- Today I fish several locations and shipwrecks in the hope of catching fish for food. Our stores of eating fish are getting low so it's time to restock the freezer. I share the techniques, methods and tackle I use also explaining what is happening as I do it. Every day at sea is a good day, but its better when it ends with some delicious fish to eat.

There are some jellyfish who do not sting, but also, only the tentacles sting. Not the top.

I can tell that you can identify when it's a wrasse that hooks up, but can you tell us what their hit feels like that is so distinctive? A video where you explain the different species line-bite feels would be really cool.
It’s the ragged bite and strength that gives it away.

I tried fishing a wreck for the first time yesterday, I didn't have much luck. Seeing you using the weight to get down now makes so much sense. Excellent information there I'll definitely be doing that next time. 👍🐟

Wonderful trip John. I have an idea for you. You could use some flat head self tapping screws and install a metal yard stick to your platform and keep yourself from fiddling with a tape measure. ❤. That larger cuckoo wrasse was a specimen for sure.. i think the record may only be 1lb 4oz...such brilliant colours .

Contravertial but you're the man to give a good opinion. Why take a breading sized fish and throw back a fish because of inches that could be eaten.
That’s why I have a preferred slot size. Leaving the biggest and the smallest.
Quality video pal, we was over in coverack when you was out and the jellyfish there was bonkers huge rafts off them in for a couple of days then disappeared lol 😂

Fantastic day out John. Excellent catch for the day. You can see why Cornwall is so popular with the weather. Last Sunday we had just over 20 degrees in Amble, gone down and got wet since. 👍

Legal bass size in the Isle of Man is 50-60cm. Certainly gives you a good feed

BTW...Think method of dispatching fish quickly you were describing @ 17:45...ikejime/ikijime=Ee-kay-jee-may/Ee-kee-jee-may & Japanese in origin. Some fishers here, in Hawaii, use this method or Bonking over the head w/short-handled(24-36in) bat. Some get it right(1-2x) but majority take 4-5 swings....A-L-O-H-A from Hawaii!
