- Yes I came up with 100 reasons why you should get dreadlocks! That includes 50 reasons why I think you should get them and 50 hairstyles (which are reason enough)! Last week I did a video called 10 Reasons to NOT Get Dreadlocks and I casually said I could list 100 reasons why you should... Well, I feel like I dared myself to make this one! Even though I think dreadlocks are amazing and think everyone should have them it was a challenge to come up with so many! From sleeping with dreadlocks to styling dreadlocks to washing less to life just being easier! It was not easy to come up with the ways!

I really agree with the part about teaching your child not to care what people think. My 9 year old daughter is so self conscious about everything. Since I got my dreads my daughter is coming out of her shell and embracing that she doesn’t identify with what is normally “beautiful” for a girl. She had hair down her back and realized she wanted a short pixie and a shaved side. She was so worried what others would think. But now she rocks it!!!

What are your thoughts on combining locs? Have you combined any of yours? I had 4 closer to my temple on both sides that were too small for my liking, so I combined them into 2 on both sides. Will they ever look/feel like one loc? Lol. Or should I comb out and do it that way? Those particular ones are only a month old.

I have a question about deadlocks:) I started my dread journey and did the latch hook method however I have recently heard that it’s not a good method? It’s too late for me to go back but can I switch to the crochet method to do maintenance as they grow out ?
I just turned 56, I am a bohemian gal, loving the dreads idea for the boho look. Wanting to get them!!
I already have somewhat long hair so the dread extentions will give me longer hair. I sleep with my hair above my head all the time anyway. Shampoo once a week because my hair gets too dry. Only use conditioner on the ends , otherwise I'm washing my hair every other day cuz it get oily.

52 and sick and tired of my fine hair!!! Been dread video and researching for a couple of weeks now and going to jump into soon. Not sure I could leave my bangs out because they suck. I had been leaning towards wool though because I thought it would be lighter weight for my arthritic neck...now I'm confused but I've actually probably overwhelmed myself by watching too many videos, techniques, and styles!!...is wool lighter weight?

I think the hardest thing I had to learn was how your own hair wants to be dreaded -- the lay of the skull and the front area --- if that makes sense -- we all have different hair swirl patterns -- that would be an interesting topic
Absolutely!!! You really have to think about where it wants to go and what it wants to do!!
@@LizaLocs yeah I did all the u tube how to's and then it hits you what works for one does not always work for others -- each skull is made different ha I have a double crown so its not straight forward and can be a lot of pain if done one hair off ha
