marc Casado I'd love for him to get & take his chance in the 1st team & having 2 DMs in Zubimendi & Casado, 2 CMs in Pedri & Gavi, 2 AMs in Fermin & Torre & an all rounder in De Jong to call upon would be great depth in quality towards restablishing Barça's midfield as the best in the world.

@@Tombecker123 Genetics is a lottery that once expressed can give someone a natural physical advantage over others, however physicality can be easily obtained & honed, as can technique.
Technique can be honed but it's often confused for someone who's technically gifted. Talent has to be present in the first place. You can train someone to be more physical i.e. Adama Traore.
However, you can't train someone to have the genetic predisposition Adama has for fast twitch muscle fibers & building muscle that enable him to be the explosive athlete he is. Same way you can't train height.
The same can be said for technically gifted players. You can train someone to process information & solve problems but not the same way Messi would. Ronaldo & Messi are great players but their brain's don't perceive problems & solutions the same.
Which is why I'd rather Zubimendi over someone more physical. Zubimendi already sees the game in a way that Barça can hone.
As I mentioned previously physicality can be taught & obtained & that's where intensity comes in, which Zubimendi & Gavi already have in abundance.

I think Zubimendi fits quite well in a double pivot combination of Gavi or De Jong with Pedri or Gundogan as the roaming playmaker. He wouldn’t have the burden of creating in the final 3rd and can just focus on progressing the ball and patching fires in the defence. Plus Gavi and De Jong cover ground fast so he wouldn’t be isolated in defence transitions nor would he have immense responsibility in possession.

@@PythagorasinBootsAlso I think Busi or Rodri under Pep isn't a fair comparison. As not only has Pep played a vital part in their development but the way his Barça played, his City play & the players at their disposal skews the stats in their favour & facilitates more time on the ball in comparsion to Zubimendi at La Real.
Which is what I understand you tried to mitigate by showing other players but the same argument applies, better coach, better team. I think his numbers will improve upon signing for Barça 🤞🏾🧘🏾‍♂️🤞🏾, Arsenal, Bayern, City or L'pool which, my bias as a Barça fan aside, are systems he'd excel in.
However, playing alongside Pedri & Gavi at Barça will see Zubimendi boast a chemistry at club level that will not only give him the edge but his best chance of swaying the decision of who to start at CDM for Spain in his favour over Rodri.
But before signing Zubimendi in the summer, I'd love Barça to sign Thiago in January. As what Pedri, Frenkie, Gavi, Fermin & Casado will learn from Thiago will be priceless or worth what it would cost to sign Thiago from L'pool.
With 6 mths left on his contract & L'pool's non-renewal policy for players 30+. Ideally a loan paying 100% of his wages with an obligation to sign & L'pool compensated in performance based add-ons
i.e. €5m for every trophy Barça win at the end of & connected to this season, would suit both parties. Barça & their fans would happily see the club have to pay up to €25m for Thiago because we won the sextuple again 😏

@@john-adriancoker2789 We dont have any such non renewal policy. We would (and likely will) renew Salah, Vvd, Ali in a heartbeat. Thiago wont be renewed because he hasn't kicked a ball in a year and you wont buy him in January because hes still not fit and you can just get him for free in the summer. Hope he can play 5-10 games for us until then, just play the big games, help us win the league and then mentor Pedri/Gavi at Barca sounds like an amazing final chapter for him tbf

      @john-adriancoker2789 Před 4 měsíci +1

@@MrNilsiboy94Ah so that policy doesn't exist then & I hear you but with the depth in quality L'pool boast such as Szobozlai, MacAlister, Jones, Endo, Granvenberch, Elliot, Bajcetic.
L'pool can definitely win the BPL, UEL, FA cup & league cup without Thiago. I want Barça to sign Thiago on loan, pay 100% of his wages with an obligation to sign & perfomance based add-ons.
Gavi's injury, Lewy's not scoring at his standard rate, an overeliance on Pedri, Frenkie, Gundogan to play let alone create & lack of quality cover in front of the defence.
Signing Thiago in January would solve all of these problems & significantly increase Barça's chances for silverware come the end of the season, more than it would L'pool's. Let him go home early 😂

Despite the lukewarm praise in this video, Zubimendi is the perfect pivot for Barcelona, particularly because his final third woes would be completely nullified by playing alongside Pedri and Gavi/Gundogan.
The other option I could see is Pepelu from Valencia. But he’s more of a DM than a deep lying playmaker, given his stature he is better defensively and he also shows a more robust passing range. But the deep lying playmaker skills are not quite on Zubi’s level and he might need a year or 2 to reach peak form.

People say his not the player we need but I say he has a shot. The LCM position is vacant and he looks like an Arteta sort of player. At the moment, Arsenal does not have someone who can recycle the ball and defensively switched on besides Rice. There is Partey who is always injury prone. Without Partey we jae relied on Jorginho to progress play and sort of create angles on the left. This is important for build up in Arsenal as Rice still needs to improve this side. Another thing is, if Rice had to be injured, who would cover that 6 role?
Arsenal missed Xhakas availability, fitness and his ability to recycle possession deep. His doing well at Leverkusen. Arsenal might just do with Zubimendis passing and availability.
