From my novice view, I only learned 50% of the way a Simplex Node works. Please explain the internet aspect. I listen to GMRS live and guys are constantly testing their SN's. I assumed these connected to the internet but I don't understand how.

This is not a video I would share to advertise your network. You can make your point without using expletives and show a little more professionalism unless you think GMRS and operate your network as a FM version of CB radio.

Okay if I get a simplex repeater and I live in Oxford Pennsylvania and I have to hook up to the Internet how far can I talk to somebody else on the radio can I talk to California or Iowa or New York you tell me

You can talk to everyone on the system where ever they may be located.

What guarantee is there the network will exist in the future? Without the network it's useless.
Is there a way to buy the hardware but run a program on my own laptop for the network?

All I can say is we have been running for 4 years now and don't plan on stopping any time soon. We may stop growing because of the raspberry pi shortages or the RBSN Builders get busy with life. But the network doesn't take anything to run you don't have to worry about it. There is a way to host your own server but because you had to ask that question I am going to say your not going to know how to figure out how to set it up and we don't support it.
Yes it's a gamble but life is a gamble.

It is no different then buying a $300+ mobile radio to try and hit some repeater that you have a 50/50 chance of making it.
