The issue lives on in newer cars. I have a 2010 Infiniti garage kept (not in Florida, but Georgia) and take it out for a ride and you can watch the shiny sticky melting areas spread across the dash. I have already filed complaints as others have with nhtsa, but basically owners have to deal with this defect themselves. There are a bunch of other complaints as well about the same issue but no recall. All the class actions and recalls were for the the earlier models but the newer models have the problem too. Please start investigating this again.
I have a 2010 Toyota Camry with a gooey dashboard. I live in Louisiana, but I've never seen anything like this before. Regardless of the heat, the dash shouldn't be melting into a sticky, gooey mess.

Love my 2007 Camry XLE but this is probably the one thing is bad. When it gets hot, the driver side of the dash gets all sticky. Luckily it hasn't cracked yet and I haven't gotten any glare issues. Really sucks but I can live with it. I hate dash covers but might consider it. Toyota should have done the right thing and did legit recalls not saying they would and delay them for years so it would but out of their extended warranty pretending to do something.

Yes, live in Tennessee and my 2007 Camry dash melts to. I have learned not to touch it when it's hot because it will burn and stick to your skin and clothing.
Waw, i didnt know that this is nationwide problem until i faces the same problem with my camry 2007 which i bought from Australia. I m now in Malaysia, i couldn’t find a replacement in my country. It is not only sticky but it starts cracking everywhere especially around the metres right infront the driver’s seat. I dont know what to do now. Other than that the car is so good and i love it.

I have a 1999 and a 2001 VW Beetle. Both cars have sticky dash syndrome. In fact, all of the plastic components are either dry rotted or melting. My door panels have melted and the vinyl has shrank, exposing the glue used to laminate the vinyl to the door panel. Even the plastic in the tail lights are dry rotted. The headliner material has shrank and is coming loose and sagging. The list of problems grow as the degradation shows. I love the shape of the Beetle but it is horribly made from chassis to interior.

My 2010 mazda 3 dashboard does this. There's a recall but I've never got it fixed yet. I had a 1994 Chrysler Concorde and a 2000 dodge Dakota that sat out in the sun for years and their dashboarda never melted or even cracked.

Heat and humidity. The plastic is hydrophilic, humidity changes it's chemical properties over time and lowers it's melting temperature. Add heat and the plastic melts and never cures. However, places with extreme seasons with swinging humidity can cause it to re-cure when hot and dry, but not the same. It will turn crispy and brittle.

This is happening to my father's 2009 Toyota Camry as well. I had a mobile detailing service come by to do some work on our other cars so I asked him to have a look at the Camry's dash. He said there's nothing he can do, asked if I got it like that from the dealer because he's been seeing more of this issue lately. I really hope there’s something that the government will do about this melting problem. I currently own an Infiniti 2005 fx35 and I have bubbles all over my dashboard and it is really hard to see with all the glare.. I contacted Infiniti about it and they told me that there was only a 10 year warranty and my car was just a few months over that timeline, they would not back up their product that is obviously defective from factory. I love my car over all it looks and runs great. I really take care of it but it is embarrassing when someone gets in my car and jokes about my car having some kind of a desease or even chickenpox... if there’s any petition for me to sign or even make a video or show pictures I’m all in. July 2,2018 i called corporate regarding the sticky dash on my 2010 camry its still under warranty they extended until august 2019,made a claim and im getting a new dashboard for no cost

I have a 2012 Nissan Altima with a melting dashboard. Nissan won't stand behind it. There was a class action suit for 2008-2009 models. You would think they'd get it right before 2012 model! I'm not happy to say the least!

2012 Altima, I bought it new and noticed it becoming sticky after the first year. I should have started fighting then but I didn't. Now it's a sticky gooey mess with cracks everywhere not to mention the hair & "stuff" stuck to it. I tried using a sun shade but it kept sticking to the dash; eventually started ripping at the seams leaving a fabric substance behind. NOT GOOD .... AND don't get me started on the awful shiny glare on my windshield ... I'm in central Florida
