- The NEW Everton manager Sean Dyche returns to High Performance.
Is he ready to manage again? We find out đ„
Hereâs what you can expect đ
Itâs been almost three years since Jake and Damian first sat down with Sean Dyche.
A lot has changed since that initial conversation.
Sean left Burney after a decade of managing the team and he is now expected to be appointed the new Everton manager.
In this episode, Sean seeks to challenge the myths told about him.
They delve deep into his managing style, how he individually assesses players and changes training accordingly, to give them the best chance of being successful.
They discuss how to focus on the opinions that matter, connecting with players as individuals and focusing on âpositive realitiesâ.
We ask Sean if heâs ready manage again? And what will he do differently?
Let us know what you think in the comments đ„

Massive Burnley fan. Will never forget this man. Named a pub after him for a reason. Handled the Austin situation after we lost Eddie Howe and bought in a new system that honestly didnât look like it would work back in 2012 and here we are. A club that had nothing but a pot to piss in is now a wealthy established football club. Thank you Sean from the bottom of my heart. Best of luck at Goodison legend.
But alot of fans wanted him out
@@matthewdoyle3877 I donât know anyone who did mate.
@@papashango8577 I'm from Burnley and know plenty who thought it was time for him to go. It was tough for them to admit it because of what he did for them, but they knew it was time.
It happens to almost everyone, look at Clough and Wenger. But Ferguson is the exception in modern times.
@@81chipper89 Yeah that was pretty much what i found out as well. My time as a football fan had been synonymous with Dyche at Burnley so i was gutted when he went, but my Dad wasn't even remotely concerned. He thought it was time. I don't think you'd find a single Burnley fan who'd disparage what Dyche has done for the Club and the Town but plenty of us were bored of the football, of getting battered week in week out. Was just the time to part ways.
@@hovis1st yeah, it was obviously time to go and refresh but it's still difficult for some fans to admit when they love the manager or player so much. Your Dad is from a different generation, he's used to managers coming and going at Turf Moor.
10 months on this man is showing incredible leaderships skills, is now showing in the team. great stuff.
Feel positive about Seanâs appointment with us. His attitude gives reassurance
Youâre going down. No manager can save those players from the most fickle and horrible fans in the league
Your going to get a proper manager you will stay up
@@bobsmith3291 I can tell you donât go to games
@@TonyHibbo I do, just not to shitty Everton ones. Have fun chasing your players and board out of every home game though no wonder they donât wanna play for you

Sean could be your mate, a colleague at the next desk, or anything normal. And this guy is a multimillionaire and PL Manager! A great guy, knows himself and we need more English managers in the PL.
Absolutely! A rare breed of manager these days.
Dyche was the manager I wanted for Everton prior to Lamps. No disrespect to Lamps, felt sorry for him in the end, but Dyche is exactly what Everton has needed for a few years.
Comes across really well. Think he might be seriously underrated. Everton could have got a gem here who is the right fit for the club and what is needed now.
He is a good manager, it's amazing how he turns clubs around, like a new age alladyche
I like the fact that his leadership and mentorship rubs off on people. This speaks highly about him.
You can only admire and respect Sean Dyche's honesty and integrity.
Brilliant interview as ever. Great to see how no-nonsense and down to earth he is, thereâs not many of those characters left in football management now.
Very true. Sadly most managerial appointments in the Premier League these days seem to be Junkers

Arsenal fan here, scared for Saturday strangely. Dyche is a mad man
I donât know what he fed Everton players, but this has been toughest game for Arteta team all season

A very good interview with our new manager. Wishing Sean Dyche and his team tremendous successful. Up The Toffees!
Hope he does well at Everton
I like Sean Dyche a lot, you know where you are with him and I'm guessing he's like this with his players, he's a man of true grit and integrity and thats a fantastic character trait to have in the industry. His football might not be pretty, it's not super technical like my club but what he does, he does it well...... and he proved that last Saturday when they beat us 1-0.
I hope Everton buy into him and support him as I reckon he'll keep them up. Good luck Sean and good luck Everton.
Superb entertainment. You guys dont give the interviewees an easy time and make them really think about their answers. Sean comes across so well, and as an Evertonian, it gives me confidence he will be good for us. Hopefully this doesnât come back to bite me in 6 months!
Hes had a good start!
â@Graham great job. Hes you up đ
Wanted Sean at West Ham, Everton will do well under this guy.
Everton fan here, canât wait for him to get started.

Well you lot aren't beating Arsenal this weekend.

26mins - on Carlo Ancelotti when at EFC ... This was great watch, thanks. Excited to see what he can do.
So excited to see what he can do at Everton! Iâm sure heâll keep them up but will he be able to start a real project there even with the crap ownership. Great interview!
Brilliant interview , what an honest and reflective man. All managers and coaches are based on results as simple as that but the real impact they have on their players clubs should never be underestimated đ
This is my first experience with this podcast - fascinating. What really struck me, aside from the contents of the interview, is the masterful 'coming up' edit. Great stitching of clips to twist the meanings and get engagement.
Glad you enjoyed it! Jump in to the others! loads more football managers in the archive if thats what you like.
Class yet again!!! Keep the content coming!
Love hearing Sean talk, and a lot of what he says is relevant to real life. Also this channel is great and have subscribed đȘđ»
Really love these, always asking the questions fans want the answers to
So true.. and they let him speak. Most hosts can't get past there own ego
Loved the line about Carlo
Fantastic man god bless you sir from a LFC fan
Very interesting to get to know the real Sean Dyche away from Football. First interview actually seeing whats behind the person and what is he like as a human being rather than football manager on telly. Wish him the best at Everton and hope he can turn that shinking ship up.
Thank you lads for this and all other podcast you do. Being a fan of Premier league for decades ,you can imagine how thrilled I am about all of this. Big cheers from Zagreb,Croatia! YNWA
I love the fact you asked for feedback. Nobody else does. Shows you that youâre walking the walk. đ
What a lovely interview. Such a nice person Sean Dyche đȘ
I'm not Everton fan but I love Sean Dyce đhopefully one day he would coach my favourite club
I subscribed to this channel when it was cruelly underrated, when they premiered Van Persi's interview with 5 or 20 views at max. Nice to see this great channel grow like this.
Always thought of Sean Dyche as being a top manager. Would really like to see him as my clubs manager one day
He gets people to buy into his way of managing and gets players to put their body on the line for the club every game. Fan's of any club will respect players who play for the badge and are willing to do what it takes to help the club survive or push on. He sums up modern footy so well with the terms like ' philosophy ' and ' entertaining ' because these days it's more about how it looks and playing the right way etc but like he said " It's only entertaining when you're winning "
really enjoyed this. i can't wait to see the boss get our players into shape
I just hope the players don't let him down, and us.
As an Arsenal fan, Iâm nervous Everton have appointed him and his first game is against us. COYG â€ïž
Nah mate dw you always smash us, also... My first game when i was like 5, you beat us 6 2 at home đ€Łđ€Łđ
You was right to be nervous
Glad to have him back in the premier league, love his honest no nonsense approach, think he'll do a good job at Everton with some of the players they've got!
That worked out well! Come on Dycheâs Blues đđđ
Top man Dychey, can see him doing well at Evertonâœïž
Most Everon fans will get behind him.. but there is always some moaning half glass empty head waiting to pounce
Impeccable timing
Heâs a great manager. Heâs not the best tactician or a great technical coach but he gets people and heâs a leader. You could put him in charge of your local supermarket, factory or chippy and heâd get results.
He's both a great tactician and great technical coach. You don't get to do what he accomplished at Burnley with leadership alone, whatever the fuck that means.
What tactics and technical aspects of his do you disagree with? You obviously have a view because you said it. What of his specifically are you referring to?
@@griff8578 Itâs not anything I disagree with just an observation having watched his team for 9 years. I also didnât say he was a bad coach. On the tactics comment. I donât recall, in 9 years, him once making a tactical change in a game that turned the flow of the match. In fact, he rarely made subs at all. It was like for like replacements often beyond the 85 minute mark. He occasionally switched from 4-4-2 to 4-4-1-1 or threw on another big lad but thatâs it. On the technical coaching, Iâm more trying to describe his style of management and maybe technical is the wrong word. Heâs not a coach like who almost sees himself as a conductor micromanaging playerâs positioning and movement. In fact I donât think he did a lot of hands on coaching on the training ground, his staff handled that. He set the culture, standards and strategy and was a leader (Which is what I was getting at with the he could manage in any sector comment). Heâs more like Alex Ferguson than he is Pep Guardiola. Heâs said before that his managerial heroes were Ferguson and Clough.
Edit - he could probably do with taking a leaf out of Fergusonâs book and adding a modern technical coach to his set up like AF did with Carlos Queiroz (and replace Steve Stone in the process, who generated loads rumours about poor conduct and bullying behaviour at Burnley)
@@michaelc.1710 if you had truly seen his side for 9 years you would've seen how many little adjustements he did match to match, half to half, and how well he understands tactics. You're also impliying Ferguson didn't know tactics, which is such a ludicrous comment I really can't take you seriously anymore
@@WhereIsTheIntruder I donât know how youâre coming to the conclusions youâre coming to reading my posts?! Iâve said Dyche is a great manager. Iâve even compared him to Ferguson, probably the most successful manager of all time! On another video Iâve said I think he can get Everton into the top 6. I am NOT slagging him off. My OP was intended as a compliment while recognising the common criticisms of him. He did an unbelievable job here and Iâm really grateful for everything he did. Iâm not saying heâs bad at those things, Iâm saying theyâre not necessarily his strengths in comparison to other managers.
Brilliant insight in to his philosophy great interview
Definition of high performance?
This pod cast đ
Simply best around đ
Definitely high performance đ đ
Wow what a listen! I had a perception on Dyche before this but I was surprised he's such an intelligent man! Great manager all the best
Top guy came to a takeaway in Burnley on a night out big up from Burnley đŹđ§đ”đ°
A good vid! He is underrated!
always liked sean before this video, what a great old skool bloke not manger but hard working honest bloke.he deserves success all the best at EVERTON
any manager who can survive at one premier league club for more than 5 years must be pretty good. moyes, allardyce, curbishley, dyche, howe all spring to mind.
Hughes as well
What a legend , never any bs from him , down to earth....
Clear of Klopp and Fraudiola
I watched these interviews with Dyche before, and he comes across really well. Wanted my club, Southampton, to pursue him yet they went after Nathan Jones based on his record there. That's going well...not! So surprise Dyche is turning Everton around. Well done, Sean.
Pro's doing a pro job X
hope it just u guys taking the fruits of your talents.
This channel is class.
Intresting man ole Shaun Dyche, underrated man and manager, big up mate, hope he keeps everton up but not at the expense of Forest!! COYR
I always rate him as one of my top 5 managers. The way he carried Burnley in his shoulders and even carried them to europe, staying in the top league for more than half the decade with one of the worst invesments in transfers in the league is definitely something other elite managers like klopp or pep cant do.
An excellent decision to upload this now. A massive influx of blues like me with be hitting this up. Good business!
Great Bloke, much deeper than you would think, Everton has got themselves a gem of a manager a long as they back him.
What an intelligent and reasonable man. As an Everton fan, I honestly respected his job at Burnley, and now I am happy he manages Everton.
Itâs a shame Burnley Fans never got chance to say goodbye as he became part of our Burnley Community. Hopefully we get promoted đ and we see him again at Turf Moor
Terrific! Class video. Thanks actually.
Much interest by the presenter in the end of his time at Burnley in his questioning, but I suppose that's the time they were in. So many positives at that gorgeous club :)
I really like Sean, and we need more English managers and players. One thing I will say where he probably shouldn't get the credit: In Burnley, he had the best defender that I have ever seen in my life. That defender was the captain, Ben Mee. The most underrated defender, 'slept on', all that. I've seen some of the best CBs in the world from the early 90s onwards, and he was better than every single one of them. With such a reliance on elite defenders, that must have been no small factor in Burnley's success.
In fact, it was the season that Ben Mee was injured that they dropped down and got relegated. So Dyche, excellent manager, love almost everything I see. But he's never, to my knowledge, come out and said "We do need to give Ben Mee a Lot of credit here".
That's the bit that I think Sean keeps a bit quiet.
Yes sean that bores the life out of me passing at the back for no reason Hopefully Everton will announce you today 3 days after you agreed the deal
Everton have hired the perfect man, his self-reflection and understanding of players and the game is so far above how the media perceive him. With the backing Everton can give him, I expect theyâll flourish. Could be a regular in the top 6.
He had done well for Burnley. More so here he handles himself with dignity. Top man.
Burnley fan here. This was a great and very timely watch with his appointment as Everton's manager. I can't wait for his press conferences!
Southampton fan here. It baffles me that we didn't approach Sean for the manager role back in November. He was clearly the best candidate available, he'd have had the World Cup as a 'pre-season' with 95% of the squad. Come January, he could have brought in his players.
I don't mind our squad, they've backed Jones. But it's a young squad without many leaders, with Dyche in charge I'd be feeling so much more confident. A missed opportunity.
Just found the channel. Excellent chat guys. Always liked SD, calls a spade a spade. Comes across really well. Toffees got a good un as long as the EVs board work with him đ
Recently saw press conferences with dyche from burnley never realized how intelligent and funny he was im a huge fan of him hopefully he smashes it in everton
Can't not like the man, as a Rangers fan I was wanting him to replace Gio. More than happy with Michael Beale though. I'm sure he will do well with Everton. Wish them both well
Cheers mate

That intro is intense..cool your jets.
That was a very good chat
Great guy, did a fantastic job at Burnley
Great podcast. Can you guys get Vincent Kompany or Patrick Viera, that would be insane!!
Did you wait 5 months to release this? Basically when Dyche got hired? Because if so. Great job đ
And now he managed to keep Everton in the PL. One of the most underrated coaches in the world
I've always believed he's a top manager, never seen someone get the most out of players better
I hope we beat them on the weekend, but hope it can be the start of a new chapter for his story where he shows what he can do
Arsenal fan here this is a GREAT MANAGER
Think he'll do well at Everton a step up with respect from Burnley in terms of potential of the club. Got players he's familiar with like tarkowski keane Dwight mcneil etc. Similarities with eddie howe in he's been sacked but taken the step back had family time refreshed seen friends gon w on holidays been abit of a student of the game and come back in ready to go after a long term in a job be interested to see what dyche can do with a transfer window behind him in the summer
These are solid podcasts, Iâd love to see shearer on here.
Big respect for bringing up that topic at 25:00 đđ» this country lives in denial
You should make us pay for these. They are so high quality hahahah
Just a straight shooting guy with an excellent knowledge of football. It infuriates me when I hear all this modern terminology, there is nothing new in it just fancy words.
Wanted him before we signed agent Rafa. He'll do well with us and hope he's given a chance đ
Came across really great in this interview and would have absolutely taken 6 points in first 3 games. We may stay up yet! COYB!
Dyche achieved the unthinkable at Burnley. Hoping he'll do well at Everton.
Apparently he's taking up his first Training session but club havnt announced him , looking like he has to go with wat he has ,if he keeps Everton up he fans will love him ,but if we go down we have to back him I think he's perfect for either situation, I hope he challenges the board to and moshiri , unfortunately for dyche I can see moshiri selling up so he's goin to go through similar situation with Everton
Best show on tube fact
I love Dyche, talks a lot of sense. Much better than that useless CZcams.
Top top guy. Really intelligent.
Top man, pains me when people overlook the over-achievements of people like him, Eddie Howe, Big Sam, David Moyes, etc, think he will do great things at Everton
Great video,I'd love to train 1 day, I'd say every team has 5 to 7 corners date 5 7 changes watch dem overcoming wink toward catch big kick goal other end sign me up
Sean dyche is a proper man, takes things on the chin and moves on.
Did us fair and square once again Sean! Fair play lmao, we move.
80 MINUTES OF GLORY
Sean Dyche will bring Everton back to the Dogs of War days!!!
You'd love to see him with top players.. He'd take no prisoners and make them better. If Everton give him the powers ,and money he could do things for them!
Good luck Sean. Burnley should not have sacked you
Best thing tht couldve happened for dyche.
