  • There was a run of Sportsman 600's and 700's from 2002 to mid 2004 that were plagued with electrical problems and failure of the ignition system was a matter of when, not if.
    The AC powered ignition was the Achilles' Heel of an otherwise stone reliable ATV. Unfortunately, the price to replace with an upgraded Polaris kit was well over $500 and it was your only option.
    With our new Ignition Fix Kit, we convert your problematic 2002/2003/2004 Sportsman 600/700 AC ignition to a much more reliable DC ignition at less than half of the price of the Polaris upgrade kit.
    Our upgrade kit consists of a new CDI and a remote coil, all required wiring, and installation instructions that allow pretty much anyone to get the job done without professional help. This kit uses the heavier windings of the lighting coil to power the ignition... the problematic section of the stator is no longer used, and the new secondary ignition coil is isolated from the CDI in contrast to the integral coil/CDI that comes from the factory. The result is more reliability, better spark, and easier diagnosis should you have another problem in the future.
    Less money ! Less time ! More bang for your bucks !

    For the do-it-yourself crowd, I would recommend that you use either a heat gun for the shrink wrap or liquid tape. Using an open flame around any motor vehicle or gas source can have catastrophic results! Great product.

      Yep, Harbor Freight has a heatgun for $5.99 after coupon. hfqpdb.com for coupons

    When you pull your plug wire up , attach a bright green string , then you can pull the plug wire right back down in the same spot

    Great video! I added the RM Stator to my 2002 700 Polaris. Everything seems to function good and the machine runs good. The problem is that my "Stator" warning continues to flash on the instrument panel. It also shows upwards of 27 volts. Is this normal? Do I need to do anything additional? Thank you in advance!

    Does this work for carb models and EFI alike? Why doesn't it come with the stator like the OEM kit? Is the Polaris OEM kit for people who have already experienced a failure, while the RMS kit is for people who want to do preventative maintenance?

    • @Rmstatorinc
      @Rmstatorinc  Před 4 lety +1

      No it will only work with carb models, not EFI. It doesn't come with the stator because the most common part of the stator to fail is the source coil. Our DC conversion CDI box bypasses the source coil, so you can keep using your old stator.

      No, with this ignition system there is no need to remove the stator.

      If it uses the Ducati ignition system, it is a 2-wire plug up front, shown in the video. It has a Red and Black wire.

      how would that work? i can't imagine any ignition working without a working stator of any kind. the ducati stator and flywheel are no longer available. this kit is designed to work with those NLA parts. i think this might not be an option to repair your bike. the polaris($) kit comes with everything you need. if this is still over your head you might be better off to find someone who knows what they're doing, that you can trust, to help you.

However, to get it down here is so expensive, BEEN TRYING eBAY OR SO TO SEE WHAT I CAN GET. But before of all that I´d like to try a MOTOBIKE CDI BOX one. Is there any possibilite to adpat a motobike one? What are you recommend? Have you ever try it? PLEASE HELP ME. I aprecciate it. Thanks so much. Excuse my inglish is bit rusty
