    Got an o4 polaris 700 same issue. Put a new carb on and it's running really lean. Pops some and backfires. Not sure what I'm missing

    I saw you said the carb was installed incorrectly. Any vids on how to properly install a carb on a 04 sportsman 700? I think the one I just pulled was incorrect

    • @TitaniummanGarage
      @TitaniummanGarage  Před rokem

      Not on a 700. But one breather tube on the right should be closed. The left open with a tube. The pulse pump gets connected to the engine. So if there is a port on the right to pulse pump it needs to be blocked off.

    I have a 2008 Sportsman 500 ho.
    It ran fine when recently purchased.
    Then it started backfiring and would only stay running at high throttle.
    I discovered the rubber boot between the intake and carb had come loose from the carburetor. I reattached it and it ran fine until the boot came off again due to 😢the motors vibration. Looking into a replacement boot, I noticed a design difference. The current boot was straight in design. A new replacement boot it’s offset. I realize the carb and intake are not in alignment. I am hoping the new style boot corrects this issue.

    • @TitaniummanGarage
      @TitaniummanGarage  Před rokem

      It should. Usually, a backfire will make the carb pop off if the inner seal on the boot it worn. Not sure what you mean that the new boot is offset. good luck.

    Hey new subscriber here, Do those boots Rip because people don't put the metal brace back on? or because there is a metal brace? the engine floats on rubber mounts so it can actually tear the carb which is mounted hard on the frame, which is causing it? What's the best route? It's already got a new intake boot but no brace so I'm thinking it ripped and they thought it was due to the brace and left it off?

    Hey, I'm at a loss with my POS 700. Followed a bunch of your videos for ideas and I got frickin nothing still.
    My intake boot was ripped so now she idles better then ever, but original problem is I can't throttle past 3/8 of throttle I believe it's flooding out. I have replaced all fuel and air components ( fuel pump, lines, filter, carburetor different size jets in main and secondary new intake rubbers air filter - sparkplugs - checked the flywheel out i thought maybe she broke the woodruff key and is off time a little. That wasn't it. Disconnect the choke at full in. Pulled the primary clutch to prevent drag. Checked compression that was good. Hard to tell if I had a good seal on with the leak down test but it did pass both cylinders ( one cylinder at 9 percent one at 13 percent ) I'm looking for some fresh ideas. This is a 02 sportsman 700.

    • @TitaniummanGarage
      @TitaniummanGarage  Před rokem

      Yup. I had the same headache. I cleaned my carb 3 times. Didn't work. Tried a aftermarket carb. Didn't work. jet was too small. I bought a 600 that came with an extra carb so I cleaned it, installed it and it ran perfectly. Check your fuel mixture screw. The only thing I can come up with is the carb needs to be dipped to clean everything out. Sorry I'm not more help.

      Figure that 700 out. I have one with a brand to top end the will not take any throttle. Tried two cheapo carbs and they act the same way. Flywheel magnets are good an intact. Looks like it has an upgraded CDI set up since the old ones were problematic. Customers ATV and at my wits ends
