Comment below what videos you’d like to see on the GTI
TR Hamza My 8P RS3 would like to race your GTI mate 😉
I have no idea where you go from here other than refitting gti springs on the rear. 20 mins away from done in my book. Have you checked for the insane amount of mud rotting away the ends of the sills under the arches?
Oh i know! Meth injection, will it keep those valves clean?
How about adding a boost gauge?
Track/Street springs and antiroll bars
Just do another POV of u kicking it, love them kind of videos.
Keep it up bro nuff luv my G
Sound bro coming up 🙌🏼
Seconded, would like to see you ripping it like the R32 video 😜
Would like to see;
Track day
Some Quarter mile times
Drag against other cars
0-60, 0-100
I'd happy to get against him my S3 2014 3 Door, I know he used to have one but I don't know if he has access to someone with one so could be a good comparison
Santa Pod and a track day would be good.
Just got one of these for myself as a project after watching your build! Keep it up, subbed and watching for inspiration and ideas of what challenges I might face 😁👌🏻 keep up the good vids!
Instantly noticed difference with camera 📷. Much sharper/brighter 👍🏻👍🏻 When are you getting evo on track !!!!!!
Love these videos, I like how your genuine and don’t pretend to be an expert mechanic. Can’t beat a bit of DIY.
So satisfying looking at the old fluid! Them calipers and disks are looking so so sweet! Love it man
New subscriber here from California...Nice to see that you are one of the few un-obnoxious car youtubers out there...keep it up...
Good stuff man! Cool to see you getting stuck into the diy. Hard when you first start so props to keeping at it
Been watching for a while now and just subscribed. No patreon page, and providing QUALITY content. Good man!
Thank you!
Great brakes! I have the PP package on my Mk7 and it came with the R/S3 brakes. The electronic diff and brakes were well worth searching for a MK7 with the PP package. Good work!
If your going to bleed all your brakes always start with the brake furthest away from the reservoir
Actually that is incorrect. VW is backward. You start closest to the master cylinder and work away from it. I just read the MK5 Bentley manual.
Done mine today bled it and the brake peddle goes all the way down no braking at all
@@badboysergio that happened on my mk6 after bleeding 6 months ago I’ve let it sit but it’s starting to get rusty I got it jumped and it’s a Christmas tree. ABS and traction control lights blinking. Did you ever fix that issue
Yet again another great video Hamza,I'm really enjoying watching them, look forward to more, cheers mate!!!👍
Glad to hear mate! Thank you
Great video Hamza! Love the setup in your garden 👍. Keep up the good work. By the way, the new camera is much better.
Thank you mate! 👍🏼
Good on you for doing loads of stuff yourself matey. Best way to do it!
Those VW wiring plugs are always fun, you have to push on them (compresses the rubber seal inside) before you unlatch the catch bit, also If you solder those 2 wires together the brake pad warning light will go out, but you'll have to keep an eye on your pad wear yourself.
New camera is ace
I have a golf mk5 r32. Love these videos. Keep up the good work. What about a video on cleaning/grinding the rust on the inner arches then spraying. Mk5 all have it and want to do mine
Keep it up bro the mk5 golf vlogs to addictive,, new cam is amazing quality
Glad you like it bro!
When bleeding brakes always bleed the farthest one away from the master cylinder as air can get trapped in the brake lines leaving you with a spongy brake pedal also advise you to put some type of brake grease on your new calipers and pads to stop brake squealing also will make it easier to dismantle when pads need replacing great video mate enjoyed watching it
Working hard as per usual my brother... As you said the car is coming together.
Regarding the ABS/Brake light on the dash, just loop the broken wire(s) so it completes a circuit... this will get rid of the light (temp solution only, lol. Replace it in the long run).
Also I am sure in the past I have seen a car like yours using the front removed calipers and discs on the rears... Just a thought 😉
Great effort buddy keep the viddies coming
Thanks bud 👍🏼
Excellent video! I went through a similar experience when doing my brakes for the first time. Qns: did the caliper mounting brackets fit directly on? Are they 4-pot? And the TTRS brake disks bolted straight on? Could this all be done running the standard 17 inch GTI monza alloys? Thanks!
Straight into the fence 😂😂
Brakes look mahoosive 😎
Luckily no fences were damaged 😂
Before you even mentioned the new camera,I said to myself this video looks much better than usual.👌🏽
Glad to hear 🙌🏼
Keep up the good work! The car needs to be lowered ASAP! Thanks for the great content.
Thank you! And agreed, very soon 👍🏼
Love the videos keep it up
EID MUBARAK keep it up
When youre doing the back brakes... start bleeding at the passenger rear, then drivers. Also bleed the front again. Grease the pads.
The car looks great and im amazed how good it is for its mileage. Good job.
If I didn’t have an 80 mile round trip commute, I fancy doing this as a project myself!
Both this and Aleems vid pop up on my phone... It's gotta be this vid first always!!
The brake pad light should go off if you twist the wires together for now until you get the Wear sensor sorted hope it helps 👍🏻
blacked out projector retrofits would change the whole look of the car completely 🔥
Good work brother , your gti is flawless machallah, i think next step is installing front r32/gti headlights the one with a light "directionally" bulb
Be good to see what this would be like as a daily hence the new horses and the mileage!! Reliability wise!
Hi , were the golf R brakes just a straight bolt on with the new caliper ?
I always grease up the backs of the pads, never get any squealing.
Did notice a squeak yesterday after a few days driving. Might take it apart again and grease them, thanks for the tip 👍🏼
TR Hamza defo put some copper grease on them, put some on where the wheel sits on the disc aswell
@@TRHamzaget some high temp brake grease from euro car parts, it doesn't dry out like copper grease can, costs about 3 quid. 👍
@@tracktimevideos5164 yeah I agree get some proper brake breeze👍🏻
To save loads of brake fluid running out you can take the reservoir cap off and cut a piece of polythene or plastic bag about 100mm square and place it over the reservoir then put the cap back on. That should create a seal and stop all that brake fluid loss.
Did you have to add wheel spacers when upgrading to mk7 golf r calipers or is there enough clearance behind wheel
Camera looks good bro. I’d say paint the back callipers black. Would look a lot better. Change suspension too when you can. Can’t wait to see this car when finished. Hopefully you sort body and minor details out. I know it’s nearly 200k Miles but old is gold as they say. Also for the break pad grease check out Textar Cera Tec from Euro Car Parts it’s a ceramic paste. It’s much better than copper grease. Read quite a bit about it on forums. Works a charm.
If you want to switch the pad warning off, bridge the wire that broke so basically cut the broken connector off and join the 2 wires together
Loving the videos Hamza! I know its a long way off but please tell me you'll be taking all 3 cars out in the snow this year. (if we get any) :)
Hi Hamza, is there any reason why you opted for the audi discs and not the golf R mk7 ones? Thanks
You bleed furthest away from the master cylinder first which is nearside rear, offside rear, nearside front then offside front.
its dual circuit split diagonally so if you get a leak on say the offside front you still have full braking on offside rear and nearside front.
is the difference in diameter really noticable? I want to upgrade my brakes and am thinking about multi-piston ones do those make more sense?
Good stuff, bit of advice on bleeding brakes. You really want to start with the caliper that's furthest away from the master cylinder and work your way to the cylinder. For example on my Polo GTI, it would be rear left, rear right, front left and then front right. About 10-15 seconds is enough for the bleeder to be open normally.
I would agree with that normally, but the Golf MK5 has a specific bleed order which is start at nearest to master cylinder.
Also it's well worth bleeding out the clutch - shared system with the brakes, so there is still some old fluid in there. Plus if you have VCDS/VAG-COM then go through the ABS cycle too to get the old fluid out of there.
@@chrisryan3445 Thanks for the information. I never knew that for the Mark V.
you planning on changing the lights on the car? suggest HIDs theyre bright and give off a white colour
Sony gang all day, another top video mate
TOP MAN!
Should get a ecu for 2 step. For that you need a cateless downpipe a cold air intake and maybe a stock turbo. Deffo worth it
Would've been sick if you done a 60 to 0 video before brakes change and one after, would u be able to get a standard Golf gti and compare it?
the new camera is looking very good bro 🔥
Glad to hear bro 🔥
I am doing the exact same setup, did you need any special carriers, bolts, lines etc and or could you share your part numbers please, thanks again,
How much did that pressurized bleeder bottle kit cost you? did you get it on amazon? Also, the wires on the front brake sensor always break like that super common. If you can get on vag-com you can actually deselect the brake light warning, which also deselects the empty washer fluid warning as well. Did it on mine because I had the same issue with that sensor wire.
Great video bro.
Do you have part number for the brake bleeder you used at the caliper end ? Thanks
Bro love the vids , try investing in a high pressure steamer for those kind of parts , after using it to clean all the gung off spray it with a metal friendly anti rust and just wipe it down
Good job join the two brake pad wires together to get rid of light on dash
Keep up the work bro, alot of youtubers have project cars but have done no mods lol
Haha thank you bro, gotta be done
So the ko4 or whatever, in an mk5 gti whats the 0-60mph? And 100? Im real curious
my type of mechanicing! rounding things off, having to buy a million tools for something supposedly simple, fluid and cr@p everywhere but get there in the end - nice one
I know that now ou don't have the car, but did you remember how it was the pedal feel after that?
Hi Hamz, I want to replicate this brake set up, so: MK7 Golf R callipers ✅
Audi TTS disks, what year or Mk did you order please ?
Braided lines, what vehicle did you order the for please ?
Thanks in advance, loving all your content 👍
Looking well now pal doing well with it she's a animal waiting to be let loose nice
Stock 312's are fucking terrifying when your stage 2+, i can't imagine ko4 conversion on them lol.
What brake hoses did you used for the mk7 R calipers as youve used tts discs but mk7 r pads so curuios what hoses u would use?
Golf r discs and that’s it on a mkv Gti? What else do you need ?
Nice vid bro, is there a particular order to bleed the brakes in??
LEDs or HID lights, DEFI Gauges...camera big improvement...as usual, like the direction of your channel. i think you might run out of room for all the cars soon though!
Need to come an see you bro with my mk7 gtd get some advice what i can do with my mk7 i had the mk5 gti mk5 r mk6 gti
The brake lines are for a Mk5 GTI ou MK7 Golf R?
what about suspension? It looks pretty high in the rear
I started down the same route...but ended up with new cayman calipers SKF bearings HEL lines textar pads mtec discs inner and outer tie rods oem shocks and eibach springs Nothing worse than getting carried away
Finalyyyy!
Anyone with a VCDS can code the brake light off the dash and delet the sensor from the ecu. If you got no1 I can do it for you. Them sensors always break
Good content keep it coming.
That brakes fit on standart 17 gti alloys?
Good job
Did you convert the rears to Golf R???
Do most normally have some1 pump the brakes when you are bleeding or does that Sealey do the job
This pressuriser removes the need for two people
Quick question which lines did you use
Hamza provides REAL content. 4 best channels for car lovers. #TRHamza #LLF #Shmee150 #Yiannimize. Any other channel is just repeated content. I love this guys work! Its original! Keep it up
Dont forget Officially Gassed with Jaimy! 🤩
@@Vellinga94 nah fam I rather watch sideways sid than that
Where did you get the bleed kit from bro?
Nice golf simple I like it
Drag races against other cars.
Beating them.
If you lose, well back to appreciating beauty of the MK5 and get it ready to push it more!
Will arrange some car line ups with it
Thank you!
Where did you get the break bleeder??
I remember when you used to review cars from 5k subscribers
Good vids! Keep them coming.. next time id put copper grease on so they dont squeak!👌🏽👌🏽
Ah don’t need copper grease
You gonna tint the windows bro? Since the car came grey just do a black and grey theme. Theres also a red strip on the front grill change that to black too. Also blacken any chrome badges including rear. I must av missed a few things but up to you bro. Keep it up my g
Where do u get your stuff from I wanna do what u doing
I really like that golf
Great you'll be a good car guy and mechanic. I'm also studying motor vehicle course I've done 2 years and one more year then I'll be working full time, if you need help let me know maybe one day I'll come and help once I've got car and also copleted this year as I need abit more knowlege, but I know the basics and some parts with engine. I like the videos I do each quite alot of these types of videos such as Chris fix because his a professional mechanic i learnt alot from you tube and alot from college had good experience, hopeing to get more better his year as I love working on old cars it's my passion.
How much hp golf R brake can handle?
Great video! Im on my way doing the same but i have 18" mags. Will the R caliper clear the wheel? Cheers
probably yes since all the 7R allows 20" 19" and 18" without any further Assessment or certificate
A stock golf r vs your GTI and do a comparison video
a tuned mk5 gti is alot better
Love the scoobie vids
Next video 🙌🏼
Nice Video man! I really love your content. Where did you order the brake set?
Thanks man! MK7 R Callipers and Lines are used, and Brake discs/pads are off Eurocarparts website
Keep up the good work man! Was it a plug and play with the whole brake installation for the brake pad of a mk7 to a mk5 ? No other tools needed. Cause that’s what I see in this video
Straight bolt on
Strip the brake sensors wire back and join the two wires together and it will get rid of the warning
Can someone explain to me why more power needs bigger brakes.
