- Teaching yoga online from home in a small space? Here's a tech overview of my online yoga set-up and a comparison of two Logitech webcams. Logitech C920 vs. Logitech BRIO. If you use Zoom with a laptop, you may want to upgrade your camera to an external webcam. Both the Logitech C920 ($80) and the Logitech BRIO ($190) are great choices. I also show how to use a webcam settings app to adjust the settings of your webcam. Oh, and for sure get the Rode Wireless Go as your wireless microphone.

Really nice to know I'm not the only one who has a super small flat and small space to teach. Living in an expensive part of Germany means it's not easy to have enough space to setup a nice home studio and teach from there.

Note that with the Brio you can also adjust the angle. From standard setting 78° to a smaller 65° or a wider 90° angle. This is a feature that is only adjustable with a software program such as Logitech Capture which you can download for free from their website.
This is what I like the most at that camera! So easy to adjust the angle
I listed the software in the description. I haven't played with it yet, but I have heard this from a few people. :)

Thanks to you I start to understand better how to use my Røde , the only problem now I had fix the cables to makr it connect is noe when I teach the class with the movemrnt it is cutting all the time, my voice is cut constanly,

How are you recording video and audio with QuickTime? I ask because the Zoom video quality is horrible and now it announces you are recording so students are less incline to turn on their video even though I am not recording the gallery view. I would really appreciate this insight.
Is there a way to increase height range with the brio , I get plenty of width but to get my feet and hands when stretched overhead in view I would need to be a little further away and I can't get closer to the wall for some moves 🙈

Ashley! thank you for all of your expert advise! I have the C920 and the rode wireless set up as you do here.. and they both come up great. However.. I can't seem to figure out how to get the webcam to record as mirror image when not on Zoom. Any ideas? Thank you,,,!
You can likely accomplish this by using a webcam settings app or the Logitech app (should be free). Also note that the mirror image in Zoom is only what you see while recording - It doesn’t record the mirror version, and participants are not seeing the mirror image either.
I am moving to a very small space and my logitech C920 can not capture the whole body when I stand up. Is there anything I can do to have a wider angle with this webcam without having to buy a new one?

No. Is it Zoom? Sometimes this is more of a wifi issue than a C920 issue. Download the logitech software or a webcam setting app to play with the auto focus if that's the problem.
Thanks again and great timing! We are in a small apartment In the Netherlands here with a 2 year old as well, funn :-) but kinda intense ! You are making the videos I need right now. I hope to order a webcam today or tomorrow so here my last questions for you.. Logitech C920 went out of focus at 3min19sec and at 3min22sec. I didn't see that happening with Brio. Seems the autofocus is better. That's something important or us to know as yoga teachers since we move around a bit. Are you saying that turning autofocus off means you stay in focus better? Seems your autofocus is not turned off on the C920 because we see it adjusting. How about the Brio?
Brio also does lose the auto focus. I don’t know if it has something to do with computer. I noticed I mainly have blurry moments at the beginning when I come on the mat. Then is usually good. If I turn off the auto focus, then is not very good.
Thanks Ashley! How would you suggest playing music! I teach dance. Would I play from the computer or have it near me when I'm teaching. What do you recommend?
Are you playing music for a live class WITH Zoom, or just on Zoom? You can share your computer's music by "share screen" but chose "advanced" and then "computer sound only" so it picks up your computer sound and you on video, along with your voice. You'll have to adjust some of the settings and play with it, but that is the current way that I know. The second way, is to get a microphone with two mic pieces and set one up by the music. I love your videos 🤗 . I’ve been using the rode wireless go to teach and it’s great for recording - but when I teach on zoom it sometimes gives me a robot voice after 45 mins 😬 does anyone have any idea why that might be? Apart from that it’s perfect and I love it 🥰
I have not heard of this before. I'm sorry I can't be of much help here. My rode mic has been great going on a full year.

Rode Wireless Go 2 could be conected only with USB
This was great! My only issue is i cannot open QuickTime Player to record. I can only open it when I click to play a vid. I'm looking it up now. No luck!!! Any pointers?
I’m just seeing this. When you open Quicktime, nothing will show up. You have to then click “File” in the top bar and then “New Movie Recording.”

In the last week or so my QuickTime stops recording at 10:56 minutes. I too use the Logitech BRIO and it's been making life WAY too difficult in recording content. I just saw online that others are reporting the same issue after a Mac update. I can't say I updated my laptop (I got it October) recently, so I wanted to see what you've done to fix the problem if you've experienced it.
I have not had this problem, but I have now heard this at least 3 times. My mac is a 2015 and I stopped upgrading to the latest operating systems. I fear it will slow things down. I have no issues with recording 30+ minutes every day. Still looking for solutions for others who ask me this. I currently do not know.
