@John Phillips their was another show a few years back that did exactly that, i forget the name but yes it was a competition where the smiths would make firearms in this same type of scenario
They should pick weapons they've already picked before. It's the contest that makes the show.
@Taylor's Pride & Punch thats the one! it wasn't too bad either just a little repetitive. i agree on forged though, the bows,the crossbows,,,they all sucked, i would rather they use swords or edged weapons theve already done in the past since the finals on some of those weapons were not the greatest....

If I remember correctly the stone crossbow was only used for hunting birds and small mammals. I also remember some mention of "tournament" use of such crossbows.

I actually went to High School with Colton, he was a Senior when I was a Sophomore. Really nice guy we used to give each other a lot of hassle back in the day. Our whole school district was glued to there TV that night since it was something so close to home.

According to what I heard the rock throwing crossbow was not even intended for killing people in the first place and was mostly used to kill small game.

bad because they dont know how to shoot. if only they'll allow/hire ballistic weapon professionals to do the job, maybe, just maybe they'll get better test results.

Watching this rerun repeat 24 June 2022 S7 Ep12, i cannot find the second Rock-Throwing crossbow video that failed because of a misfire, looking at it 10 times over with magnification, i saw Dave's face mask touch the top part of the trigger assembly, Dave's mask moved when it fired, Dave had his eyes closed and Doug Marcaida had no trouble firing that crossbow, opinions please

They should have special challenges where the contestants make practical weapons from videogames or shows.

round ballistic is mostly use for high impact on shattering or break solid stuff more efficiently, fizik is real.

It was mls handling of a projectile shooter. Watch his pinky finger on his left hand set off a short hit on the rear side of the triger arm. There shows are cool yet own up also. That's what we all need to do is own up when its not right for another. Thank you.

It would have been awesome if you brought Jörg Sprave from the slingshot channel. I think a colaboration with him would be interesting. I would love to see more projectile weapons on forged in fire. There is an area not explored yet by the show.

because the contestants are mostly bladesmiths, of course they're not great at making other types of weapons, especially bows and crossbows which most of them aren't made with steel bows.

I've noticed that most ballistic gel videos never wrap the gel in a comparable layer of skin and clothing. All very important factors especially with the blunter projectiles like rocks. Not an accurate asessment without IMO.
