Sho bra im busy with my mk2 jetta project and I've used my mk1 golf mp9 engine and gearbox now im getting challenges with gears (wont go into reverse and 5th gear) as the jetta was a 4 speed and the golf is a 5 speed... With that been said i want to know if its advisable to change the whole gear shifter and rods and links to the jetta to be able to access all gears
You need to change the 2 bushes at the bottom of the lever itself as well as the big bush on the shaft. I think I show that in the video explain to set the linkages

Howsit. From my knowledge, you should be able to add on the extra link for the 5fth gear to your existing setup.
how did you get your gear so stiff.....i changed the linkage bushings to mine today but it still has a very wobbly gear please help

You gotta put a short shift kit into it.
Hi. I will do that sometime in the future. Its quite straight forward
