How is that normal circlips holding on instead of the original clip? I've got my gearbox on the stand, awaiting the gaskets for this exact job, and i already removed the flanges. The clips that hold the flanges were a pain to get out, and i got a set of normal circlips to replace them. I'm just wondering if they're gonna be sturdy enough.

Hi. The car has since done less than 50kms. It has been parked off as it has hail damage. I cannot answer your question with certainty but it seems like it will hold.

@BenDeSwert666 .remember that your cv shafts also help to hold everything in place once all is bolted. There is play, however minimal, unless your chassis is
      Stretching.

Dooes those seals differ in sizes? Or golf mk1 mk2 mk3 are same same sizes?

Hi buddy. I'm not sure. I would suggest going to the spares shop with the gearbox code.

@builtmk1795 cos i swaped the flanges..took small ones from my old gearbox current gearbox were big..then i bought seals and installed them if was fine...i had tk take out box again cos of pushrod seal was leaking..so i think we damaged it the time were installing the box...so thats the second seal but its still leaking

That's not good. The only thing that I can suggest I'd that you clean up both surfaces properly before installation the seal. Use a fine grit sandpaper as well to make sure that there no issue on the surfaces. I can't think of any other possible reasons buddy.
