Chelsea still struggle to break teams down who sit back and defend, our best chances come from winning posession in the final third when the other team is about to counter. Until we can reliably break team defenses down Gallagher is pretty crucial IMO

You cannot do what he does without being 1) intelligent enough to read plays and position oneself properly, 2) technically proficient enough to tackle and play a wide range of passes and 3) be physical enough to win balls and run all game. That’s more than enough talent. Kante could not do what Hazard did but that did not make Kante any less talented. Conor cannot do what Enzo does but that doesn’t make him any worse of a player.
Well comparing Kante to Hazard makes no sense as they play different positions and roles. Enzo and Gallagher play same position similar role. He is a workhorse though. Won’t be enough when trying for a Champions league or battling for the tittle but he has great work rate.

A good team doesn't have to field players with high technical abilities all over the pitch. You need elements from everyone that are different for solving different kinds of problems. As a team you solve defensive, transition and Attacking problems. When you have a box-to-box player like Gallagher you know he can stop a lot of transitions which is what we need.
