    Hello from Alaska... I thought the speedometer was out, and was going to bypass using your later explanation...but as you I found two broken wires that once jumped resulted in the spedo working, the wire from factory was so tight and looking under a magnifier it appears the wires snapped, factory defect for sure. Thanks for sharing its all good now

    The hard shifting could also be the spring that is attached to the foot brake is not pulling the detent out in the transmission that actually locks it in the gear you can either get a little bit shorter spring or drill a hole down from the one that it's in now on the foot brake so the spring is tighter when you push down it actually unlocks the transmission.

    Hey man, got my 97 Xplorer 500 running because of your videos. Have a problem though you might have an answer to.
    I thought my reverse limiter was bad because the only way to get spark was by unplugging the black wire from it. But when I put the replacement on, I found out it only lost spark when I put the screw in to mount it to the frame, I guess it caused it to ground out? Any idea why mounting it to the spot it’s supposed to be causes that? If I leave it dangling there it runs good with all the wires connected.

    Can you help me with something man cause I would really appreciate it? Is Polaris 4wd on demand a reliable system? I have heard so much hate from other people online about those systems. And I don’t understand where all the hate is coming from. I think Polaris is a great brand of atv. I’ve had a Polaris for the last 8 year now. And my Machine is still running and doing better than ever!. I don’t understand it.

    • @TitaniummanGarage
      @TitaniummanGarage  Před rokem +1

      Well...It all depended on how well they maintained it. The old ones had a hillard cutch in the front hubs. If they didn't change the hub fluid, guess what? failure..no 4x4. As time went by Polaris went to a front differential with the clutch inside it to drive the 4x4. From 2003 to 2006 they failed. weak clutch. Also there is the wiring issue by the neck of the handlebars. If the wires rubbed from turning?..The speedo and 4x4 doesn't work. I have repaired over 250 Polaris. Anytime the 4x4 doesn't work the first thing I check for bad ground and bad wires. Once again its all about maintenance. If kept outside all the time the wires will corrode. Also they had an issue with their speedometers around 2002 or so. When they quit working so did the 4x4 because the wires ran through the speedo to the 4x4. Each Brand has different issues. I wouldn't own a Honda though a quiet engine they had a plastic gear that broke that drove the 4x4. My favorite year is the 2004 Sportsman. before the ECM box. Polaris had issues with those at first. Bad vendor. They worked things out over the years. I know a guy that had a 2007 with 9000 miles on it. He never had any issues with it. I think people have a bad taste in their mouth because of issues they had over the years. I haven't heard anything bad about the 4x4 not working in the new ones yet. I know some guys don't like it because you have to engage the 4x4 before hitting a mud puddle. To each is own I guess. Hope that helps.

      @@TitaniummanGarage what would you have to say about just the overall Polaris reliably? Reliable or should I go with other brands? because I’m personally planning on getting either a 500x2 or an 800x2(both EFI)but i don’t know if that is a smart way to go or if I’m gonna be dead in the water within 3 or 4 months of owning it. But going off of what you said about the 9k miles= no issues. Think I’m sold on a sportsman from the late 2000’s. I guess the old ones are far better then the 2023 and 4 model?

    • @TitaniummanGarage
      @TitaniummanGarage  Před rokem

      @@aidenmurphy2997 The older ones are better. I have a 2019 850 sportsman I bought at an auction. The ball joints are cheaply made. the a arms and cv axles are thinner than the older ones. Its like as the economy sunk..so did their parts. 500X2 is a great choice. stay away from the 800's they go bad after 3000 miles. Oil pump issues. The 850's are awesome but in 2012 they had issues. I'd buy the 500 X2. easy to maintain and repair if need be. Just watch my channel. lol.
