    The garden looks beautiful. We all like to think our mums are still spring chickens but the reality is as fit as Nanny Di is she’s struggling with her joints. Sensitive I know but it’s something she loves so help her out Mark. A stick for the garden and a rail x

    I don't like Nanny Di going up and down those steps on her own, going up or down she is quite unsteady. Mark that's a job for you, a hand rail of some sorts for her to hold on to.

    Nanny Di I am so sorry you were having upsets I hope you are feeling happier now. The garden is luscious, but I am a nervous wreck watching Nanny Di going up and down those steps. Could you please add another step and put a lovely wrought iron hand rail or some other nice handrail in keeping with the garden to help Nanny Di with her mobility? I loved this GFH.

    scrape the weeds out, rake the soil, put cardboard on the soil, soak the cardboard, then add compost/soil on top...then plant what u like. no more weeds :) i must of said this about 10 times now . would help a lot, can get on with planting rather than constant weeding then.

      Well I wish that would happen in my garden as ive used everything from cardboard to different cheap and expensive matting which are meant to keep weeds from appearing but they still keep popping back up!!
      Not saying that that happens in all gardens,just wish it didn't in mind!!🙃😘

    • @chrislc35
      @chrislc35 Před 4 lety +1

      @@deebarton8303 odd ones do appear still. also depends on the weeds. im no gardener, i just looked on youtube and used the wet cardboard trick and it worked great. unless you tarmac the whole area i think weeds will always pop up somewhere tho :)

    Now Mark, you’re very hard on your mum. So just stop it you naughty boy. Speak kindly to her please. Be gentle and remember, do you want your girls to be cranky and impatient with you in 20 years. And here endeth the lesson 😉🌻🌷PS I vaguely recall from my dad’s farming day that lupins are very good at adding nitrogen to the soil 🌿

    Totally agree with the comments. Poor Nanny Di, omg my heart bleeds for her. She is struggling physically, but her very intelligent mind means she wants to do things, but her body is not letting her. So frustrating, and Nanny Di, I am same age as Nadia, so much younger than you, but totally get what you are going through. Same is happening to me at this age, happened to my mum, who was 86 when she passed last year.
    I also get the feeling Mark does not want to see it, bless you Mark. Your channel has been the best to me for a long time before Covid, plus you recognised a comment I made and responded, when my son in law died from cancer at age 29, back in June (8 June), and that meant the world to me. Thank you for what you are doing.

    Nanny Di, I use a stick, not all the time , don’t like it, but it really helps getting up and down steps etc, I use it because I don’t want to fall and cause problems , you can get ones that stand by themselves so you can leave it to stand up while busy but just get hold when needed x

    • @allisonmarsh1638
      @allisonmarsh1638 Před 4 lety +3

      Sandra Lupson that’s what I worry about with her and quite a few obstacles in the way, she sometimes uses the broom to help her down, a stick would give her something to lean/push on, I feel safer using one. Hope you don’t have any more falls x

    The black weed suppressant membrane is best for keeping the weeds down , but you need the metal u shaped pegs to hold it down, other methods just rot after a while so ethos is the best solution
