      This was so helpful- happy to have found this and your channel! I’m about 3 weeks in with my large partial and my loose roots are making me nervous. The itch was SO BAD I had to wash the first week (my loc artist recommended if I need to- do it). Now my roots are loose and have just been asking myself “how much frizz and looseness is too much” 😂 I just need to chill I guess!

    Omg, thank you so much for this info! I'm hoping to get mine done in two weeks. I'm crocheting my own extensions but I can't do what needs to be done to my own hair to get things going. I've been watching you and Liz for about two months in preparation and would have gotten them down before now but finding a loctician in my area has been difficult. So I'm looking forward to getting them done but am so glad to hear everything you shared here so I am mentally prepared for what's to come.

    I feel like I’m going through the ringer, I gave myself locks a few days ago but I took pretty thick sections because I was worried about not having enough hair as a foundation for each lock, but now the back of my head looks bald and I have to go in and separate most of them RAAHHH

    A friend helped me put mine in in the back of my head but i didn't find out till afterwards she had carple tunnel (i feel bad i even asked for her help!) Well the ones in the back that she did (twist n rip) all fell out but the ones i made are still in there. Now I'm redoing my back ones and having to brush out the back remnants and I'm a little worried about washing now (it hasn't even been 7 days and i washed about 4 days after they got put in). OI ! well i hope the back goes better this time and everything works out

    Hi Liza. New subscriber here I have always wanted dreadlocks… my husband encouraged me to do it. He loved the idea. I kept putting it off…. My husband passed away 3 months ago. Our son is getting married in April I would like my hair to be locked. It’s sort of my, I did it honey…. Thank you for your videos. I’m in central west Florida. Looking for someone to help me. I’m white and turned 66 last week.

    I see alot of videos of people who remove their dreads after so many years and it kinda makes me sad ..I grow to admire everyone's beautiful locs and feel their journey and then they are get rid of them for various reasons after all that patience and enduring throug the whole process. 😥Do you think you will ever go back to regular hair ? Brushable hair is so boring.

    Suggestions for dreadlocks that keep falling out? My husband had his for almost 2 months and we have to relock his hair at least once a week. He uses the same products and maintenance as I do but his keeps falling out

    • @ladybones9233
      @ladybones9233 Před 3 lety

      How are you locking them?
      Crochet hook?
      Palm rolling?
      Free form?
      Twist & rip?
      Also STOP using products in your dreads... all that product WILL build up in your hair over time.
      If you are using oils (lubricant for your hair) it can act like a conditioner and literally detangle your dreads

    • @aprilm6475
      @aprilm6475 Před 3 lety

      Well, we were twist & tipping them and the crocheting them and palm rolling. The only products I’m referring to is like shampoo and salt spray.
      Since this comment my husband decided to comb his out. He lost patience.
      I still have mine but they’re incredibly itchy no matter what I do.
      I’m almost over it as well if I can’t find a solution.

    • @ladybones9233
      @ladybones9233 Před 3 lety

      @@aprilm6475 dreads are itchy for a long while for most ppl...
      How often are yall washing your hair? I noticed that when I (or quite a few others) washed often their dreads were a lot more willing to come undone AND they were helping them come undone by washing them often. So many of our shampoos have protective coats in them which surrounds every hair, hints....lubricating the hair.

    • @aprilm6475
      @aprilm6475 Před 3 lety

      Well since my husband brushed his out the issue of the dreads falling out isn’t a problem anymore because mine don’t fall out.
      I wash my hair twice a week and he washes his once.
      I spray tea tree oil and peppermint oil in my scalp when the itching is unbearable but it’s a temporary fix. I’ve had mine for almost 3 months... I hope I get relief soon

    • @ladybones9233
      @ladybones9233 Před 3 lety

      @@aprilm6475 stick it out and you'll be so happy you did! Im almost at a year and I use ZERO product other than shampoo when washing. The problem with product is your scalp becomes reliant on those products.. it gets used to the oils and stops making the necessary oils needed for a healthy scalp. Also washing too often pulls your natural oils out of your scalp too.
