so you essentially mK7'd your MK8. Makes sense to go with a platform that still works. Being a former MK7 owner, I ALWAYS thought that the MK7 generation was the best generation ever. TR Hamza, you just proved it 👍
Well it isn’t. Evo4 has a lot more power gains
Hamza not to be rude but where tf is the E60 M5 the reason i started to watch the channel is because of the M5 and honestly i miss it where is it
Also the EA888 is arguably the greatest 4 cylinder period the way it puts down power the way it controls the power band there's no downsides to it they don't need 800hp to feel fast like you said you don't even need much parts on it just a downpipe and you literally downloading horsepower it's an amazing motor without a doubt , also the MK8 R would be amazing with a 3.6 from the Passat R36 just do a full naturally aspirated build on it let it make a little over 300hp na and it'll be a rocket it'll sound outrageous and if you lift up the bonnet it'll look gorgeous

Thanks for this, I have a 2024 mk8 (Canada) and after watching ALL your videos on your journey, two things, I'm so impressed by your calm and patient nature, and secondly, I think I will do springs, but nothing more than 25mm drop, air intake (race line), and stage one tune. Of cource gas strut under the hood "bonnet" not sure what Volkswagen was thinking? That should've been included - and as much as I dislike the tail pipes, I don't see the point for myself to go any further. Thanks for this - a bit late to this hobby, but so addictive to always improve, well anything really. Awesome videos, if you're ever in Canada...
(The addition we get in Canada of the golf R is already loaded, you either get a Golf R, or a GTI)

Imo you've not done enough content on this in total or at any stage. Because it is so new people are interested in it's gains. It would've been great to have seen what actual perfirmance was achieved at stage 2 and compare that at stage 3.
What I'd like to see is you take the journey to HGP in germany and compare your car to there's. See what they are doing right and what we are doing wrong.
There's loads of content available for this, but your missing it.

Nice to see the MK8 R back💪🏽Will is definitely switched on, it was good thinking to use the V5. I'll be honest, the MK8 content is good, but I think it's had its day now. R36 and Caddy RS content has definitely been more interesting to me, from where it's more involved and 'in house' work done by yourself. It is super cool to see that much power without having a built engine though. Nice work as always bro, hope you're good👊🏽

Nice to see the 8R back. I think going back to a 7 based turbo setup should only be a short term answer. Given time there will be a better way of using the 8 based turbo set up. Keep up the good work Hamza 👍 #HPA550 conversion ? 😂

Would you go back to reviewing other peoples cars and their builds? I loved watching that style of content you put out too. Especially when you were in the multi-storey car parks. Those vibes were always sick
Tbf other tuners did more without forging the engine example : AMC performance stage 3 stock turbo on 99 Ron did 554 hp 721 nm, BR performance on stage 3 full E85 did 602 hp 698 nm clearly this engine can handle hp even with only pump fuel.
Everything can handle more power untill it goes boom. Also some dyno figures are optimistic.

Put mpi ! I mean secondary rail with bigger injectors they will lower the egt's and there is a turbo from TTH with an egt sensor or you Can fit it into any hybrid turbo via a machine shop.
Egt's are very important to monitor and mpi play a key role in cooling and getting rid of carbon deposits in the ports/ valves
Also a vwr external engine oil cooler would be great
And make it quieter please😅

I was only thinking of dropping a VR6 turbo in my mk7 R estate the other day when I'm bored of the car 😂
After growing up and hearing old mk3 Golf VR6 turbos, this has got to be a winning combination, it sometimes isn't about outright power
The VR6 is the main these R models have been missing, 2.0L is capable but doesn’t have much character!

You dont seem as happy with this stage 3 on this Golf R compared to for example the stage 2/3 on the M140i lol.. I think that was your best stage2/3 car you have enjoyed
Its kind of a predictable experience so there's nothing to get surprised about, and the EA888 (even at this power) after the RS3 Stage 3 doesn't quite hit the same lol
you're right, he definitely isnt too happy with this one. I mean coming from a stage 3 rs3 into this is part of the reason. I have a TTRS pushing around 640hp at the engine/ 540whp on e85 stock turbo running low 10 seconds in the 1/4. If I drove this, I wouldn't be impressed either. Still a nice car but speed and enjoyment is all relative and he has already been in better and faster cars.

I have thr same type surge on my stage 2 gti(not as bad) but only happens on partial throttle low rpm probs making more boost than throttle body is allowing to enter the engine

What's the point? The 8R with gen4 ea888 will make similar power to the gen 3 ea888 7R. That's around 600-640 with meth. Unless you run e85 or race fuel then around 700-750 max. Its just the stock fuel pumps, turbo that make 8r make more power then the 7r but when you go stage 3 then it's the same power

If you got VRS to fit everything, why did you not get them to tune it as well? Is it just personal preference to get it tuned there? Or why didn't you get MRC to fit everything since you're having it tuned there anyway?
Why mess with a generic EA888 4 pot when you have a 3.6 VR6 to play with. Yeh the mk8 is more refined but the R36 has all the character and it's not ridiculously overpriced like the MK8.

I would like to think that in the back of your head, you know the turbo in your MK8 Golf R, was taken from the MK7/7.5 platform, and that is why you "think it feels" more like a MK7.

The dq381 possibly has been revised for the 8r plus doug tuned the box and these boxes can handle more torque then the 250
So what's the max HP and torque on the stock engine after all the bolt ons?
