I did the front top mounts on my mk6 gti dsg going from drive to reverse made a loud clunking. Sooo much better now like a new car.

Like what you’re doing. Bought a mkv GTI 05 in 2010 on 55,000 and took it to 190,000 before the missus crashed it. Solid car, potential to last for ages 👍 Have another now only on 58,000. A total steal for the price, buy now, future classics

Hey Hamza, before you pension off the GTI, I really would love to see a video about a diff going into it? Quaife/Gripper or something. My mapped K03 GTI struggles with the power in the wet and cornering and I reckon this would make all the difference. You could even do a track day or something. Great GTI content, Thanks!
The engine cut off might be the fuel pump relay, happened to my mk5 aswell for a bit. Some buzzing noise aswell when you turn it off

If the soft line to the HPFP hasn't been changed, I would look into that. The hose can deteriorate over time, especially on a car that regularly has the follower changed. Mine was bad enough that it would throw the car into limp mode under boost.

my mk5 loses coolant when driving long distance (motorway driving) but loses nothing in local roads… taken to couple of garages no1 knows what it is… any idea what it could be?
If the creak persists after fitting the TTRS top mounts, I can guarantee it is the front subframe shifting. There are two companies offering solutions to this - ECS Tuning, and Tyrol Sport. The Tyrol Sport deadset collar kit involves adding collars onto the front subframe setup, completely eradicating the subframe shifting. The ECS tuning kit didn't work as well for me, after removing the ECS kit, you could still see clear marks on the spacers where the subframe was still shifting.

Check the fuel trim, most 6R owners have this issue from this type of intake.

Check out the good year eagle f1 Asym 5, just fitted to my mk5 gti and wet grip is superior. Well worth it I would think with the power yours has and considering it rains most of the time in Uk😑!

I adore ur car dude, I live in Africa n not a lot of people know how to tune cars like u cars (as u can tell by how I call what u did to ur going XD)
auto doc yes parts are way cheaper and wider range is available, if you can wait 10 days for delivery its brilliant make sure you do select safe order. Annoying thing is its very hard to find the right part for your car especially for beginners unless you ask them by providing your vin number and they will take some time to come back with the right part

I've seen some decent houses outside London. I live in London in a 3 bed house with a garage at the back and it's worth about £480k. I saw a nice 5 bed house in Waltham cross with a double garage at the back for £525k. For 40k more I'd definitely get that if I have a good wage to pay for the mortgage or have a wife who we'd joint pay towards it 😂

Thanks for the update, I wondered where you had gone and what was happening with the GTI! I will admit that I will be sad to see it go, its been a great adventure but when you do decide to move it on I'm sure the next owner will love it and appreciate all the things you have done. Bring on the next project! Please though, keep it along the same lines. Something simple and a bit old school - maybe a Renault Sport Meganne 225 or focus ST. Too many big £ builds on CZcams already.
Agreed mate - will definitely keep it a very relatable type of project as I find them more fun to work on. A car along the lines of what you mentioned is definitely on the cards!
What about doing a Xenon conversion, R32 styling, painting side skirts.... haven´t seen a xenon conversion on youtube, think a lot og mk5 owners would love to see how...
I've found with my high mileage gti that you get issues pretty frequently.... but those bastards just dont die. they soldier on regardless.
It’s probably the high pressure fuel pump, swapping the internals can be problematic

still have that oil fill "turtle neck"? Take the 30 seconds to get rid of it..
Didn't know you could do this? Ive avoided getting rid of the ugly cover because the turtle neck would look silly and I'd prefer something that's oem+. I've not really looked.... does it just unscrew or something?

Be warned, ordered through autodoc using there reg part checker. When it arrived the part didnt fit my car. I messaged them and was told I should have checked first as the reg checker cant be trusted.
