Can’t find the window adapters on the site yet, so looking forward to those! I need to do this job too, just one of many! Might be worth mentioning that excessive steering column movement is an MOT and I’ve failed one of my mk2s in the past for this. So not just for driving, but may be needed to pass too! Thanks for the video and making parts keeping us all on the road!
Hi Micheal, yes you made a very good point about MOT failure👍🏼 I will pin this comment to the top! I've listed the electic window mounts this morning, due to your top comment, message me on the site and I'll post these out to you for free👍🏼
This is a job I need to do on multiple MK2s. Some of them have a lot of play and rattle. Very nice job on the 3D printed parts, excellent how-to video.
Thanks for uploading this, really helpful. So in terms of a parts list to do this refurb, I need: 1. Ignition housing w/ bearing built in 2. Lower column bearing 3. Lower bush (your 3D printed item) Is there anything else i'm missing? Thanks

another great video has anyone retrofitted electric window switches into the door handle?
Thank you👍🏼, like on the Passat B3 or the Corrado, I have seen it before, mainly to have the 'one touch' window opening and closing.

@@RestoDesignsnando Just received it, thanks for getting it send over so quickly!!
where can i find that bearing? i have the ignition key with top bearing, but that other one i can't find.
also that lower u joint for the steering column, does that go bad too?
Yes that can wear and have free play when turning the steering wheel, this is about up and down, and side to side free play in the column.
The part number is 171 419 517 B AutoDoc
@@RestoDesignsnando yeah that looks like its it. ill have to replace everything
Is this the same for the mk3?
I haven't done it on my MK3 yet but I do believe the columns are almost identical. They do share most if not all of the same parts.
Like Davidpaker says, the columns are almost identical on the mk3
