Purchasing IDS 2.0 Complete system in January because of Pipe Doctor. My HVAC guy said I could replace both my current units with 1 Bosch and take care of the whole house with a single 5 ton instead of the 2 I have now.

Mikey I just had Bosch at my shop where I’m install and production manager and the guys were great. I had 2 junior installers that were having trouble with the dual fuel hydro back up and they were a huge help.. They were just back with the gas furnace. I’m totally shocked all made by Midea

I use the Honeywell 3000 with outdoor sensor whenever I do Bosch unit I recently just put it in a Eco e AC heat pump system very similar to the Bosch systems the Eco e have an app that you can download that will show you your pressures either way both systems are very nice especially the Bosch

You don’t want to keep that unit above the concrete a little bit so you don’t get any rust or moisture on the bottom of the cabinet,Or even just some vibration pads so you don’t get any vibration vibration noise

Thanks for toning down the hammer drill noise for us the viewer … don’t know how you guys survived that echo chamber.. I have a set of Ryobi headphones that take a battery… they cut the hammer drill noise but let me hear a person speaking… they are a worthy investment for the high end crew … Maybe Saint Mike makes an appearance ..all I could imagine while watching your clips of the hole drilling was the little old lady down the street was probably wondering what her hearing aids were picking up …thanks for the videos

I have a carrier heat pump with a propane furnace with an optimizer to control efficiency . The outdoor temp is set for 30 degrees.

Great install, looks great. Only thing I don’t like is the solder when it should be brazed lineset. I don’t know what American standards are but we don’t do that here. That said, I can see the skill you have in these trades and you sir are a fantastic tradesmen. I have four Redseal journeyman trade tickets, Refrig, residential gas, industrial gas, and plumbing, so I can see the little details, and recognize the little skills a good tradesman has, you have them! 👍🏻
You really don't need to braise the line sets only thing you need to really worry about braising are refrigeration lines or if your compressor burns out in your doing the compressor change other ways to stay clean and silver bright works just fine

Dual Fuels are rare around here. There are some inverter heat pumps that don’t even need heat strips.

why not stage the furnace directly with the ecobee, better than with the board's delay. (possibly the fan too to get better modulation y1 and y2) Can't get more conductors easily?

Is the chimney lined / sized appropriately for the water heater left behind or is that not code for NY? other than that clean install but you only need 2 guys for that install.

Is it legal/code to allow for an orphaned gas water heater when upgrading the furnace? I had draft issues with mine after installing my new Trane furnace. I had to install a new Bradford White water heater with forced draft fan and then cap off the chimney as it’s no longer being used/needed.
You mean because the chimney has a larger diameter than needed? In general, no. That's pretty much how they run all summer without heating.

Don’t know if it’s related to ambient temperature or not, but it definitely struggled after the high efficiency furnace was installed and removed from the B vent…I wasn’t that concerned about replacing the water heater at the time because it was around 11 years old. I was asked by the installer if I wanted it replaced at the same time as the furnace but I said no. I probably could have got a better package deal
@@chuckquinn8026 it is technically possible that your cold chimney stack sucks out all the avaliable heat from the exhaust flue of the water heater. I get what your saying. It could be possible to also reverse the flow if you don't have enough make up air. That would be bad. Do you have a b vent or just like clay liner?(sometimes it's just b vent into the stack, nothing else inside)
@@rickw4160 just straight B vent. It’s plugged off in the basement and I ripped it out of my garage roof. Since I already had a hole in the roof, I enlarged it and installed a powered attic exhaust fan that operates on temperature and humidity in its place

Great video man! I have been looking at the Bosch units myself and finding that Bosch does not provide a lot of useful info on their web site. Can you please tell me what the main difference is between the 17.5 and 19 SEER 5 Ton setups besides the efficiency? Is it worth paying the extra and getting the 19 SEER? Appreciate your time!

Squirt some oil down the back side of the blade of the Milwaukee until it gets inside. This style tends to bind up if too dry.

I have a bypass humidifier controlled by my Nest with NO manualler humidistat controller installed. Why do you feel it is necessary to have both controlling this humidifier?

Is it OK to use solder instead of silver solder brazing the dryer joints? About what psi is the equalized High and Low pressure that the dryer joints will see? New AC refrigerant operates at higher preasures.

Also how did you get that transition piece just measured it out before install and had the fab shop make it for you? My boss has us make the transitions and such

Wiring y1 is low stage y2 is high stage, the Bosch runs on the temp of the lines to control the inverter.But the Carrier only knows the speeds of the toggle switchs if no infinity control.

Dual fuel is a great system try the HONEYWELL IAQ THERMOSTAT SET UP Just wondering Does your crew air seal all the duct work and sleeve the line sets going through the blocks AND does the Bosch condenser HAVE A FILTER DRYER WITH IN THE UNIT

Why have the gas furnasce come on at 40 degrees or less when the heat pump is fairly efficient probably down to at least 30 degrees (maybe less?)?
