But how will you keep it in the tip ? It'll explode in your hand
@@livewireyk2815 Antimatter can be preserved by magnet
I believe Rambo's explosive arrow tips would be triggered by an impact on a detonator or percussion cap in the tip of the charge. His arrows would probably have been C4 or Semtex, which can be triggered by a blasting cap rigged up to detonate on impact, much like how an artillery shell is safe to handle without the fuze screwed into the tip of the shell.
This is My Guess from what would be Easy to Produce and Effective on Target
Most people don't know that a shotgun or rifle primer can detonate high explosives, you could put one on the tip of the charge and detonate a binary charge.
but not everyone has military explosive training. we can't tell the truth or we risk post EAS charges for telling people 'military secrets'
Since my childhood I always remembered them being C4, but I have no idea where I got this

Triiodine crystlals. You could get some iodine crystals from a water purification bottle (not tabs) and dump pure ammonia on the crystals. Then put those crystals into an arrow head. When it hit it would blow up.

You could use a deacceleration trigger. Basically a heavy firing pin in the back, on impact inertia slams it in the primer. Can't go off at launch no matter how hard, as the force goes in the back of the casing, away from the sensitive part.
Robert Martinu I looked at a several options. Most solutions were too heavy for me to get the arrow to fly straight. Outside of that, I lack a lot of the components or tools to facilitate some of the things I would of liked to of done. These broadhead were relatively inexpensive to make đ

what is the name of this music ?
Yeah. What's the title of that track?
Why a pressure tip detonation?
An inertial detonator is much more safe and reliable, while allowing for greater penetration before detonation, as well as the use of wider range of explosives.
Theoretically, you could fill the entire shaft with explosive, too, but that could potentially reduce the actual damaging effects.
Blowing stuff up with arrows is still cool though.
Money.
An inertial detonator being safer?... Maybe for anyone but the operator. We specially if he wants to actually carry them around. Jump off a wall or ledge? Dead. Brake in a vehicle suddenly? Dead.
@@21kiwi24 Just make it only go off with the inertia from a very sudden stop eg arrow to stopping speeds rather than jumping off a bridge or hard braking levels.

The tendency of the arrow to fly back towards the shooter after the explosion is troubling
This whole thing, although super cool, looks far too dangerous to be practical.
@@caniggiaful would probably be fine for longer arching shots using it more like a mortar
Not really. if you have a exploding arrow, you shouldnt be close period. I think the advantage of using a exploding arrow is the curve. You will be able to hit far targets without even being seen and they wouldn't know where it was coming from. with enough explosives and enough marksmen, you wouldnt even have to worry about hitting the targets directly. It would just be raining hell down from the heavens. With that type of advantage you wouldn't have to worry about a arrow flying back at you. It would seem suitable to use that on anti vehicles or destroying machinery. Otherwise it would probably be cheaper and just as effective to use a arrow.
@@anthonygordon9483 Or maybe just a single sniper with a modern scoped rifle to take out a faraway targets. LOL, your strategy of using several archers was outdated centuries ago.

This arrow is cool and all but honestly duct tape dynamite arrows are really fun (can't say from experience...)
@Viet Vo it's like none of these guy's ever played with visco fuses.....
When I was a kid we would fill the shaft with gun powder and use Percussion Caps (use to reload shells) under the broadhead threaded shafts. When it struck a hard surface the cap would ignite the powder in the shaft and BOOM. Sometimes you had to drill out a small hole in the bottom where the arrow head screwed in to let the spark reach the powder.

I loved watching the arrows in slow motion how the arrows bowed up and down, the carbon arrows are so much safer than aluminum arrows they come out looking like a wet spaghetti noodle. Thank you for this video it showed a lot more than you thought, I've been in archery for 30 years and I'm still learning every time i shoot i love shooting my bow
Wayne Sligar carbon arrows are not safer that aluminum. Carbon can be really good cuz u have a lot of options for light weight arrows and very accurate arrows but if a carbon arrow gets damaged at all it is likely that it will break when you release your next shot with that arrow and if it breaks on release the shattered carbon fiber can go through your arm that is holding the bow. You can check it out if u just google broken arrow goes through arm or something like that
The same to me.
@@joeyisamazing1091 have you ever seen arrows released from the bow in slow motion the aluminum arrows look like a wet spaghetti noodle and the carbon arrows bow up a little and take off, you are right if a carbon arrows gets damaged they are very dangerous

11:53 That arrow bouncing off the dummy could have actually killed him..
@Quti piez doesn't matter. It's no different than any other type of shrapnel being propelled by an explosion.
No
But did he die?
Look up the Projector, Infantry, Anti-Tank or PIAT, a British WWII weapon. It was recommended that you wear a helmet when you fired it.
It wouldn't be able to kill him going at that low of a velocity, if it had hit him in the eye it would hurt yes but not kill him, the explosion wasn't big enough to propel the arrow more than 20 fps, so it'd feel about like someone poking him
VERY interesting video! It would be interesting to know the pressure of the blast front in the vicinity of the mannequin's face and determine if the explosion may have been lethal even though it didn't penetrate the armor plate.

Harley Me well, when the center of gravity is that far out on one side, itâs gonna be real stable. unless you have something on the arrow that causes a significant amount of aero forces beyond the normal drag of the arrow itself, itâll follow a ballistic arc just fine.
As long as the front is heavier than the back and it has good feathers it will fly pretty true as long as it's not a ridiculous amount of weight
