Found a DANGEROUS Problem on the GTI!

- Back at R-Tech. Installed a few nice handling bits from the guys at Whiteline, and then also managed to solve an issue that's been bugging me for a few weeks.

The Whiteline sway bars are great. For a Road car there's probably no need to put in the front one. Run the rear on the middle hole, which is enough to stop the rear from pogo-ing around corners. Also the Whiteline supplied poly bushes are best replaced with rubber bushes - or they will squeak then rattle as they wear. They also cause the u-brackets to snap after a while. I got replacement u-brackets from Whiteline no issues, and then found some rubber bushes from a rear Landcruiser bar that fitted perfectly and made the car even more pleasant again. On my MKV GTI I still run the stock suspension, Whiteline rear bar on middle hole with rubber bushes, aftermarket dogbone with poly dogbone insert.
0:30 All that and then a stock shift knob, pure comedy right there!

What do you change the problematic front lower arm mount for genuine or other aftermarket parts?

Just done my front droplinks what an absolute nightmare they were.
Had to use a sledgehammer banging down onto the spanner to undo the nut with little room around the nut and tight all the way to the end and an big adjustable wrench to hold that terrible double flat headed nut from spinning.
Replaced with new ones same as the golf with the allen key fitment at one end.
A lot better.

ill be honest i looked under my E46 the other day and almost died at the state of it,, uk living its a rustmare.. plan to get second hand parts , powder coat then fit all new bushes , camera angle at 7.01 was spot on by the way
The problem is the Dangerous driver 😜
Vibration in the steering/suspension could be a number of reasons.
wheel hub bearings.
Inner/outer cv joint.
18" wheels with a low profile tyres.
Poor tyre quality.
Wishbone.
Struts.
Bushings.
Sway bar.
Suspension .
There's a few things to check there
Guys I need advise I currently have a Mk5 gti with catless downpipe with apr stage 1 I'm looking to add intake and go stage 2. What would best remap route apr stage 2 remap or a custom remap.
I'm going to r-tech in a couple of weeks, hopefully work their magic

You reckon its more fun to buy a GTI or R32? Trying to stick with the MK5 Generation, I know the R32 V6 can never be beaten esp its noise but can’t really decide. Probably gonna go for your GTI build if GTI.

Yeah after my old '98 jetta vr6 i have no desire for another vr6 UNLESS its almost new AND i puy a turbo or super charger on it right away because i just wasnt imprezsed with the performance and the gas mileage wasnt anything to write home about either .
**Picking up my first non 8 valve, non mk2 gti in the next day or few, a 2.0t and i am beyond excited-- heck i already have upgraded turbos lined up so i can really get some big(ger) HP out of it asap!!
Man i cant wait to have the thousands of watts and upped HP going!!

The solution to having two free hands while working on your car. Get a head mounted camera it mite look silly to you at the time but to us we can see everything you can see and you will have two free hands to work 👊🏾

Always takes ages to uploads videos
Used to watch the GTI content for the realistic aspect, now it's "at r-tech all to yourself, got this part for free" it's become a show for views/subs, all about numbers now.
None of the parts in this video are free. The previous mod video was showing a inexpensive brake upgrade which I fitted at home and showed how to do it. Not gonna turn away ramp access for a fiddly task just to make it ‘realistic’ for you, there’s enough previous videos for that.
