Lmao oh lawrd
Hello news people. That lady's car is a Lexus IS 300 not a IS 250.
That lady's car is mint, just slap a 2001 dash .
Thank you guys,, I have send this video to my local Toyota dealer and they have replaced my sticky dashboard for free
how did you send it email? lol no seriously i have a from with my lexus rx 350 09 ):
@@jhb9254 07 es350, would like to know as well
What year and model is your car?
@@forexsanjose6090 2 years ago when I took my issue to the local Toyota dealer to get the dash fixed, they told me the previous owner bought the car in May of 2008 so even though it was a 2009 Camry LE, the 10 year extended warranty Toyota claimed to offer its customers was not honored as I went to them in October of 2018 after buying the car which had been garage kept so didn't notice the stickiness of the dash when I bought the car in July 2018 till I had it a couple of months. (I thought I had till 2019 to get them to fix it but they refused.)
same issue with my 2009 subaru outback
If she would have put a sun visor she wouldn't have this problem and this dosent mean the car is unreliable my 2004 is 300 is still driving in 2018.
Solara model year are covered I can’t see
but we still have the radio
My last car had that problem those dashes are made with a petroleum base and when it breaks down that's the sticky oil. with Goo gone and a lot of rubbing it can be removed
Are they still fixing them? Cuz mine is awful not only the dash but the door's also.
That isn’t an IS250. That’s an IS300
So much for Lexus quality.
I have a 2011 Camry does this apply?
I bought my is300 used in 2009, Lexus sent me a check of $29 for a class action law suit in 2013, but it didn't say what it was for. I think it might be for this.
"unintended acceleration issue" for cars with "Drive by wire" systems.
My 2005 IS300 has the sticky/melting dash. Only 23,000 miles. Just finished calling Lexus 11/30/17. They said sorry your car isn't listed in recall. I requested to push case further to the next level. I was told don't expect anything to change. It is clear Lexus/ Toyota are trying to slip away from repairing the defective vehicles. I have lost all confidence in Toyota/ Lexus. Also in the video(yes it is a IS300) you see a dash cover that someone said was glued down, no it isn't. That is the surface of the dashboard stuck to the cover
I'm sorry but theres not many companies that will fix your 12 year old car for free
12 years old? I had an old 1963 Buick Special a few year ago. The plastic components of that old car never melted. Clearly lexus or its supplier used the wrong plastic material in their manufacturing process. Lexus should have but never caught this manufacturing quality issue. Now the consumers are paying AGAIN for their mistakes.
The side for air bag between door window and the front driver glass is open too they wouldnt fix it either.
Even my husbands toyota Camry 2007 its sticky and toyota wouldnt do a recall.
Go fight for that.
I got some carbon fiber vinyl. Covered the sticky parts of my dash, just the front above the glovebox and the sides of the console were sticky. Easy to do, looks great.
Please share a link as to what it is yo used!
I have 2005, had recalled dash board that I dint know. But I got it repaired, now I am happy driving Lex like a new car!
Esther Choe how much u paid for it
Elgar Banegas it was recalled, pay nothing!
I just found out about this issue two weeks ago..in 2020. I bought my GX470 new in 2004 and have had all service done by the Lexus dealer I bought the vehicle from. I watched a video about "common issues with the GX470 two weeks ago, and the cracking dash and the extended warranty were front and center. After I saw that, I checked my dash. There is no stickiness, but there is a crack about two feet along on the edge of the brim over the gauge cluster. I've been in contact with Lexus over the issue. I was never notified about any of this by Lexus corporate or my dealer. Lexus corporate said to contact my dealers service department first, which I did. The service manager took pictures and reviewed my 16 year long service history with that dealer..again all of the service and maintenance on my GX has been performed at that dealer. The dealer said they would be happy to do the work of replacing the dash, but they just need the OK from Lexus Corporate. I talked to the person working on my case at Lexus and he should be getting back to me with a decision this week. My GX has very low mileage, I put on less than 6,000 miles per year, and the vehicle is always garaged. It still looks and runs like new, except for that cracked dashboard. I can understand normal wear and tear, every car has that. My dashboard cracking where it did is not normal wear and tear.
SHE SAID IS250 BOOOOOO
I have a 2007 Toyota Camry & after calling them off & on for years & getting Nowhere does Anyone have suggestions for getting it fixed?
lol I have an 01' no sticky dash here
donn yaxarhpgnab the problem started in 2002 and continued till the end of is300 production in the us. Many 2002+ owners replaced their dash with a 2001 dash
So you have an automatic lol
Owned a 05 and 02 . Didn’t had the problem in neither and I live in Arizona
Thank you for your story. For some reason this is one of the "Best kept secrets" .. It's been a nightmare for our family. Not only is this issue so dangerous but the delay is just adding miles to our car and no one will buy it or you get much less for a trade in. Shame on Lexus/Toyota for the way they are handling this issue. They should Buy these cars at the KBB value, fix them when the "parts finally come in" then resell them since they think this is not a big deal.
Well said! Not only are they sticky and melting but they easily get gouged and wind up with dents! Toyota will lose a lot of customers from this lousy customer service!!
This is awful. Is the cause heat from the engine or exterior factors such as atmospheric heat and humidity interacting with cleaning product chemicals?
On the 2002-2005 lexus is300 its a common problem but its easy to fix. The sticky residue can be removed in like 20 minutes with a scotch brite and this product called goo gone. Or buying a new dash they can be replaced in about an hour
IS300's are quick? LOL no.
I ended up putting a single turbo in mine, then did it become quick(er).
As for what everyone else said, yes, she said IS250. Fail.
Please someone help! Were did everyone go that got them replaced I'm in la, Ventura area? I bought my car used and looked up vin to see it had the parts ordered for the sticky dash and even called the dealership that ordered them for my car for previous owner and they lied and said I wasn't original owner and couldn't do anything for me and dicked me around the last owner even ordered them 1 an a half years ago from this dealership that's trying to get out of repairs. My ls460 is a 2007 it lands in line with the extended warranty. Were are the good lexus dealerships. Heard so many story's of the lexus dealerships offering it and being super helpful with it this dealership wants nothing to do with it wtf?
2005 lexus for $35,000???? wtf
1. its a is300
2. she had some after market cover on oem dash, which was probably glued on.
3. probably did not maintain or keep car clean since the day of purchase.
4. you live in a relatively hot and humid climate.. use a sun shade for god sakes.
the dashboard problem is real and only with the stock dashboard
2001 year models are fine. 2002+ received a different color and coatings of the dashboard, which you can scoop up with a putty knife, when its really bad. Thats probably a reason for the cover she is using.
You are that dumb? The DASH COVER is NOT glued. That is the oils of the plastic that stick to the dashboard cover.
That's why its called sticky dashboad GENIUS!!
Its ethier an is200 or is200 the is250 didn't come till 2006 smh
Not sure if Toyota-Lexus made the dashboard themselves or bought from a supplier, but if it a supplier, they're going to cut ties because this.
They make a beautiful product like your hairdo?
yeaaa thats not an is250 thats an is300 the reason its not covered? different generation
mrkouki180sx people are stupid just leave it at that
Lexus Toyota is replacing melting dash boards for free but not for labor....Labor is 3-4 hours to replace for $1800.00 plus tax
Hung Pham they ain't suppose to charge you anything
And with all the people who boast about Lexus being the most reliable anything. Comedy how they cannot even get interior plastics right.
get a dashmat
IS300 lol
Just stop buying toyota's product. That would teach them some lessons.
Lmao fake news af
Welcome to my world and great disappointment with Lexus quality involving a 2005 330 Lexus ashboard, altmost 2 years ago the sent the famous letter for the dashboard replacement , after taking to the dealer for inspecton last year in July I'm sill not getting not even a response from Lexus and the dealer only tells me that, yes they are aware and to just wait, they say they are only receiving one or two a month.DONT BELIEVE LEXUS PROMISES AND KEEP ON CALLING THEM.
Lexus a luxury car lmao
Cheap toyota interior with a slow engine
lmao the is300's never had this issue hahaha
The hell it didn't! Depended heavily on the climate and how people did or didn't take care of them though. (Owned 4 is300's ;), race two, one had a sticky issue.)
mine does right now. it's had the issue for several months. i just began to look into it and all of this is uncovered... imagine my surprise.
... and I thought Toyota and Lexus were supposed to be "reliable" XD
reliable lie
BMWdayWhatyouwant they are reliable.
Still driving my 2005 Lexus in 2018 and runs like a charm. 👌
I’d rather have a melting/cracking dashboard than a transmission failure or electrical malfunction 😭😭
