I’ve Always liked flowers but plants ect used to take me back to my childhood where my brothers & I were forced to watch THE BEECHGROVE GARDENS Every Sunday When Visiting my Gran (who was a keen gardener). I literally CRIED each time 😂😂😂 I found it truly Awful. I really didn’t think I’d like to watch GFH with all The Gardening but I WOULDNT MISS IT FOR THE WORLD! I have been watching this religiously For 10 months now & I can’t believe I like Plants & Mark & Nanny Di make such A Great Team & I find That They make it so Educational too......I think I can name 5 plants now - NEVER WOULD I HAVE THOUGHT 🤔🤔. I don’t normally watch the GF Hells. I can’t lie, any sort of gardening programme makes me want to *throws head back and snores* but I’m grateful to Mark that he made the effort to edit, so here I am. Watching and pretending I care about the subject matter. Sending happy and healthy thoughts to my fellow subs and gratitude to the Sawalha-Adderleys. I have five family members who have tested positive - some who barely have a cold and some who have been admitted to hospital. Covid 19 is a game of Russian Routlette, that’s what makes it so terrifying. You just don’t know what will happen until the virus pulls its trigger. Thankful for this channel, which I watch on my most anxious days. The beeb have nothing on you guys! 😉

If you cover the bed with cardboard and damp it down it will kill the weeds cover the cardboard with compost clean bed ready for spring . Get a auger for digging to save your back dafty

Good to recycle soil. But remember it’s just a conditioner for the soil. All the nutrients have been used by other plants. So what you need to start using is fertiliser a general N P K that is nitrogen, potassium,phosphorus. Easy to pick up from your garden centre.

A rock garden - yes! My Dad at 12 y/o came home with a boulder like that in a wheelbarrow and my Nan made a rockery outside the kitchen window;this was 1932 and a newbuild council house). I used to love sitting on that rock.

Great GFH as usual 😊 I wouldn’t worry too much about the rock unless your planting trees or shrubs on top as normal flower plant don’t root that far down in soil. A bit of handy garden equipment you might invest in is a leaf blower as it’s far easier to control the fallen leaves with. Keep up the great work your doing an amazing job. Xxxx
Magnolia are a lovely surprise. They arrive early. From my jogs years ago, my route had a beauty in a walled garden. It was always the best time and lifted my spirits. They need to be stared at whilst they’re in full blossom. Great choice for your space. London gardens are a real bonus especially now. You both really enjoy that area, it’s a different energy. This had been a tough and scary week for me as my daughter and husband both tested positive for the virus last weekend. My daughter has had mild symptoms though not typical ones and my husband barely had symptoms when tested. My son and I had negative results so a relief but don’t feel we’re out of the woods yet. I’m in the at risk group too so trying to keep a distance but not really easy in an average sized house. You guys have kept me sane this week and vlogmas has made me smile so thank you, thank you, thank you, it’s so appreciated. Stay safe everyone x

Hi mark love watching ur gfh .has me in fits of laughter lol...but please when you plant your trees and shrubs ..please give them a good start mix some feed and nutrition into the soil you are going to back fill with ..all your shrubs and trees would also love a top dressing of feed in early spring x

I have planted which I am inspired from you when you have planted beautiful flowers watching in previous vloggs you both planted your trees that will blossom next Yr and this vlog you have inspired me again. The soil in you’re garden looks very rich .
Hawthorn flowers, leaves, berries strengthen heart muscles. Hawthorn belongs to the Hawthorn fairy 🧚♀️ it is a magical tree, if you cut the whole tree down you will have bad luck. If you have a Hawthorn, Ash, Oak growing close you will have a “fairy porthole between them. Hawthorn also know as the May Tree.

The soil looks good - it just needs more fibre in it from the leaves and old plants

Be careful of not planting the willow tree too close to the house as the roots can damage foundations

I also.am not a Gardener,I was given a Violet and told there would be no.way I could kill it but I manage to do just that.If I could I would plant some honeysuckle,I love the smell of Honeysuckle,my grandma used.to.wear a honeysuckle perfume by Avon and it gives me wonderful memories of childhood.

Weeping willows get in all the drain pipes and even the neighbours drain pipes. We aren't allowed to plant them in any residential areas in our country due to the damage they cause.
I've told him this on several occasions about the invasiveness of weeping willow roots. It'll also completely obliterate his foundation and the foundations of the houses around. The roots sprawl for miles.

I’d love you to make your own compost, and you could put the dead leaves, dead twigs, food scraps, newspapers etc By next spring you’ll have some good quality compost to grow your veggies, and you can sprinkle it on the lawn. But I think the compost has to be in the ratio of 30:1 Carbon- nitrogen, brown and green.
Ask Kiki if she would fancy painting something on your mystery boulder.... Then place a nice plant pot on it.... Just a idea.
