- Upgrading the turbo on the MK5 GTI has finally started. This was PART 1 where we upgraded the intercooler and the K04 DV relocate pipe. Stay tuned for the next part in a few days!

Get the fog grills with the cut outs! Reduce your engine bay temps slightly with increased air flow into the engine bay..

What Pioneer head unit did you install?
I have done this for the radiator and the top of the cooling fan is hitting my pipe so the fan can't run freely. All of the cooling system parts are falling on to it so it must be something simple like two bolts I've missed? Or does anyone know what problem I have? Ps the slip in blocks are in the slots were supposed to be but not sure if bolts go in behind them?

Condensation is normal, new exhaust and that level of smoke is to be expected - like your new brake discs need oil cleaning off, so do exhaust cause they have the same anti-corrosive oil coating which smokes like hell while its new :)
@TR HAMZA are you going to be putting power flex bushes on? If so I’d go with black series,they say it’s got track and purple ones road series,go for black series there LOADS better and makes the car to stick to the road like glue
The plastic tank end intercooler should be ok as long as you're not going to be running crazy boost.. They can be bad for cracks if you're running mad boost, leading to boost leaks.
Yeah not really chasing figures on this car, but I understand the benefits of going with the metal end ones

Good luck with it all. One question, should the exhaust stick out so far, that would mess with my ocd. I'd want it more flush. Great work though :)

An idea for the next project car: a 1.8 tsi mqb car, it is the same engine generation as the golf R so all the mods you can put on an R it automatically fits the 1.8tsi. With the right mods you can get as high as 350hp which is nearly twice it’s stock hp.

Hi mate, thank you! I got the Control Arm Anti Lift bushes on, made a huge difference. Rest will be going on in an upcoming video dedicated to handling mods

Riz honestly it depends because if you can get a decent mileage engine for cheap and you can be bothered to replace it, yeah but it’s all your choice

As far as i can tell he did say catback and not catless so yes it should pass emissions test

John-David Freeman why so? You obviously don’t drive in heavy traffic and clutches always shudder and slip
@@kenrossaukrsa oh I do drive in heavy traffic, but I find the 6 speed to be rather jerky, not as smooth as I expected. Also, I don't feel as engaged as I would with a manual.

You don't really have to empty coolant to swap intercoolers, trust me 😀
Doing a turbo swap, and changing some coolant hoses, so I need to in my situation

Didn't know you are changing cooling hoses, in that case it's necessary to drain coolant.

Should have done the Ac condensor also.. if its blocked/fins bent..it will restrict the flow to the rad.... respect though for givin this a go..:)

@@garybocking4541 To counter the blocked condensor.. ish if you switch AC on the rad fans run all the time... I think... but running AC uses a little engine power.. and Mr Hamza is cool enoughf anyways :)

Thanks 👌🏼 True, but the inlet is gonna get pulled off again when it’s at R tech as they’re doing a walnut blast and will clean the injectors for me
Without forge pistons can these handle 350+ bhp
Any 2 litre petrol can go over 500 bhp, but the lag from the turbo will be annoying especially without dsg

In the UK we measure at crank, and K04 converted AXX/BWA do 350 all day long. Look up R tech Performance on Facebook
