Aww, Nanny Di you are allowed to be upset and tearful I hope you got lots of hugs, and you are certainly not stupid you are very loved not only by your family but by all us subs. I hope you can plant glorious things in your new bed, so make plans for what you want to plant. You also did a splendid job of weeding, the garden is so massive it's an ongoing job. Well Mark you didn't half work hard well done, you were sweating buckets and you did a sterling job, how beautiful. I look forward to the next GFH.

Such a fantastic episode of GFH! I loved the interaction between Mark and Nanny Di, and the lovely gesture making sure she would get to have her own bed as promised, you could see it meant a lot to her 💗 The Landscaping around the hot tub was a pure labour of love from Mark to Nadia, you could see that even though it wasn’t to his aesthetic taste he just wanted to bring Nadia happiness, and he looked so pleased and joyful when she was delighted with it, and Nadia was genuinely touched with how hard he had worked to bring her dream to life! My husband hates gardening, so i always feel that when he does help out with weeding and other gardening chores it feels like a really loving gesture, and always touches my heart as he knows how much I love, and get joy from, our garden 💗🌺🌻🌸🌼

Mark watching you struggle with those weeds! Here in New Zealand we have tropical weeds- really troublesome!! Please watch Charles Dowding - "starting out no dig, explained" on youtube. He shows a method to suppress weeds which is virtually no effort and pretty much free, using Cardboard and Compost. He is a farmer for supermarkets in Britain, but his method can be applied to garden beds, ESPECIALLY new ones ( I know you are planning a new one!) Hope this helps!!
Where your sewage entrance is why, don't you get some bricks to marry up with circular outside ones. Make a sort of sun dial feature. Then level up to it with your stones etc.

Wood chips look good and, apparently, prevent most weeds. Any that grow through it can be killed with boiling water or diluted washing-up liquid.
Also, Mark, Monty Don says: when planting a tree, you should loosen the soil clump on it with your fingers, breaking the roots encourages growth before planting. Make the hole twice as wide than deep, loosen the bottom and sides of the hole with a fork, gradually fill it, stamping down the loose soil until it's filled. Then stake the tree at a 45-degree angle against the prevailing wind, tie securely, and water and mulch generously. Water the tree for a year, remove the stake after 3 years, and re-mulch every five years.
Love the new seating area and hiding the hot tub with the bamboo was a great idea!

Best garden vlog ! Loads of stuff achieved. Well done. Maybe you can paint the paving slab black too to fit with the stepping stones? And put more white stones around the gnome. Hope you tidy the pots up around the hot tub tho! Looks a bit crazy. Lights look good. I think you should turn the eating table horizontal though, and maybe you could build a pergola frane over the hot tub and eating table so you have somewhere to hang the lights? Be great to see you thoughts on your garden areas/plan and where you are aiming to head too. Ps. Check out Penstemon’s 🌺

fun watching you compact :) i bought the SAME one last year. my garden was all weeds for years until i tried to resolve it. like you. learning as i went, lots of youtube vids researching. and i understand, u do feel manly ordering hardcore and compacting it , then seeing before and after, and YOU did that. feels good , so well done :)
Mark, you could buy some clear silicone to stick the pebbles to the manhole surround (the stuff they use for ponds).

Hot tub renovation completed with honours Mark. Can see you feeding Nadia grapes in the hot tub now, with your toga on, if you please. It all adds a really interesting area to the garden. Weeds will always come back you need to use a hoe several times a week to keep the weed seedlings at bay before they get a chance to grow

Put a fig tree in the space , they grow lovely and the fruit is incredible
Mark in the winter l think you feel good if you get a big skip for the front garden and sort that out and mark l also wanted to let you know my daughters and my wife have started doing more because of the green fingers hell vlogs in are gardens the front and back one we got small gardena we got alot of flowers for bees and butterfly and we all enjoyed it so thanks for sharing idea and your back garden is lokking great you should watch the old vlogs and see how far you and nanny di have come

May suggest a heavy mulch over your beds to Keep the weeds away. It will reduce the need for weeding:-)
