Liza Jayne I completely agree with you on the maintenance. I do a little at a time, because doing it all at once was horrible on my body the next day. Whew!!

My mother suffers from Chronic Lyme disease and my great aunt has fibromyalgia, i locked my mothers hair almost 2 years ago and my great aunt wears braid in dread lock extensions that i hand make for her. They really help out SO much. They love their hair and how easy it is to do. They love how on days they really hurt their hair is always done. If you suffer from chronic pain i highly recommend getting locs, whether that be braid ins or permanent ones.

I'm a sixty one year old great grandma with double nose piercing, tattoos and such and of course, my dreads! I LOVE my dreads and I too suffer from chronic pain. But I'm very blessed to have a daughter who also has dreads and she works on mine for me. For me, it's all pros. They are not super long so washing them is fairly easy and I work on them at my leisure. As you said, I don't have to worry about them all the time. And the work I do, do on them is part of me time. It makes me feel good and gives me something to do while I watch my Netflix. And the fact that I get such awesome compliments on them every day I go out is so.....great!! Very uplifting to the soul. Anyway, thanks for the vids. They're very informational and I love your voice. Looking forward to the next one!! Peace.

I have chronic pain as well and honestly, my dreadlocks are such a blessing sometimes because I don’t have to worry about fixing my hair, I just throw it in a bun and move along. Now the day I had them done was tough, especially the next day. Ever since then they’ve been such a blessing. You’re in my thoughts ❤️ pain is so hard to deal with everyday. You never really just get used to it. Yes just tough.

I have fibromyalgia and neuropathy in my hands and legs. All of this started getting bad shortly after I opened my own salon. I no longer can work as a hairdresser and that sucks! I just put my hair in dreads Pinsky for the reason that I can no longer do the work to style my hair every day (plus I've always loved them). I feel ya sister, and totally agree with you

I have chronic pain and chronic fatigue. It's so hard every day. I have been wanting dreads for so long but was afraid that I couldn't wear them. But recently found out that they would come to my home and make them for me here.
Your channel is a godsend. You explained everything so wonderfully because I did for a long time feel I was the only one like this. Which Is ridiculous I know but that's how one feels when going through this. Thank you for your kind and knowledgeable comments on this issue.

From one spoonie to another, thank you this! I’ve been wanting locs for 20yrs but never got them. Then I was diagnosed with lupus, and I thought the dream of ever having locs was completely gone...but I’m pretty hopeful now! Thanks.

Thank you so much for sharing this video. Dreadlocks have been something I always wanted but working in a private medical setting prevented me for being able to have them. Then I was diagnosed with RA and fibromyalgia on top of a low spine injury and has left me with chronic pain. I have been researching and growing my hair for 6 months but have been scared to dive in due to the fear of increasing my pain. This video definitely helped as well as when you cut your locs. Now to find a loctician Close enough that I will be able to start and maintain. Good luck my fellow Spoonie!

The bonus tho, the days that you don't have to do anything to your hair 😄

I do something similar when I blow dry my hair. I sit indian style on the floor and flip my head forward while balancing my hair dryer in my legs so hands free. I'm not even sure if this description makes sense (?) It works for me! I usually do 10 minute sessions throughout a few hours. Thanks for this video & loving the red plaid, lipstick, and bandana ❤ red is your color! 🙃

I know i say it all the time but i do honestly love your videos your content is always so bang on!!
I live with chronic pain and also use CBD to cope with it most days
My condition is called ehlers danlos syndrome type3
Im getting my full head done next month over 2 sittings as you know iv already got top of my head done but my undercut will be getting locked up and then next sit in is purely maintenance on them all because my hair is soooo super thick i have a feeling the long locs wont last me for ages haha! But my undercut ones will be shorter so im hoping to vary my lengths to get the most out of them

Your teeth are so white in this video! Beautiful teeth and smile! You look great by the way! Love the outfit. Great video! I live with chronic pain as well. I have cervical spinal stenosis with a herniated disk. I have had this since i was very young. Early twenties. Which is rare . Most people get spinal stenosis when they are older because usually it’s caused from years of wear and tear on the spine. But I was borne with mine. I was born with a very narrow spine. I also suffer from chronic stomach pain. I have been very sick for almost two years now and other than an ulcer the doctor me can’t find what’s wrong with me. I have lost close to 40 pounds just with in the last year. I can barely eat most days. So I completely understand what it’s like to have chronic pain. In more ways than one❤️😌
